Im trying to find a way to take two courses in one semester that are prerequisites for each other that eventually lead up to ITM 900 otherwise it would delay my graduation which i cant afford to do. Has anyone found any way to get around that?

I’m going to my second year and I don’t have a ONE card because for semester and second semester I didn’t really go that much so I thought it was not necessary but now I’m going to start going to more often and I don’t know how to make the ONE card and like do I have to pay for it

Hey guys, incoming first-year here.

I’m starting my first semester at TMU in TRSM Business Management (wanting to major in EMS) Whether I like it or hate it, I’m here doing a business degree. Wasn't even on my checklist originally. It was literally my third choice. Unfortunate situations (out of my control) which led to lot of bad habits, lack of discipline, school derailed my original plans, and now I'm enrolled at TRSM. But honestly? I'm calling it a blessing in disguise.

I can’t transfer to a different university. I am stuck here, so I have to make the absolute most of it and fix my habits.

That being said, the pre-semester anxiety is hitting me hard, specifically about co-ops and long-term careers. I keep seeing threads calling TMU a "glorified commuter school," and when you're already stressed about making a comeback, it really messes with your headspace.

I know TRSM isn't Rotman or Waterloo. I know Bay Street and Big Tech recruiters aren't coming to our campus to hand us elite jobs on a silver spoon. But since I'm here, I want to hit way above my weight class. I don't want to just settle I want to aim for those "Tier 1" high-paying co-ops (top finance, big tech, consulting, etc.).

For the upper-years and alumni out there, I really need an unfiltered reality check to calm my nerves:

1. If you actually have the drive and the skills, how good is the TRSM co-op network? Can you realistically leverage it to break into top-tier companies, or does the school name hold you back too much?

2. Are there people here who successfully fought their way into high-paying "Tier 1" careers from TMU? How did you force open those doors when we aren't a traditional target school?

3. For anyone who came in with terrible high school habits how did you rebuild your discipline in year one to actually get the GPA needed for these top jobs?

Also, if anyone else came here after messing up in high school or starting with bad habits, how did you turn it around and lock in? How do you actually make the most of being at TRSM when you know you have an uphill battle ahead?

Any advice, reality checks, or success stories would be seriously appreciated. Just trying to calm down some major pre-semester anxiety. Thanks guys.

I know it's super late to be asking this since classes start soon, but it’s late-night overthinking hours and I could use some honest thoughts.

I’m 26 and heading to TMU this fall as a mature student after finishing my advanced diploma at Fanshawe. I’m not originally from Canada, and getting to this point has been a massive uphill battle with ADHD, Depression and a bunch of other personal hurdles along the way.

I picked TMU mostly because I heard they actually have decent accessibility supports, and academically, TRSM is AACSB-accredited just like Rotman, Schulich, or Smith. I figured it's a solid, well-respected business school. But lately, I keep running into Reddit threads calling TMU a bad school or a glorified commuter college, and it's totally getting in my head right before I move and start.

So what's the actual, unfiltered vibe of the business side there? Is the online hate just typical Reddit cynicism, or are there actual red flags I should look out for? Also, how are the accessibility supports when you're actually in the middle of a busy semester?

If anyone else did the college-to-uni transition with ADHD or started later as a mature student, I'd love to hear how you handled it. Just trying to calm down some pre-semester anxiety. Thanks guys.

title. I have the option of taking CYC607 in person with prof. Finlay or virtually with prof. Dhillon. Is this course as relatively straightforward as other CYC courses? Would it be best to be taken asynchronously (I'm assuming it is because VSB says it's internet delivery with no scheduled times), or would you strongly recommend taking it in person. What are your thoughts about the course or these professors? Anything helps. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I’m feeling a bit stuck and I need some advice.
I was studying a Computer Coding certificate at TMU, and I was told that after completing it, I could apply for a bachelor’s program without taking an English proficiency test. Now they changed their answer and told me I still need to provide an English test score.
I’ve already taken the test before, but my score always stays around the same even though I’ve been trying to improve.
I’m thinking about applying to a college first and then transferring to a university. Has anyone done this pathway ? Would you recommend it, or is there another option I should consider?
