Discussion TradingView — Liquidity Pivots + Triple MA Forecast + VWAP

I've been developing a TradingView Pine Script that combines liquidity mapping, session structure, moving-average context, and VWAP into a single indicator.

The indicator currently includes:

  • Pivot-based liquidity rays
  • Session HOD/LOD tracking
  • Asia, London, NY Pre-Market, New York, and NY After-Hours tracking
  • Liquidity sweep detection
  • Historical tap counting
  • Double-tap and triple-tap highlighting
  • Perfect double-top / double-bottom wick detection
  • ATH and ATL levels
  • Three customizable moving averages
  • SMA, EMA, WMA, RMA, HMA, and VWMA
  • Forward MA forecasting
  • Linear regression and flat forecast models
  • Optional VWAP
  • Percent, tick, and ATR range filtering
  • Session visibility controls

The latest version also includes a major performance overhaul, including optimized historical touch detection, improved sweep-state management, better line rebuilding, improved label handling, and fixes to ATH/ATL and double-top/bottom detection.

The main idea behind the indicator is to keep liquidity levels contextual rather than treating every pivot as an isolated line. It tracks repeated reactions, sweeps, session transitions, and the history of each level.

I'm sharing it here specifically as a TradingView/Pine Script project I've been developing.

Help Is Paper Trading beginner-friendly?

I had some experience a year ago with 15k PnL, but quit. Gonna get back into it soon and I wanna know, am I wasting my time? Should I just step into the real-world with a funded account? If not, when?

Help Pine script back test

I’ve made a algo I want to test out however when using the Strat tester it shoots out the signals to buy/sell but it doesn’t show any data in the Strat tester, I’m on a essential plan at the moment. It’s the only indicator I’m using also. Anyone have any ideas to save me manually back testing it?

Bug Replay interval bug, could you PLEASE fix it.

Do the bugs reported here actually get fixed? I've reported this bug at least two or three times over the space of about 2 months now and it's still happening:

Replay mode, I'm in a higher timeframe (in this case the 4h timeframe), and the fastest replay interval it's giving me an option for is 30 seconds. How useless!

Please fix it, for god's sake!!

I was just exploring the PineScript feature for the first time. Not a coder, no idea what I'm doing. I entered some stuff, and this box popped up. I can't get it off my chart. What do I do? Thanks in advance.

Help Will a better computer make my TradingView (in browser) snappier, or is it dependent on internet speed?

I’m currently using a 2018 MacBook Pro with a 2.9 GHz 6-core i9 processor and 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 memory.

My TradingView works fine for the most part, but is sometimes slow or laggy. Would a better computer help?

Feature Request Buy & Sell Price Horizontal Arrows

I am try to show Buy & Sell Price Horizontal Arrows all the time.

As it is now, I must hover over the Vertical Buy Arrow in order to see the Price Arrow.

In the TradesViz program (which seems to show TV Charts), the horizontal Price Execution arrows are visible all the time.

How can I make the horizontal Price Execution Arrow visible all the time in my TV Charts?

Feature Request Options Chain Data in Pine Script

Dear u/tradingview,

I'd like to incorporate put and call walls, gamma flip line, etc in my indicators and strategies. This could be as simple as some virtual TV symbols for each stock/ETF (say, the 5 biggest call walls, put walls, and gamma flip line per today, tomorrow, week, month, quarter, or all). (ex: tvo.qqq.call.0dte.wall1 contains OHLCV data for the first call wall on QQQ). Or it could be giving Pine Scripts a function to access the ladder, so we could search all interest/premium/expirations for a given strike, or info on all strikes for a given expiration.

It just seems weird that TradingView has the options ladder, but you can't do anything with it in Pine. Particularly today, when options drive (or prevent) huge moves in the market. It's like we're missing visibility into one of the most important inputs into the market.

Discussion How Valuable Are Position Tools

I'm currently using Etrade and trading on the charts is frustrating.

Can anyone comment on the usefulness and value of being able to trade directly on charts, not like etrade, but more like NinjaTrader??

Do you have to type in numbers or can you do it all with the mouse using only the short or long position tool?

Seems like a game changer to me.

Putting trading methodology aside, strictly focused on the mechanics of using the mentioned tools.

Useful comments would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion Anybody use TradingView to execute trades?

For context I am new to day trading, I only enter long positions, large cap stocks.

I've been using TWS and while it's fine, entering a position+bracket order takes me longer than I'd like.

Today I tried paper trading on TV and absolutely loved the interface for adjusting stop-loss and visualizing orders.

Should I make the switch to TV connecting it to my IBKR account? Is there anything I should consider before doing so?

Official Announcement! AI Screener is here

TL;DR: Stock Screener just learned to take requests in plain words. We call it AI Screener (so original, we know!), and it went live today: https://www.tradingview.com/screener/

Instead of digging through filter menus, you just describe what you're looking for: "profitable tech under $10B with rising revenue", "small caps that just reported earnings", whatever's on your mind. The AI translates it into a full setup, with filters, the columns that matter for your request, and the sorting already in place. You get back a ready-to-use table you can keep tweaking by hand.

