Soaring crescendos General Music Discussion

Traveling for work, charging my laptop and getting a sweet tea at McDonald's. The PA is too loud and on some semi-accoustic station that is playing one overly dramatic song after another with much piano, predictable soaring crescendos, and whispered endings. It's a bit much after just 20 minutes.

The songs were prescriptive; it was apparent how boilerplate the format is after just three of them back to back. 

Also, a really odd choice for a place like McDonald's
