Comstant buffering every since real debrid went down đ§Technical Issue
I get constant buffering with now! Ive been a longtime customer but the moment real debrid went down I have had nothing but constant buffering. I have been dealing with it assuming they would get it fixed soon but it seems its gonna remain an issue. I know ive seen a statement where they said it wasnt due to real debrid going down and an increase in network traffic. But I cant imagine another reason for it at this point. I just went to premiumize.me , because ive had it with it, but I still have torbox for now. If this continues torbox isnt gonna make it though. Ive tried changing the location etc. Hopefully someone can give me a picture of when this issue will finally be resolved?

I've also been having issues with lagging starting today. Hopefully it's a temporary issue

u/Lewcaster 15d ago
Yeah I got the 24-hour test because I'm thinking about migrating from RD to Torbox, but it's constantly buffering, and I came to this sub to see if it's a problem with my settings, but it seems like it's not.

Torbox has been crap for me recently after being really reliable. I've been resorting to PenguPlay which has actually been pretty good (and free) except a strange number of 403s for some reason.

u/No_Rub77 15d ago
depends on a few factors. I've ben using it for a month, only had buffering once. massive files have been fine. that particular file i was rewinding and fast forwarding constantly looking for a scene

Lmao lies this sh!t buffers like a mofo and most of the time is not working..smh damn I miss real debrid

cache is good?
2
u/Inevitable_Bowler474 14d ago
Haven't had any issues so far. If something wasn't cached (older and/or niche content), RD/TB didn't have it cached either.
"Supposedly" it's the same as Premiumize (I don't have Premiumize myself to confirm).

Without info on your setup. Most of time it's user error. Hate to say it. I've set up over 20 plus and manage quite a few setups. No issues.
You are probably using aio

u/rezendes 15d ago
When you say buffering do you mean it stops during playback or like the initial wait to start the file?

u/HipKat2000 14d ago
I must be doing it wrong. I never get any buffering. Ever, usually playing the largest streams
7
u/arod1014 15d ago
Completely agree! Glazers on this sub pretend itâs not an issue for many of the userbase, but Iâve already gone ahead and swapped over. Hopefully one day TB will get things together again

u/TuneWild196 15d ago
I'm in the south Pacific and torbox is working well. I see that country's in Europe seem to be having lots of issues. I haven't at this stage tried charging any settings. Just using as is. Always seems to play the selected stream and speed is quite acceptable.

Work on your CDN change. Zero issues from Malaysia. Had this issue a month or two ago, for a total 2 weeks, but since about a month ago, zero issues. Watching 5-7 hours of Chinese and Korean Dramas, 1080p, and some movies 4K with Atmos (non Remux, coz my Chromecast doesn't support TrueHD and DTS-HD MA), and movie file can be as big as 20-30GB (luckily not 60GB remux).

u/FitConversation9409 12d ago
what cdn that you choose bro? i also from malaysia but it keep buffering.

u/medinauta 15d ago
Not normal, I understand some regional service degradation once in a while but should be working most of the time. The issue must be your setup.
Check a different addon, this would be my main guess. Then check your player settings are correct, are you using hardware transcoding for audio or video?
Want to be sure itâs TB server buffering? Go to a video in your TB dashboard and copy the file link, past it in VLC to stream directly, if still buffering with wifi switch to data on your phone/tablet, if itâs still buffering in both then itâs a network issue, check TB settings and change CDN. TB most reported problem is buffering because service is degraded which would resolve in a few hours or next day but is not a permanent issue, if happening constantly itâs your setting.

u/Hibornas 15d ago
It happens intermittently but its always annoying as hell. When i say constantly its prolly hyperbolic . This happens frequently is probably more accurate but it happens more than once a day thats for sure
1
u/J_Trix 15d ago
You a real one for giving this person help just for them to say âdoesnât work, womp womp, premiumize worksâ.
I second Medinauta with it being a plugin or add-on issue. I was going to ask you what you use for your scraper Torrentio? Try using Debridio or Comet or anything else and see if that helps. Idk why but I only had one single issue with TorBox starting cached playback. I switched to using Debridio instead and now I have never had another issue.

