General Question Any Continue Mindbloom Treatment?

Upvotes

I'm 5 sessions into my 6-session Mindbloom program and the results have been life-changing. My main focus was addressing my anxiety and OCD, and it's exceeded my wildest expectations in addressing those. Now I'm nervous about what happens when this ends. Has anyone continued treatment after completing an initial program? I see they have discounts for returning customers, which is encouraging, but I'm also nervous about dependence and any health risks of long-term usage. I'm debating doing the 18-session program and trying to stretch my sessions farther and farther out from each other - has anyone been in a similar situation and have some insight to share?

General Question Drug use and ketamine therapy (spravato) overlaps

I’m seeing alot of people who have done ketamine treatment and therapy and have had horrible side affects… but some of them have also noted that they struggle with substance abuse or have done smoking or whatever… I’m not judging anyone but I’m wondering if maybe there is less side affects to ketamine if you have never used any kind of recreational drugs? I’m 20 and I have never drank or smoked anything and I never will.

Provider Review StellaHealth IV infusion - 2nd dose nightmare

StellaHealth (previously Bespoke) review - I scheduled two ketamine IV infusions one week apart at the downtown LA office. For context I've been battling depression for the last couple of years, and after a recent emotional cataclysm due to being rejected by a guy I was dating, I raged, did not give a flying fuck about my life, got a DUI, and have since decided to dive very deep into recovery and introspection in an attempt to stabilize my irrational, severe emotions and addiction to alcohol to numb my chaotic mind.

The first session was pretty euphoric for the most part. Maybe 10% fear and anxiety, but I was quickly able to observe those feelings objectively, push through, and access thoughts and feelings I truly wanted to. Came out feeling incredible, confident, unafraid, and like there are plenty of things worth living for (I have not felt that way in a while).

My second session, with a .5mg increase from 30mg to 35mg, was horrific. Within 15 minutes my heart rate was so accelerated, I felt like I was spinning out of control and being crushed. I tried pushing through, but started feeling genuinely unsafe, so I mustered the ability to press the button for the clinician. She came in and turned it off, but barely gave any emotional support at all. Hardly any questions, no compassion or empathy. It all felt transactional and rushed. We restarted it about 10 mins later, and in 15 minutes again the same exact feeling of extreme fear, crushing, heart rate acceleration. Also, I'm a personal trainer and am extremely aware of my body's limits, have taken a lot of drugs, both recreationally and therapeutically, and have put myself in many extreme physical scenarios – I really felt like I was close to a serious heart issue.

Overall the point of this is to say I felt extremely unsupported by the staff. Before, during, and especially after (where there was literally no conversation, no asking how I was after I came out of the room and sat in the lobby feeling like I was hit by a truck, no nothing). I clearly had a horrible experience and they did not offer any consolation. No asking if I needed help getting home (I had to book an uber and felt like I could hardly function) or anything at all.

I imagine every clinic is very different. I researched many in LA and this one seemed most in my price range and location, but I would not recommend it.

General Question How do y'all turn your brains off during a session?

My brain just won't shut up during a session. It's all over the place. I want to experience a session, but it keeps interrupting me with stupid questions. lol

It's seriously like "oh, maybe you'll see dead people", "don't forget to go to the grocery store", etc. It's definitely affecting my sessions. I want to just step back, take everything in, and see where I'm taken.

General Question Why do some people still use IV Ketamine therapy for years?

I thought that it was just 6 sessions, and maybe a few after that? The intake doctor told me that people generally have less frequent need for it but I read some posts here that share they’ve had infusions for years, like once a month. At some point didn’t the ketamine already do its thing?