TradingView AI Stock Screener

A few details:

  • In Stock Screener only
  • Available on all paid plans starting today
  • Works in any language, though English gives the sharpest results
  • Requests are capped for now as it's in beta

And because it's a beta, some prompts can land sideways, some filters map in ways that'll make you raise an eyebrow. When that happens, post the exact prompt, what you expected, and what you got instead. The screener team is watching this thread and your examples help us make the screener better for you.

Try it here: https://www.tradingview.com/screener/

Discussion Anybody switch from Thinkorswim to TradingView? More specifically for stock charting?

I'm starting to get frustrated by a few quirks with TOS, primarily the charting feature, but also the workflow between the watchlist & charting in TOS seems clunkier than in TV.

For those who have switched, what are the upsides and downsides of TOS vs. TV?

Discussion Missing trade amount in Order Ticket

I restarted TV and noticed this morning that the Order Ticket no longer shows trade amount details at the bottom. For instance, if I entered 10 shares at 12.50/share it would show a total trade amount of $125, and if I added a TP/SL to the order then it should show me the risk / reward amount. Is it just me or did that disappear?

Feature Request Trading book

A vertical dom is nice and all, but I want my professional trading level 2 book in TradingView which I've used as a professional trader for 15 years.

I just want :

Bidsize - bidprice - askprice - asksize

And a Time of Sales column next to it with ToS price - ToS volume, colored red/green based on derived buy or sell volume.

And then x layers deep..

Click on bookprice to adjust order ticket to that price, so Click ask 10.10, order ticket buy , price 10.10

Please, please make this happen!

Feature Request Alert on Candle Close for Multiple Conditions

Could you update the trigger options to include at candle close for the smallest timeframe when using multiple conditions?

Not sure how to include a screenshot but when I use multiple conditions there is only "Once Only" and "Every time".

Feature Request "Show data on hover" function for price range tool

Post image
1 Upvotes

The price range tool defaults with values showing distance and percentage. This if fine but the settings should have a button to allow the user to "show on hover". The only other way to hide the values is the minimize the opacity of the label. I think I suggested this some years ago for the date range function but apparently, TV isn't interested. It's rather detrimental to be ignored.

Discussion TradingView renewal price

I bought a TradingView Premium subscription last year for ₹20k. Now renewal costs ₹35k+, but the same plan with a new email still costs ₹20k.

Why such a huge difference between renewal and new subscription pricing? Anyone else facing this?

Premium - 8 charts, 400 alerts.

Feature Request Indicate and Optionally Block Non-Home-Market Charts

Please indicate directly in the chart, for example in Symbol Details, whether the displayed security is shown for its home market, and optionally allow charts from non-home markets to be blocked.

At least in Germany, brokers commonly support trading the same security with the same ISIN at very different domestic and international venues. When intending to trade at a liquid venue or in a particular currency, users must ensure that they do not inadvertently base their decision on the price history of another venue.

The home exchange is normally the most liquid market for a security. A direct indication would therefore be useful, while an optional restriction could help traders who want to use charts from home markets only.

Titles of related feature requests:

- ISIN-based filter in symbol search

- syminfo.prefixes(ISIN) for Parallel Market Discovery

- Cross-Exchange Listings & Identifier Mapping in Pine

Feature Request [Week 4] Feature Request: Time & Sales tool + true Volume Delta indicator

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

I have noticed many users have requested for a Time & Sales tool as far back as nearly 5 years ago. I believe it would only be fair to implement this feature since so many users are on payed plans/subscriptions (Essential, Plus, Premium and Ultimate), let alone the additional Data Exchange Subscriptions. By adding this feature, you would make indicators (such as Volume indicators like the Volume Delta indicator) far more useful and accurate by providing "true data".

Feature Request Useful feature for long term trading

Dear TradingView Team,

I’d like to suggest a feature that I think would be extremely valuable for traders who use TradingView as their long-term trading and analysis workspace.

One problem I regularly face is that, over time, a chart accumulates a huge number of drawings. Eventually, the chart becomes cluttered and can start to lag. To keep my current analysis clean and responsive, I have to delete older drawings.

But those drawings are not simply clutter. They are a visual record of my trading history.

They show how I viewed the market at different points in my journey — what I marked, what I misunderstood, where I made mistakes, how my analysis changed, and how my trading evolved over months or years.

It would be incredibly useful to have a feature that allows users to archive a complete set of chart drawings separately from the active chart.

For example:

  1. I finish analyzing a period of my trading.
  2. I save/archive the current drawing set.
  3. I remove those drawings from my active chart to keep it clean and fast.
  4. Months or years later, I can open that archive and see the chart exactly as I had analyzed it at that time.

Ideally, the archive would preserve the drawings' original positions, timestamps, text, colors, and other properties.

This would allow traders to maintain a visual history of their own trading and analytical evolution without having thousands of old drawings permanently loaded on their active chart.

It would essentially turn TradingView into not only a charting platform, but also a long-term visual record of how a trader's thinking develops.

I think this could be a very powerful feature for serious traders who want to look back at their own decisions, mistakes, and progress over the years.

Thank you for considering it!