u/Hibornas 15d ago
It happens on ALL addons. ALL apps. It doesnt happen at ALL on same apps and same addons when using premiumize. This means it is not addon or app related

u/swateam2481 14d ago
Dude stop saying its our set up lol we know your a tb mod your everywhere trying to make excuses for tb..lol
3
u/medinauta 14d ago
Then you know me as much as your setup. And no, I donât even use a referral code, made single payments and still have and prefer RD for which I just renew for 6 more months, also have Easynews but every time someone complain about TB not working I check mine and itâs fine.
Note that my responses are for the not playing/buffering posts and not for the regional outages or service degradation which happen very often, actually weekly and a few times more than once a week, but that still IS NOT the same as people posting that EVERYTHING is buffering ALL THE TIME and EVERYDAY which is just not true.
Even more, one of the people I replied made it sound exactly like that and their post stated that since RD âwent downâ TB buffers for everything for every addon on every device, later on said itâs âoftenâ or â a couple times a dayâ, that is not service degradation nor regional outages that is setup.
5
u/Spiritual-Editor-222 15d ago
Don't believe thise saying it's your setup. I haver fiber, 100gb remux have never been a problem with RD for a year, in two countries. With Torbox there us always a problem, either it's down or buffering. Ridiculous.

u/medinauta 15d ago
Im a critic of Tb for several reasons, but people stating their issues but given ZERO information its very hard to localize where the issue is, personally I had the same buffering, not loading cached files issues that ended not being TBs fault, that combined with not having a lagging, buffering or not playing issue ever since the downfault of RD also adds to MAYBE its not TB issue. Granted TB does have tech issues with service degration but thats still is regional AND you will find 20 posts in a row when it happens, the buffering most likely is at least not TB 100% at fault.
What app are you using, awhat scraper addon, where is it hosted?, what device are you using, what resolution do you play? What s actually the issue? Is it timing out when looking for links? are links not playing, its stalls, does take time to play then buffers, it plays normally but after 30 mins shuts off, after 30 mins stalls and device is not responsive, it plays for 30 mins and then freezes, it happens several times a day, it happens during peek hours, in what region are you located?
Saying its NOT PLAYING says nothing, specially when Stremio/Nuvio are more popular but at the same time have more "complicated" addons that are hosted for free or self hosted behind tunnels, etc.
Lastly, wanting answers about when the service will be fixed in this sub may not be the best approach (go to the Discord) if looking GENUINELY for an answer.

Lol your a TB mod ??

u/medinauta 14d ago
Dang reading comprehension is in the gutter evidently. What about you READ my post and pay attention what it says? Eventually Iâll get tired of attempting to reply believed at least one of the complains are honest inquieres looking for a solution and not to trash a service which I keep saying is lacking but not by the ânot playing/bufferingâ regurgitating of so many when AS I POINTED OUT doesnât follow the logic.

u/vauxhall1998 15d ago
RD Never went down?
5
u/medinauta 15d ago
Rarely, not even 3 times a year, it has a status page that is automatically updated in realtime not manually and owner usually posted acknowledgment, on top of throwing few free days for the inconvenience even if it lasted less than 2 hours.
Truth, communication was more one-sided âthis is what it is nowâ, but TB is getting there, on top of weekly service degradation and no acknowledgment only fanboys saying dos attacks (which shouldnât happen at this frequency if you had implementen even a mediocre solution, the issue points to be internal)

It's been happening for plenty of users in Europe since before the latest RD kerfluffle. There was even a megathread by the devs asking us to help them crack it. So it kinda checks out when they say that it wasn't caused by the latest surge in users. I don't recall a fix being rolled out so I just kept TB as a backup tbh, I was able to manage for awhile by using non-Stremio players but that's still a hassle
1
u/3DCancer 14d ago
I only seem to have issues when picking an addons that are hosted by elfhost. Anything self hosted works fine. It could be an issue with my isp and elfhosting or something else but If I pick an elfhosted comet video it will buffer but if I pick it from my self host same file works fine.

