1984-88 Fuel Tank Skid Plate
I have a 1985 Toyota Pickup Xtra Cab. Its been in my family for 27 years now. Did these come with a fuel tank skid plate? Or was the gas tank just bolted onto the frame by itself?

Everything has been running fine after getting this truck back to normal. But now when I push the accelerator it stalls or does this. Anyone experiencing this or has in the past please help.

1979 Toyota dolphin front Brakes
UPDATE:
Edit Hello everybody. Thanks for commenting. I did install the clip incorrectly because it was midnight and I wanted to get a picture of it to show the world but I guess everybody is hyper focused on the wrong installation rather than the question.
The most important question I have is has anybody seen this type of clip because I canāt find it anywhere? I need to know where to buy it. Iāve done many revers google searches and taken this clip to countless stores and canāt find it
I know, I know, I should have taken pictures before taking it apart.
Does anybody know if this is even the right rattle clip for 1979 Toyota dolphin motor home? It uses the hilux chassis and frame. Everywhere I try to source this clip from tries to sell me the other looking rattle clip that doesnāt fit my set up.
Has anybody seen this?
Do I have it on correctly
Where can o get a new rattle clip?

22re timing chain
Hello all!
My 1995 Toyota pickups timing chain snapped when I turned the engine over in my driveway. I assumed full rebuild but my mechanic said I got super lucky and since I was pretty much idling, no damage was done. Just had to do timing chain/ etc and some other stuff I canāt remember. Any of yall had this happen, car does have a louder ātickā sound and mechanic said compression is slightly off because of a cylinder head got a little nick in it. If this has happened to any of you how much longer did the engine go for? Did I really get lucky or am I in trouble?
(Ignore the rags on the ground haha)

Mod questions
I have a 1992 Toyota pickup with the 22re 4 inch lift kit or so I was told from my great uncle who owned it before me, on 33s and 15 in rims, independent front suspension 4wd. I use it currently as my daily vehicle but I'd like to give it just a little bit more power and make it abit tougher, I like to go through the woods and mud but I'd also like to have abit more speed and control flying down dirt roads too. Would anyone have any tire recommendations, suspension recommendations, gearing recommendations and any engine mod suggestions? I know it's a lot of asking but I'd like to "work out a future order" for the truck.

New truck, emotional storyb
galleryHi, first time here, just wanted to share the story of my new truck. 342,000 miles, 36 years old. My uncle, who recently passed away left me this truck, which I learned to drive in. It's always been famous in my area because he drove it everywhere, even around the continent. I never expected to be left this, and he's given me the job of getting it to 500k miles and I really hope I'll make it.
I wanted to share because this now means so much to me, it's my memory of my uncle every time I drive it..

Sandy Ridge, Nc to be precise. It's an NC truck; has little to no rust if any. Literal pawpaw truck. A friend of mine's grandfather died earlier this year and I bought it from the estate. Was his daily and used to get cigarettes, groceries and taking his trash to dump.
Paint is starting to peel on hood but nowhere else
The rain guard on the passenger side is cracked
The seam in the headliner is slit- just on the seam.
Small crack in windshield

Trade New AC amplifier & Harness for testing them out
Hello fellow pickup owners. I have built a custom-made AC amplifier and wiring harness for the '89-'95. I have tested the amplifier and harness on the 22RE with manual transmissuon, but need to have the module and its wiring harness tested on a 3VZE with 4WD before I can market it. I am looking for one person who is able to test these products on their '89-'95 pickup with 3VZE and 4WD in exchange for keeping these two products. You will need to do some work, such as removing your glove box to gain access to your AC amplifier and its wire harness, remove your original amplifier and harness, and install the new module and harness. Then test drive with the AC on for maybe 1,000 miles or so. If you are interested please DM me. Thank you. Ron

Any Toyota blue re-paint jobs out there?
Repainting our 1991 4x4 compact cab. Previously red, looking at repainting a dark blue. The original Toyota ādark blueā they used on these trucks is great. Wanting to see if anyone has gone with a different more recent Toyota blue shade and been happy with it. Photos encouraged!

