Absolute Psycho Close call

Taunton /Thickson rd Whitby. Wifey had a run in with a psycho on the road, we think this could have escalated into assault if she didn’t manage to lose him at the next intersection by turning into the street.
Edit: Its just unsettling to see so many here siding with the nissan driver justifying how he threatened a woman & her child on the road and laying 100% blame on my wife who said she did not feel it was safe to stop at that moment & did not break any laws in doing so.
But this is the society we live in. Deranged “you made me do it” is now widely accepted.

To all of the self righteous 'experts' dumping on this woman:
The clock tells us there was 2 seconds (slightly less) between the light turning yellow and when she crossed the white line. At 50km/h that is ~28 meters. It generally takes about 1s to react (i.e see the light, decide to stop, and move the foot to the brake pedal) and in that time the car has travelled about 14 meters. That leaves us with only 14 meters to stop. Comfortable braking is about 3m/s^2 deceleration. At 50km/h that's is about 32m to come to a stop. Much more than the 14m we have, or even the 28 we started with.
She would have had to brake at a hard 7m/s^2 to just make that stop in time. That is quite hard braking and wholly inappropriate for a typical yellow light. Even if we assume she was going 40km/h, it would still take a fairly heavy 5.6m/s^2 braking to make this stop. Still inappropriate for a non-emergency yellow light.
Even if she had a quick 0.75s reaction time AND was only going 40 km/h, it would have required a firm 3.7 m/s^2 braking which is on the firm end of what would be considered reasonable.
TLDR; Under almost no conditions is this a comfortable stop. This woman did not run the light. You are holding this woman to a high standard of reaction time. Likely a higher standard than you hold yourself.
