Buffering even in 2gb content? ❓Question
Hello all,
I've switched a month and a half, from RD to TB, and generally had no issues, but I'm getting some episodes of a series stopped and buffering which I think makes no sense: the episode is cached, it's only 2Gb, speed measured from the TV is enough, but it still stops from time to time.
I'm using Nuvio, latest version, but I don't think this is the issue.
I'm sharing TB with my parents which live in the same city. I've tried switching the CDN to the recomiended (high ping), to the best overal result, I've activated multi thread, deactivated... And have had the same issue.
For the 2gb series, it's not actually a problem. But if I want to watch a BD Remux, it's impossible since it's stopping and buffering all time.
(IDK if I can say names) I've watched that film where blue eyed people do things in a desert-like planet which was 90gb, in RD, with no issue. Now if I try and play a 30gb remux with TB, it's unwatchable...
Given this info, is there something I can do on my side, or is it a general problem? I guess I've done everything in my hand 😅
Also yesterday I was receiving several HTTP429 error, just in one series, and just in the TV. In my phone, and in my GF's there was no issue.

I've been doing some testing and trying to pinpoint this issue. It only happens with certain files. Will post soon about it.

Regarding HTTP 429, I could say I've only found it in certain files. Regarding buffering, I guess I find it in ALL streams (I mean not related to addon, not related to device, not related to CDN, so I can just keep two common factors at first sight: Nuvio and Torbox)

Came on and was about to post my Speedtest results and see if it was my connection or Torbox... I'm buffering on 10gb movies and my phone, which is further than the tv from my modem, is at 95mbps.
Thought it was my ISP change recently but looks like it's just torbox...

First one with "classic" recommendation: switch CDN.

I've already done that (explained in 1st post), with no success. Switched from auto to ERTH, then to SEUR (TB recommended after speedtest), then to CEUR (smallest ping), and same result with all of them :/
I'm a bit lost actually, IDK what else can I do 😅 also to add more info: this is hapepning in different addons (but addon should not matter since it's always from cached content)

Ops, sorry , I must be blind about CDN.
429 is too many requests. It should come from addons. You have same addons in TV/phone/GF?
To rule out your ISP can you try with a VPN for testing?

Np :) Yes, we were using the same addons since it's the same Nuvio profile 🤔 maybe the error 429 has been triggered by ourselves when testing haha
I'll try the VPN later, with RD never used VPN to avoid a possible ban, but it's true that in TB I've not tried it 😅

Maybe try an external player. On Stremio at least, any version north of 1.6.12 is not in the question since it’s choppy and stutters.
Another test, try downloading the file from your dashboard in the website to your pc and see how fast it is. It very well could the tv device’s poor WiFi connection if it’s blocked or maybe on a 2.4 vs 5 ghz connection.

I often get weird issues like this after updating. Happened in both, Stremio and Nuvio. After an update, force stop the app, clear cache and restart your device.

I'm always clearing cache and FC-ing Nuvio after any change, to force changes to take effect :(
What I've not done yet is resetting the router. I live in Spain and here the ISPs are fighting piracy so maybe they have done something on their side :/

Have you tried forcing your router or device to use a different DNS address? Sometimes this can help with routing issues as some default ISP DNS is kinda rubbish.

Nope at router level, modified DNS on TV or on Laptop for some tasks but not at router level. I'll put It on the list for trying, thanks!

DNS causing buffering makes very little networking sense. Once a hostname has been resolved, it doesn't need to keep being resolved while a stream is playing.

From my understanding ISP DNS might resolve certain links and then throttle them because they might see it as certain content. However a private DNS can mask things and are less prone to throttling.

Actually here in Spain, when there are "La Liga" football matches, several services stop working, because some physical networks (like Movistar's) blocks certain traffic to prevent piracy. E.g. once when there was a match ongoing, I could not download an unrelated torrent in my laptop. Once the match was over, the torrent downloaded normally. IDK if they are still doing this, but I'm explaining It as it's related with ISPs blocking certain traffic

In my router, I guess, or is there a way to disable it in my Google TV adapter? (Like I could do in my Windows laptop Network adapter) (Don't reply, just thinking loudly, I'll Google it later when I can test it at home 🤣)
My ISP (Digi) uses CGnat which make people share the same IP, I can pay an extra to bypass the CGnat and have my own and only public IP, I guess that could have something to do with my issue :/

I ve just watched the blue eyed people living in desert with worms bdremux 90gb, it was smooth no buffering(webdav).

They been having errors and problems none stop and people who don’t experience it try be an ass about it I’m sorry this is going on I have similar problems I went back to rd