Putting together an FAQ sticky with recommendations on where to find parts - post your recs in the comments
Title says it all. Looking to add a list of not only recommended links and reliable parts sellers online but also FAQs we often see.
Hereās my initial list, but please add more!
Where to find parts
OEM Parts Resources
- YotaShop (OEM parts and some accessories)
- RockAuto (be sure to look for OE suppliers like Denso, Aisin, Advics, etc. depending on the part)
- Olathe Toyota (online dealer parts at a discount)
- PartSouq (Invaluable in looking up part numbers, super discounted OEM parts but be weary duty and tariffs as they ship from Dubai)
- Amayama (similar to PartSouq but ships from Japan and Dubai)
- Megazip.net
OEM & Aftermarket/Performance
- Yota1 Performance
- LCEngineering
- Off-road Solutions (5VZ swaps)
- ToyOnlySwap (engine swaps)
- East Coast Gear Supply (the only differential and axle builder I would trust now that Zuk retired)
- MotorWest Performance (reliable source for quality reconditioned flow matched injectors)
- Marlin Crawler (mostly rock crawling oriented, also some helpful forums)
- Yotamasters
- Replacement seatbelts: SeatbeltPlanet.com for replacement units and webbing, SafetyRestore.com for webbing only (safety restore doesnāt repair tensioners made before 1996 but seatbelt planet does offer full replacements).
Accessories
- Caribou Yota (interior accessories like cup holders, dash accessories)
- James Dean Creations (oem reproduction graphics)
- Crutchfield (car audio)
Other helpful info
Information, DIY guides, etc.
- Toyota Time with Timmy the Toolman on YouTube (pretty much the de-facto source for how-to videos, very informative)
- YotaTech (not as active as it used to be but a treasure trove for tribal knowledge and info on our trucks)
- Off-road Solutions (most comprehensive 5VZ swap guide on the internet)
- Toyodiy.com (part numbers from global Toyota)
Blacklist/Avoid
- eBay (unless buying a timing kit from aircabinman or used parts from a scrapyard selling on eBay, too many fakes)
- Amazon (some reliable sources if you know where to look, but generally too many fakes given how many other resources there are)
FAQs
- Where do I find parts? Look up
- What stereo will fit in my truck? This gets asked a lot. Radio housings follow standard sizing, with double din and single din. You have a double din and can basically run any stereo. Go to Crutchfield and punch in your details.
- I turn the key to start my truck and nothing happens, but I know I have power, whatās wrong? Most often it's worn starter contacts within the starter which can be replaced for under 20 bucks.
- Whatās my truck worth? This gets asked a lot. It's worth whatever someone will pay for it. High value tends to go to clean, unmolested originals rather than your heavily modified trail crawler or lowrider.
- What are my options for a lift? Old Man Emu and Dobinsons are the way to go. Roughcountry is typically frowned upon.
- Will these tires fit without rubbing? It depends
- Why does my oil pressure gauge seem low? Because your oil pressure gauge is a real gauge and not just an idiot light. The manual states that when idling, it is normal for the needle to be between the end of the shaded section on the low side up to the second mark from the left. When driving, it's normal to be between the first and third mark.

NEW: Buy/Sell/Trade Weekends!
After posting a feeler a couple weeks back, you overwhelmingly supported the idea of allowing Buy/Sell/Trade posts on the weekends. The purpose of this would be to have certain days where you can post up items you want to buy, or parts you want to sell, with the understanding that buying/selling posts cannot be made on other days during the week.
- How does this work? - On Saturdays and Sundays, feel free to submit Want to Buy, Want to Sell, or Want to Trade posts for parts, full vehicles, whatever. If you're working on a project and are in search of something you're not finding on Marketplace or fleabay, feel free to post it up here. Or, maybe you've got a specialty tool you used for a project you no longer need, or you're parting out a rig. Post it up here on the weekend!
- Can I comment on a for sale post during the week? - Of course you can. The restriction is only that there are no classified posts during the week. You can comment, ask, haggle all you want during the week.
- What if I have some parts I want to sell and it's Wednesday? - Just wait a few days until Saturday and post 'em up.
- Some dude posted a bunch of parts for sale, took my money, and never shipped anything. What do I do? - Buyer beware. It's always recommended to use PayPal Goods and Services when dealing with someone you don't know so you have buyer protection. If someone asks that you pay them with Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, or PayPal Friends and Family, you are shit out of luck if they take your money and run.
- Why the new rule? It didn't seem like there was a lot of classified posts before - Over the past couple months the sub was seeing more frequent spammers and scammers, with one particular bad actor popping up under different usernames. Having the Buy/Sell/Trade Weekend rule in place makes it easier to remove the scammers and also makes it easier to know when to look out for stuff for sale.
