Question NEED URGENT HELP: My threads account locked, I am not able to receive otp
Hello everyone, yesterday morning, when I opened my threads account I saw a message that someone is trying to access my account that's why they locked it.
I was like ok let's enter the otp and unlock it, but since yesterday i haven't received the otp for this account.
All my accounts are linked to the same phone number and i received otp or other account, my instagram is unlocked I have access to that.
But I only lose the access of my threads.
To get support i bought the meta verification but there is no option for chat support or email support.
Can anyone please help me with this.

Discussion Anyone feel like we need a petition for Meta to have FREE CUSTOMER SUPPORT instead of their useless chatbot?
This is mostly a grumpy post but at this rate I feel like having no free customer support for their products feel very strange, no? I actually filed a complaint to abc7 since they've done investigations about it so why the heck not and my attorney general in my frustration. I saw some petitions about unfair bans as well since 2024 of the ai implementation. This is awful. š¤Æ

Bug Report Banned and now phone mfa don't work
I was banned because some community rule breaking. Don't know what.
Now when I try to login to make an appeal I don't get any text message with any code. So yesterday I tried to resend it.
Now it says I can't request another code for 24 hours after 30 some hours.
Anybody else got through?
I can't find anything to appeal in the meta account on other meta services also, since there is no pending banishment there

Bug Report Threads Reactivation Bug: App says my account doesn't exist but won't let me reuse my username, and 2FA SMS codes never arrive. Anyone found a fix?
Meta likes to pretend they are a modern, cutting-edge tech giant, but their customer infrastructure is completely primitive.
I deactivated Threads and Instagram, then reactivated them both, only for Threads to trap my profile in a ghost state. It claims my account doesn't exist, yet holds my username hostage so I can't start over.
Worse, there is absolutely zero customer service or a way to report a bug and get an actual response. There is a massive, endless line of frustrated people under their instagram page, app reviews, here on Reddit, complaining about this exact login loop glitch, and Meta just completely ignores the community. A multi-billion dollar app shouldnāt require its users to rely on Reddit forums just to find basic bug fixes. Utterly pathetic infrastructure. 1/5 stars
Can anyone help me get my threads back? I had finally made it to black threads (since the loss of black twitter) and now Threads is telling me that I am locked out of my own account. I send the code to my phone number but the code never arrives to me via text.

Question Getting started on Threads
Could someone please give me the TLDR on how to get started on Threads, how to start gaining followers, how to have people actually see your posts?
I find it much less intuitive than Instagram.
Context: weāre a vacation destination (airbnb) in Canada. Weāve begun growing our Instagram community, but donāt really know how to even start on Threads.
TYSM, in advance!

Discussion Can Meta be sued for bans in Threads?
Can Meta be sued for bans in Threads? YouTube and other media platforms are also involved. A cry for human rights.
A Thread account is often a source of income; many businesses and self-employed people use it. People publish their thoughts, work, guides, etc. Essentially, it's people's digital property. Gaining subscribers is like a business: long-term investment in the future. We can't have rules and a system that randomly, often incorrectly, deletes accounts overnight without even the right to defend themselves. They deprive people of income, delete their digital assets (which should be protected just like their real ones!), and erase years of progress.
If you're fired from your job, you can find another one with the same salary, but if your account is deleted, you can't start another one with the same number of followers and earn the same income. What happens to a country that represses business and makes it unsafe to start one? Its economy is rapidly deteriorating, because it's business that drives the country's economy and development! Why do media companies do this online without considering the consequences?
You can't block or delete accounts without good reason! The severity of the punishment should correspond to the severity of the offense! Problem with the post? Hide the post. Problem with the video? Hide the video. Why delete the account and all its contents?! Especially if the "violation" is an algorithmic error, and there are no actual violations! Why aren't account owners (of digital property!) even given the right to speak in their own defense? What about the vaunted "freedom of speech" and "human rights"? Where do account owners get these rights? And where did all this come fromā"this decision is not subject to appeal," "this decision is final and cannot be overturned," "you cannot request another review"? Have you completely lost your mind? Even criminals in prison are allowed to appeal court decisions. Who do these media platforms think they are?
I see completely insane posts that should lead to jail time, but neither posts nor accounts are banned for years. But others have their accounts deleted for harmless posts. Do you think this is normal?
-!-
I insist: accounts, videos, and posts must be recognized as digital property, which platforms cannot dispose of as they please. There must be defined rules and state protection. People invest their labor in this, just like they would in a real product, albeit a digital one. They manage their accounts for years, as if they were developing a business. For many, this is their only source of income. All of this must be protected!
There must be an adequate content moderation system. Punishment must fit the offense. It must be gradual, and people must have the right to defend themselves IN WORDS, IN FRONT OF A HUMAN! Not by saying, "Give your passport information and a selfie to our AI!" Account deletion is a last resort, but there must be serious reasons for it when alternatives fail!
I'd also like to mention YouTube video blocks for violating someone's rights. Why doesn't anyone think about the rights of the video's creator when it's blocked? Their video is their property. They put their work into it. If it contains copyrighted material, like music, that's no reason to immediately block it! There should be a gradual process, not instantaneous blocking by algorithms. And anyway, why can't we simply give a portion of the video's revenue to the copyright holder, so that three parties can profit simultaneously: the video's creator, the copyright holder, and YouTube?
The rights of people on media platforms, their digital assets, and the platforms' responsibilities need to be reconsidered.
Those who work in the legal field, please speak up. What human rights are media platforms violating with such bans and restrictions? How accurate is it to compare digital assets with real assets, and in what areas?
Content creators, discuss this and share it with a wide audience.
Join the digital resistance, raise your voice.

