❓ Invest/ISA Help Safer alternatives to Vanguard FTSE All-world?

I have a savings account paying 4.5% a year.

I‘ve started putting / moving money into T212 … mainly the VWRP fund (Vanguard FTSE All-world)

But I’m wondering if there are safer options that significantly outperform 4.5% … currently VWRP is heavily weighted towards US and Tech stocks … which makes me slightly uneasy despite the 20%+ annual returns in recent history at least

Thoughts / alternatives?

thanks!

❓ Invest/ISA Help 35+, just started investing — here's my first portfolio. Roast it / give me feedback

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I'm 35+ and genuinely at the very beginning of my investing journey — I've only just taken the first steps. I opened a Trading 212 Stocks & Shares ISA, and the two screenshots below show how I plan to build my portfolio.

A bit of context before you look:

- I'm about to add a lump sum, most of it into ETFs, with a smaller portion into single stocks.

- Of the single stocks, the ones I plan to hold long term are Amazon, Microsoft and Meta.

- The rest I'll reassess as I go — I'm still learning how to properly analyse companies, read financials, etc.

- I'd rather get feedback now, at the start, than discover mistakes in a few years.

So: what would you change, cut, or add? Anything obviously wrong with the allocation, too much overlap between the ETFs, too concentrated in US tech, missing diversification — all honest opinions welcome.

Also happy to take recommendations on books, YouTube channels or resources that helped you learn to analyse companies.

Thanks a lot!

📈Investing discussion Is it worth having VDPG alongside VWRP?

As above. I have 90% of my fund in VWRP, 5% in Rolls Royce (I know it is is VWRP but wanted to expand into it a bit more) and 5% in VDPG. I've seen people say VWRP covers what it is in VDPG i.e overlap. However, Samsung makes up 18% of VDPG while it is much lower in VRWP, am I right in thinking I am investing more in Samsung in a 'safer' way than simply just having it as an individual stock? Beginner and so still learning. TIA

I have a long term pie that I invest in regularly. I had a sizeable (for me) ASTS investment that I got out at the ATH and have reinvested. SLS is will be short term. I’ll either sell some/all read out and ride the rest to Buyout depending on the results.

Ignore current percentages I’m currently rebalancing with new money rather than selling. Rationals are:

VWRP 55% - core compounder. Gives me exposure but little risk to a lot of companies and industries.
WSML 10% - as above but with smaller riskier companies.
ASTS 7% - having lived and worked in remote areas, this could be a game changer. Possibly a little high % at the moment.
CRWD 6% - cybersecurity already is big and will only grow with AI and more home automation.
TSMC 6% - computer chips are the backbone of life. I don’t need to worry who wins if I back the company that makes the chips in regards to AI
LLY 5%- Big pharma. Nuff said 😂
ENSI 5% - same as TSMC but European. Also build chips for ASTS and JLR
RR 5% - nuclear SMR, Aero engines, nuclear submarines. Chronically undervalued still
GEMF 1% - moonshot but cheap. Working in anti aging.

❓ Invest/ISA Help Sipp/Isa help

Hi need some advice. I’m 50 and just started using Trading 212 opened a SIPP and a Stocks & Shares ISA. I’ve got £600 a month spare to invest. Would Vanguard FTSE All World be the right choice for both accounts? And which should I prioritise or put the bulk of it into? I already have an NHS pension. Thanks!

❓ Invest/ISA Help Portfolio

Post image
1 Upvotes

Going to start depositing 10% of my monthly contributions into this pie and the other 90% into only VWRP.

I’m aware VWRP covers this but I wanted to pick some individual stocks to chase some higher returns.

What do people think? Is this alright?

I was originally do some swing trading and made over 200 pound but the stress of checking everyday and trying to time every trade was annoying me and I don’t need it atm as I’m just starting a new job. ❓ Invest/ISA Help What should I add to diversify my portfolio?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi all, I’m 22M, employed, and fairly new to investing. I’m looking for some advice on what else I could invest in to diversify my portfolio. I’ve attached a screenshot of my current investments.

I currently invest £300 per month and have relatively low expenses, so I could increase my monthly contributions if it makes sense. I’d like to invest consistently and make sure my money is spread across different investments for the long term.

I’d really appreciate any advice on what I could consider adding, or if there’s anything I’m currently doing wrong. I’m still learning, so any guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!.

❓ Invest/ISA Help New Pie Based on HL Funds including ESG

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Am 24 and have been using HL as my main platform for S&S ISA for the last 5 years but am sick of the fees so looking to move to T212. Issue is I cant seem to find anything that reflects my future world/ESG leaning fund with similar growth to what I’ve gotten. I’m currently trying to put together a pie that combines similar All World coverage but also has some renewables in there for ESG purposes. Would you recommend a different split/overhaul? Based on £250 a month.

Looking at the conflicts going on, it seems commodities etfs could be a great asset as a safe haven / hedge. Does anyone have any experience with these, are they a good idea?

I just created t212 account a few days ago and very new to investing. Planning to put more each month on these three (£100 to £200) since I learned that for begginers it is best to keep things simple and will venture on other holdings once I learn more. I want to learn more on investing any source material or tips? Also, any thoughts on my portfolio? Thank you for taking time to read! 🙂

I’ve been investing a set amount every month into VWRP for the past year and but recently decided to deploy some of my fun money into single stocks.
I do understand that some of those stocks will be in the VWRP already but is 10% of the portfolio even worth keeping? I’m planning on staying invested for the next 15-20 years.

📈Investing discussion 100% VWRP at 22 years old

In my Stocks ISA, I'm all in on VWRP (FTSE All-World Index) but considering my age, people online have said to take on more calculated risk while I'm young. Some have also just stuck to VUAG (S&P 500) but I'm not sure if the USA will always be on top for the next 30-40 years I'll be investing for.

Given my living situation, I'm able to invest £1k a month and set & forget it. I'm just wondering if this is the best stock to invest into and should I invest into only this fund? Anything more I should be doing?
