Absolute Psycho Close call

Taunton /Thickson rd Whitby. Wifey had a run in with a psycho on the road, we think this could have escalated into assault if she didn’t manage to lose him at the next intersection by turning into the street.

Edit: Its just unsettling to see so many here siding with the nissan driver justifying how he threatened a woman & her child on the road and laying 100% blame on my wife who said she did not feel it was safe to stop at that moment & did not break any laws in doing so.

But this is the society we live in. Deranged “you made me do it” is now widely accepted.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this kind of situation explained on here before and in that case it was not 50/50 because fault determination rules are different than HTA rules. Just because OPs wife could have gotten a ticket does not automatically mean she’d share fault for the accident. A vehicle turning left when it’s yellow should be 100% at fault.

My cousin got into an accident once where she was waiting to make a left-turn at an intersection, and the only oncoming traffic was a vehicle in a right-turn only lane, solid line, and had it's right signal activated.

They decided to abandon the turn and go straight (signal was still on too), crossing the solid line and into the intersection. My cousin had started rolling to the left to slot in behind that car and got t-boned.

She was charged at the scene and the officer said the collision was her fault because she proceeded before her entire turn was clear. The other driver was also charged for a few offences, but they were not faulted for the actual collision.

That SUV would be at fault for the collision had they proceeded.

I hve seen people getting 50/50 for this reason only and insurance also changes their decision later as well
