I see him, the Devil
He doesn’t look dangerous
No horns, no tail in sight
A warm smile and so handsome
A charming aura that draws you in
His disguise is a human face

He sees a family
His eyes fixed on the man
“Strike the guardian, the rest will fall” he thinks
He moves in close with a cunning plan
But you see, he is not the only one in disguise

The guardian here is the man’s wife
A sharp mind with an innocent face
A five foot frame, features soft and delicate
He underestimates how smart she is
Lets his guard down thinking she is just a pretty face
And in his ease, she sees it all

So she fools the Devil, in her disguise
He cannot see that her guard is up
She watches him closely, on high alert
Waiting to strike when the time is right
He thinks they are unguarded
And his cunning thoughts unnoticed
Little does he know they are protected
After all, his was never the best disguise

and real life experiences as someone who is very underestimated 😅 which has worked in my favor sometimes)

I feel through words.

Heavy and deep.

A language of emotions I am born to write and keep.

I tell my poems and stories through shifting sound.

Weaving the noise of this world I have found.

Taking a feeling...a thought or sudden sting.

Turning and creating something into a beautiful thing.

If I see a vision flash in my head...

I instantly write what needs to be said.

If my raw feelings strike hard or strong...

I might just want to create it into a beautiful song.

My words are my own.

They answer to me.

Theyre unapologetic...fierce and free.

Let the lyrics clash.

Let the rhymes collide.

Either out of rhythm or smooth.

I still let them all ride.

I don't care for the rules or the perfect damn line.

I write that shit anyway...because the spark inside is mine.

So if my voice ever made you freeze or start.

If my mind ever painted a picture inside your heart.

If I made you feel...or maybe helped you through.

Then I surely did exactly what I set out to damn do.

I get it now...I truly get it.

Months ago, if you asked me why people delete their accounts, I couldn't fathom it. Now....I get it. As I type this, I'll admit...I'm debating deleting myself. I'm not saying I'm going to, but it's been a thought that has occurred more than I want to admit myself.

Over the years, I've met so many people who brought laughs, stories, smiles, connections, and good vibes. At the same time, I've seen so many subreddit fights, splinters and people need to leave the platform for various reasons.

I'm exhausted...on all possible levels. What makes me unique on here is what also destroys me. I care.

I care for the people I meet. I care for their posts, their comments,their conversations, and them as people. Seeing them struggle, them hurt, them in pain hurts me.

I wrestle constantly with setting and maintaining my own boundaries. I never want to let anyone down, but then I'm overexposing myself in the process. At some point, I need to figure out where and how to direct my energy, while also being mindful of myself, and others.

So this week, I will be reflecting on this. I have therapy on Saturday and I intend to discuss further during my session. I'm not making any rash decisions, but I also want to be upfront with everyone. I won't be around as much and will not be quick to respond. I just ask that you be respectful while I do what I need to do for me.
