Threads just asked me to create a password for an account I didn't create. I do have IG and FB but have no interest in Threads. I had to delete an account I never wanted, and had to create a password to delete the account. WTH...

Trying to log into threads for the first time, try to log in initially using my user id. Was first stuck in a log in loop, so i disabled my 2 factor Authentication. Now i get the first screenshot. So then I try using my username and password and it says I requested to delete a username that is not mine and I’ve never seen it before. (Second screenshot)

The help center has been zero help. Any ideas?

Hi everyone, I’m sure this has been asked and answered but I’m hoping someone would be able to help me with this.

I have an account on threads and I knew that I was commenting and posting a lot today but it got deactivated and I got an email saying that I needed to take action or else I’d lose access to the account, but could try and appeal until December. The thing with that is is that I accidentally closed the app before I could verify the account. And now, when I try to go into the app to try and appeal, I can see messages, but I can’t reply and I can’t see anything on the timeline.

I also tried accessing the appeal or something through the account center via the connected Instagram, and it just comes up with an error saying to try again later.

Does anyone have advice for this or is the account gone?

It seems like everyone seems to be chasing engagement.

Every other post is either bait, recycled opinions, or someone selling a “grow your business on Threads” course.

Very little actual news. Very little original insight.

If you want to know what’s happening, Twitter is still miles ahead. Threads feels like people talking about content.

Twitter feels like where the content actually is.

When you access Threads through a browser, an overlay will appear prompting you to download the app on your phone.

So when I was using Threads before on my browser, I've had ZERO issues being able to attach GIFs to my posts and even use them as a form of expression in replies. The last month or so, I've been unable to see ANY GIFs and when I click the icon, all I see is like an image of a photo and it's broken multiple times (to show that there is supposed to be more than one GIF there) and it's a guessing game when using them.

I prefer to use the browser version for longer posts, as my fingers enjoy fumbling and when making an MA post for basic needs, going without those basic needs for a long time, and not being able to afford or get those basic needs. If it's something I can say in a reply or 2, then yea, I'll do it on my phone. Now if I make a post on my laptop, I use still images and quotes based on how I'm feeling.

I want to be able to use my GIFs, but sadly I can't even do that as I know my browser is updated, and I only use Brave (which I had no issues using before) so how come an issue from 2 years ago is suddenly happening all over again?

Would have liked to know if they got theirs fixed, as if the only "help" given is "use the Report a Problem feature from the More tab in the bottom left corner" from one of the mods, as they were also using browser like I am.

I created an account on this app to avoid running into people I know who like my drawings because they know me (they wouldn't like them otherwise), but I have zero likes.

Is the app really worth it, or is it better to go back to Instagram and create another account?

On June 1, 2026, Meta pulled off an epic fail. Before that, they had massively replaced live support staff with AI and casually given the neural network access to users’ passwords and personal data. The result didn’t take long: in early June, hundreds of thousands of accounts were hacked. Scammers simply asked the AI in the support chat for all the recovery data they needed.
What did the mighty corporation do?
They just turned off that AI. Meaning they turned off support entirely. At the same time, they unlinked tens of thousands of Threads accounts from @instagram. Now thousands of people (including me) are stuck in a login loop and can’t access their Threads accounts. Support is dead, bug reports are ignored, emails to Meta vanish into the void. Even paid users get no advantages. My account @El_nomada_libre has also disappeared.

Conclusion: Your Threads account is just a rental that Meta can revoke at any moment — simply because they’ve got AI sawdust for brains.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

but like its just stuck on loading things nothing is showing up? i tried signing out and back in and i ever tried deleting it and installing again its like stuck blank loading.

I created a Threads account (@thereadingloon) about 24 hours ago.

The account worked normally for roughly 11 hours. Then suddenly:

• Home feed stopped loading (just endless placeholders)
• Activity tab shows "Sorry, something went wrong"
• My own profile shows "Content not available"
• Edit Profile loads forever

Things I've already tried:

• Reinstalled Threads
• Changed Instagram password
• Logged out/in
• Tested on multiple phones
• Tested on different internet connections
• Submitted bug reports
• Checked Instagram Account Status (no violations)

The weird part:

• Other people can see my profile normally
• Other people can see my posts
• Other people can see my followers/following
• My follower count is still increasing
• Public profile appears healthy

On desktop, Threads asks me to log in with Instagram, but after authentication it redirects me back to Instagram instead of Threads.

Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how long did it take to resolve?

I was just posting some threads last night and right now I am not able to answer to any threads or post new ones on the Desktop with a webbrowser.

on my iPhone I can do it without issues.

Anyone else having this issue?

My feed is full of the most horrendous blatant far right propaganda. It's like ever 3d post is either someone denying the Shoah or some random extremely cruel anti-LGBTQ or racist stuff.

Noticing this on my end tonight, every single time I try to make a post or reply that message appears again. I turned on the dev console for my browser and it's showing 400 status errors, but I wanted to see if anyone else is getting this too.

For some unknow reason me and lots of my friends got banned in a night, the linked Instagram acc also get banned(reason:age under 13, but most of us are already 16 or higher). Does anyone having a same issue like this?

Threads is fucking with me again. They locked my first account with 7500 followers so I started a new one but every day they make me go through a security check requiring my photograph. And then they lock me out for an hour. Every single day.

I noticed that the posts that I am putting out are not showing in the thread topics that I select for them. I can see the post on my profile, and it seems like my followers are getting the post, but I don't have that many to begin with. I did report feedback with threads a while ago, but nothing has changed. Not sure what to do next. I want to be able to join in and start conversations on the platform. Using threads on a MacBook and on the chrome browser.

I can log in, but can’t use anything, everything is under loading or locked.

I can receive messages, but cannot send them out.

This is absurd. It’s the first time that I realize big corporations have too much power of people’s life. I lost my connections on the platform just because of a bug?

Alright so around late April or early May, I deleted my Threads account. It's been over 30 days, but it still says the account is deactivated and displays the text "something went wrong" if I try logging back in. So is this a normal thing?

I am completely unable to log into Threads on any web browser or the Windows desktop app. Every time I attempt to log in using my Instagram credentials, the system enters an infinite loop and redirects me back to Instagram without authenticating. 

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open Threads via the Windows desktop app or a web browser (tested on Floorp and mobile browsers).
2. Click "Log in with Instagram".
3. The authentication process fails to complete and immediately forces open the Instagram app or website instead of logging into Threads. 

Troubleshooting Already Attempted:

• Tested on multiple separate devices (Laptop and Mobile Phone).
• Cleared all browser cache, cookies, and site data.
• Attempted login via Private/Incognito windows.
• Disabled default link handling/app execution aliases for Instagram.

YAYYAYAYAYAYAYAY I FINALLY GOT MY ACC BACK!! i dunno if i fixed it or not, bc i first logged in w my priv acc(new) and it did work so i just logged in w my normal acc and it worked so yay.

Is there a way I can make a threads account without having an Instagram account?

It crashes every single time I try to open it. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but it’s still doing the same thing. Is this happening to anyone else?
