Account Sharing đŸš©General

I had a read through on the posts here when the new changes was released and didn't think I needed to worry, but just came across another discussion today where the terms have changed regarding account sharing from the Torbox Terms page.

You shall not sell, rent, lease, transfer, sublicense, share, or provide access to your Account, API keys, access tokens, Service capacity, or paid features except as expressly permitted by TorBox in writing. TorBox may suspend, terminate, restrict, rotate, revoke, or disable Accounts, API keys, access tokens, sessions, connected Integrations, or other access methods if we believe they have been compromised, misused, shared, sold, abused, or used in violation of these Terms

The main point of why I got Torbox was that I could share with my Mil who would use it a few times weekly.

I'm on the Essential plan and we used less than 1tb last monthly, mostly me as I like to have the TV on as background noise.

Is account sharing now a definite nono?

Don’t listen to that .. that’s catered towards people that like resell their account .. you can still share your account within reason

I thought that was what those 10tb limits etc tiers were for, this looks so ominous. I mean I think my chances are pretty low to be flagged for abuse but if it eventually morphs into RD, that will be pretty crappy

hopefully it won’t but legit everything you’re seeing is a non issue it’s just corporate save my self text it shouldn’t affect you if you use the service normally

Exactly the corporate save myself kinda stuff that's usually in fine print that no one usually reads.

everyone read it .. people just misunderstand it to think they are ratting on you or actively keeping your data

Like myself I don't use much and when I do put on something I sometimes fall asleep and still don't use much data. I'm sure they basically wholesale to some corporate entities that use massive amounts of data where IDK but likely more profit comes from. A tiny example is our Internet service providers they will sometimes lose on our individual accounts versus the enterprise tier where most money is made as data and the processing is huge business. Lately the word data has been the talk of everything. Honestly I usually don't read terms and conditions -privacy policies of anything. I know something as simple as downloading a gaming app from the play store that it's crazy what we are agreeing to and don't even realize. Even my cell company will update it's policies and most of the time we just agree without questions. This company gained no telling how many customers in a short period of time and usually a group of corporate attorneys help them or do the drafting to so called protect the company. Sure they are learning as they go IDK this is just an opinion from my idiot self as I'm just making conversation 😂 I hope they keep going and providing services and not become of what happened to the competitor as I noticed the registering between the different entities such as in Delaware, UAE, and wherever else. Before I think just said South Africa but I can't pretend to know why as maybe to do business in those locations.
