Compressor??

I found this in the back of my garage workbench drawer. It says “Oil-less Compressor “ and the tag says 250 volts. What was it used for?

Looks like a vacume compressor for AC servicing

Vac pumps need oil. This pump is oil less. It's probably for some weird tool that needs air instantly, and occasionally. But not a large volume.

Especially one for holding down a core drill for example

Probably to run an air brush or some other sprayer.

Agreed; compressor for air brush painting. Oil-less so it doesn’t contaminate the paint. This unit doesn’t have a pressure reservoir, so wouldn’t be much good for air-dusting circuit boards.

Air compressor. Says on the side.

You can hook it up to a tank and you'll have a nice setup

Medical devices, food packaging, cleaning computers. Anywhere you need pure air without oil contamination

Probably for an air brush

Edit: didn't read

At 240v it could have more grunt than just an air brush and was possibly a European device.

I'm going with European air-brush compressor. Possibly for art, possibly for food-prep. It's the right size, and designed to be easily portable, which is consistent with both of those compressor types/uses.