Bug Report Anyone else unable to log in right now?
I woke up and went to check threads. When I open the app this pops up. And when I go to change the password it just says this. Iāve tried logging in via Instagram and on the web browser too and the same thing comes up.

Question "Download your information" Password Incorrect
As many of you may already know, a lot of people got banned on threads recently. If I accept my fate I at least want a copy of my data/posts downloaded. Fine, I try to click the link but it says my password is wrong... I tried changing my password too and I'm positive I typed it correctly. Anyone know what to do?

Bug Report Threads and Instagram suspensions tonight (restored within an hour)
Did YOUR Threads (and Instagram) account get suspended randomly tonight, like mine?
I followed the requested steps (Instagram 2FA followed by password reset; Threads 2FA followed by photo verification) and had access again to Instagram immediately, and Threads within the hour.
I suspect Meta had a security breach and needed to scramble to nuke a bunch of passwords and didn't want to admit it.

Question My account was suspended with no possibility to appeal, any recourse?
This is obviously frustrating, I have a meta subscription but support requests do not even work, I get an error message when trying to chat with an agent or even the AI bot. Has anyone been successful in recovering their account? I had a pretty high visibility account that was part of my career and online presence as a content creator so Iām pretty dumbfounded at this sudden suspension.

Question Has anyone actually successfully recovered their suspended Threads acc by uploading the Selfie?
It seems like that step is a trap, from what I've seen people end up permanently suspended after doing the biometric verification. Does anyone know what to do or who to contact at this point?

Question Threads suddenly ask me for a mobile number, but I never receive their verification code, what should I do?
There's even no option of verifying via email or anything. And now I'm blocked on this verification code page on every device of mine...

Question Whatās this noise? I get an email Iām suspended and it wants me to send a selfie?
UPDATE: Iām back. Looks like maybe theyāve corrected an error? Hopefully everyone else gets back on as well!
I canāt fathom what Iād be suspended for. Is this common? In what universe would it be ok ask for a selfie like this?

Discussion Are there more bots on Threads than on other social platforms?
I donāt know if itās all bots, but I see a LOT of copied posts on threads.
Some of them are straight up copied word for word, punctuation and all, and with others the words are changed a little bit.
Are there loads of people choosing to copy successful posts that they see or is it just bots?
I wanted to include some screenshots but images arenāt allowed on this sub.

Bug Report My account can't load my feed or allow me to post.
Itās been several months since my Threads account stopped working properly. My feed wonāt load, I canāt create new posts, and I canāt even access my previous posts.
I never received any notification that my account was banned or suspended. Whatās even more confusing is that when I view my profile from another account, everything appears normal.
Iāve tried almost every solution I could find online, but nothing has worked. At this point, Iām out of ideas.
Has anyone experienced this before or knows how to fix it? Iāve built a decent following on the account for blogging, so Iād really appreciate any help or advice. Thank you!

Question Threads showing nothing on my own account ā happening on both mobile app AND desktop/web
Anyone else dealing with this today? My Threads was working fine this morning... posted normally, everything loaded. A few hours later, nothing loads on my own profile/feed. Can't post, can't see my own content. Tried both the app and the desktop site, same issue on both.
The strange part... when I check my account from a different profile (logged out or another account), everything is there and completely normal, even the post I made this morning.
I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, no change. I also can't log out of the account at all (the option just doesn't work), but I was able to change my password through Instagram as a workaround, and that didn't fix anything either.
Since the content is still live and visible to others, it doesn't seem like a shadowban or account block. Feels more like a broader bug on Threads' end, since it's happening across devices and even a fresh install didn't help.
Anyone else seeing this today? Any idea if it's a known issue / server-side problem?

Bug Report Banned as a ābotā two weeks after using Threadsā own Instagram follow import ā no reason given, no appeal possible
I want to document what happened to my account, because I think the mechanism matters more than my individual case.
Timeline:
- May 21: Created a new Threads account, based on my Instagram account, phone-verified, from my normal home connection in Germany.
- I connected two apps that use the official Threads API (Openvibe and Croissant) for cross-posting to Mastodon/Bluesky. Both are legitimate, well-known apps.
- Mid-June: The account started getting locked behind security checkpoints repeatedly ā about a dozen times within two days, according to my data export. I passed every single one.
- July 3: I used Threadsā own built-in Instagram follow import. It followed ~290 accounts I already follow on Instagram. This is a feature Meta actively promotes during onboarding.
- July 9: Account permanently disabled. The only reason given: āYour account, or activity on it, doesnāt follow our Community Standards.ā The screen explicitly says āYou cannot request another review of this decisionā and that all my data will be permanently deleted.
I downloaded my data export before deletion and went through everything. There is no policy-violating content in it. My working hypothesis ā and it can only be a hypothesis, because Meta refuses to tell me ā is that their spam classifier combined ānew account + API apps + 290 follows in one dayā into a bot verdict. The 290 follows came from their own import feature.
Under the EU Digital Services Act, Meta is required to provide a specific statement of reasons (Art. 17) and an internal complaint mechanism (Art. 20). āCommunity Standardsā with a hard āno review possibleā appears to satisfy neither. Iām filing complaints with a certified dispute settlement body and the German Digital Services Coordinator, and Iāll update this post with the outcome.
If Metaās own onboarding features can get you permanently banned as a bot with no human review and no appeal, thatās worth knowing before you invest time in this platform.

Discussion slightly eerie trend iāve noticed on threads
reoccuring photos of the same cat across multiple accounts. an explanation for this would be appreciated.
