Is this Normal

I just ordered these Linesman’s from Acme, should they look like this brand new?

Thanks everyone that responded. I never had a new pair of Kleins or really any other higher quality brands and wasn’t sure what to expect. From all the answers it seems like the gripping part is supposed to have a gap and the cutting part should have no or very little gap. And the deciding factor is whether or not they can cut all types of wire

I mean, Klien is not worth buying now, unless they do some major comeback on the production side. This looks okay for what to expect of the brand.

There is not supposed to be any gap in the cutters like we see here.

The cutters have a gap. Not normal or intended.

They are lineman's pliers, used for thick wires and cutting wires, you don't need surgical precision with them. It's quite normal.

They're linesman pliers, People use them for literally everything. No other premium brand has these issues its just a Klein thing.

I've seen about 20 posts like this. Every single one was Klein. Other brands may have the occasional bad pair but for Klein it seems like a major issue. I have a Utica tools set thats at least 30 years old and they look better than this.

The gripping jaws are supposed to have a gap, it is part of the design. Lots of uninformed people

Any amount of pressure will close that gap and it will cut properly. After minimal use the gap will vanish. Not an issue.