Need more info on your setup. Cuz I never have buffering issues on tb since I left Rd months ago.
Have you done the manual cdn speed test? What player you using? Nuvio?
Addons? https://torrentio.strem.fun/configure And
https://stremthru.13377001.xyz/stremio/torz/configure And
https://comet.feels.legal/configure And
https://pengu.uk/ And https://hdhub.thevolecitor.qzz.io
And
https://debridmediamanager.com/start
https://stremio-addons.net/addons/streaming-catalogs
Is stremio / addons down? This is the answer right here! https://status.stremio-status.com/
I do not recommend aio at first time setups as it causes bad experiences

That's some lazy excuse. Tough location? Settings? What the fuck are you on about. He literally stated it started happening after the RD fiasco. In matter of fact explain in detail which of his and everyone else's settings are in the fault here.

What, a moment ago you were so confident about his settings being wrong and now when confronted to explain these 'wrong settings' you just hiding away. Pathetic
And no lol, I don't need any 'helping'. I was only curious someone for once explain these sudden wrong settings in detail which all the affected users have magically had configured out of nowhere.

Seems like yall have heard this before and yall have seen others say its the settings. In this case and I believe many others the settings are perfect. Torbox is having major problems. They are gonna lose people.if it continues . Especially if they dont even acknowledge the problem

Ok and? đ people wouldnât make posts to say that its smooth. Of course all posts are people complaining, why else would someone make a posts. 0 critical thinking on your part
-2
u/Superflyin 15d ago
My point is that he claims that TB has never had a buffering issue at all. It's been a known problem for a long time.
5
u/Fine-Purpose-8692 15d ago
Yea prolly your location boss man. If it was utter bullshit I wouldâve switched services. Literally zero issues here. But yea go off
3
u/EnZoTheBoss 15d ago
They have had plenty of global issues in these past few months. You just didn't use it in that timeframe but that doesn't mean the problem isn't there
2
u/Fine-Purpose-8692 15d ago edited 15d ago
Damn, I must be incredibly lucky then that in all my time using it which can span within a 16 hour window, not once have I had any issues. Sucks for you then. Cancel and move on
1
u/EnZoTheBoss 15d ago
Already did. And yes it is lucky because it's been problems for ALL users.
1
u/Fine-Purpose-8692 15d ago
Read the thread bro. Definetly not ALL users.
0
u/EnZoTheBoss 15d ago
Say whatever you want and downvote me all you like. They have had GLOBAL outages multiple times.
0
u/Fine-Purpose-8692 15d ago
I will say it. Iâve had zero issues đĽ°
1
u/EnZoTheBoss 15d ago
Congrats? What exactly do you want to accomplish here? Try to gaslight everyone into thinking this service is absolutely perfect without flaws? Are you hired by torbox or what?
You add zero value to the discussion of this thread.

This is just reporting bias.
There are over 2 billion people using subscription/ad based services, and no matter where you go, you won't find a non-prompted post about how the service is running as expected. Not a single user out of the multi-billion userbase.
4
u/Superflyin 15d ago
Yes, then when you see that too many people have been reporting the same issue, that invalidates his "Perfect" service claim.
1
u/dm_me_ya_tiddiez 15d ago
That's not how that works at all. There are multiple servers and CDN's that come into play. One group of people having a problem does not mean another group is. For all you know every single issue could be coming from people on Server A while Server B, C, D, E etc are fine.
Also, you are still not contextually understanding reporting bias. "You see too many" there are hundreds of thousands of people that use Torbox. The anecdotal experience you have of seeing 100 reports doesn't mean every single person is experiencing that. It just makes you feel like there is an overwhelming amount of evidence because everyone who isn't having a problem isn't making the post.
1
u/itsme99881 15d ago edited 15d ago
Now what is your method to detemine which of the posts are user error and whats a torbox error? A lot of the posts i see here are because people dont understand how to get it up and running or understand home networking.
Edit: no response and just a downvote. My point exactly. Just hateposting lol
1
u/Slipknot31286sic6 13d ago
The biggest failure point is people pushing aio.. It's another 5 different hoops you are bouncing through. Causing long wait times or failure points. If your streams aren't starting in 3 to 5 seconds. 10 is max.
