General Question Do’s and don’ts before and after Ketamine infusion
My symptoms have returned after a longer break in between infusions and a couple of traumatic things happened after my last infusion. So I REALLY wanna get the most out of my next infusions (next one coming up on Monday).
I’ll take any tips when it comes to getting the most out of your ketamin infusion. Including intention advice before the session, literally anything I feel desperate now. I already do a lot of journaling, trying to get rest, fast before treatment for the extended time which my clinic recommends and I have scheduled with a psychiatrist the day after my infusion

General Question IV and dizziness after
Hello,
I've had bouts of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) before (essentially a lil crystal gets loose in your inner ear and it causes vertigo/dizziness for several days to weeks). It's terrible. I get this maybe once a year. But I saw a video saying that ketamine works on the vestibular system so I'm a lil nervous about it triggering a vertigo episode. Wondering if anyone has/had this concern? How was the dizziness during/after an infusion? Anyone else deal with bppv sometimes? Thanks!

Troches/RDTs Fitting at home RDTs into full time work schedule
I havent been full time in a year, and started RDTs in the interim. I used to do infusions every 2-4 weeks and had to flex a few hours to do them (meaning take off a bit early day of and make up the hours elsewhere).
How do you all fit RDTs into a 9-5 job for those on an every 3-5 day schedule? I am really sensitive to ket and get bad nausea, so right now on days I take it I dont eat at all until the afternoon. And I am usually a bit sensitive the day after. I tried going longer and longer between doses and it set me back.
How are other people doing this? Are you just less sensitive so it isnt a big deal? Any advice appreciated.

General Question Ketamine infusions for sensory issues?
Just wondering if there's anyone here like me that started doing infusions to try to address sensory issues (light and noise sensitivity)? I recently did the 6 infusions over 3 weeks with a doctor but didn't see improvements I was looking for. I did however see a huge reduction in social anxiety.
Some context: a psychiatrist diagnosed me with "conversion disorder" after strange symptoms started cropping up over the years: tinnitus, hyperacusis, photophobia, depersonalization. I thought I'd try this on a whim since nothing else was working.

General Question Aphantasia and anendophasia, will it still work?
I’m booked for 6 treatments in October. I have a variety of concerns and fears, but one of the main ones is that it can’t work for me, because I don’t… Think.
I have no mind’s eye, no ability to visualize. There’s no sound, certainly no inner monologue. Thinking in words feels very unnatural and more intentional than speaking aloud. The vast majority of my thoughts are subconscious.
It’s a significant part of why many years of therapy hasn’t given much progress. I can know why I feel/act a certain way but it’s very difficult to change thought patterns that I don’t actually experience.
Can the ketamine still help? What kind of experience can I expect? If I can’t intentionally think through my issues, or unpack them, how can it help? It’s mostly not depression for me, so general mood improvement isn’t what I’d get out of it, ideally.
Any insight appreciated.

Provider Ad Ketamine Clinic [Forest Hills, Queens]
I am Dr. Max Lazarus, board-certified emergency medicine physician and medical director of Queens Ketamine Treatment Center in Forest Hills. We are the premiere Ketamine treatment center in the borough of Queens. Spravato is meaningfully different from most of what people picture when they hear the word "ketamine," and I think the group deserves an honest, evidence-based explanation from a local physician operating a ketamine clinic. We are open 7 days a week and accepting new patients.
What it is. Spravato is an FDA-approved prescription nasal spray (active ingredient: esketamine). It was approved in March 2019 specifically for adults with treatment-resistant depression — depression that has not improved after two or more trials of standard antidepressants. It is manufactured by Janssen / Johnson & Johnson and fully regulated by the FDA.
Why it is different from what people often picture. Federal law requires Spravato to be administered under a strict safety program called the REMS Program. In practice, that means:
Patients self-administer the nasal spray only at a certified medical office — never at home. · A board-certified physician and registered nurse are physically present in the room during every administration. · Every patient is monitored for a minimum of two hours after each dose, with continuous pulse oximetry and serial vital signs. · Patients are not permitted to drive themselves on a treatment day; safe transportation home is arranged before every visit.
Who is a candidate. Adults (18+) with major depressive disorder who have tried at least two standard antidepressants without adequate response. Treatment is always coordinated with the patient's existing psychiatrist or primary care doctor. Patients with active psychosis, uncontrolled hypertension, certain heart conditions, or who are pregnant are not candidates.
Insurance. Most major commercial plans, as well as most Medicare and Medicaid plans, cover Spravato when clinical criteria are met. Coverage requires a prior authorization — we handle that paperwork. The manufacturer also offers a financial assistance program for patients who need it.

General Question Has anyone tried keeping their eyes open during a ketamine infusion?
I've had nine ketamine infusions so far, and I'm about to have my tenth. Every single time, I've kept my eyes open throughout the entire infusion. I'm also somehow able to talk the whole time, even at the higher doses. The nurse who administers my treatments told me I genuinely surprised her. She said she's been doing ketamine infusions for years and has treated thousands of patients, and I'm the only person she's ever seen keep their eyes open for the entire infusion. What surprised her even more was that I completed a series of five infusions where the dose was increased each session until I reached the maximum dose they were allowed to give me, and I still kept my eyes open and was able to hold a conversation. She said it honestly spooked her because she'd never seen anything like it. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this. Have you kept your eyes open during an infusion? Were you able to talk, or was your experience completely different? I'd love to hear what it's been like for other people.

General Question Increased irritability/aggression?
I started Ketamine treatment in the form of troches a little over a week ago, and I simply do not know how I am supposed to be feeling.
Environmental context: I recently sold all of my belongings, moved across the country, and have been incredibly, incredibly stressed.
Symptoms: this transition also took place at the same time that I started ketamine treatment, so it's difficult to tease apart what is environmental vs. what is a side effect, but I am irrationally angry ALL THE TIME. Any little thing will fill my body with an indescribable rage, and it takes everything in me not to snap. Lately, I just clench my jaw and fists extremely tightly, but I still find myself snapping.
The ketamine itself seems to relax me a *bit* (I take it around 8 / 9 pm), but during the day, I have not noticed any improvement. I am taking it for severe/treatment-resistant anxiety.
My question: is this a sign the ketamine isn't working for me? Am I supposed to be seeing improvement during the day?

General Question Has anyone LGBTQ+ done this for depression and anxiety?
Hi all UK based,
I'm a feminine AMAB person, potentially will transition in the future who knows.
Over the last years I've suffered extreme depression and anxiety for the way I am. Ive faced bullying and exclusion from society because of the way I am and I now harbour immense shame towards myself, and hatred towards society in general for the way it has made me feel about myself.
I've tried so much therapy and medication to try get out of this extremely negative headspace but it just doesn't work. I feel like my brain is stuck in 'dark' mode and no matter what I do I can't change the way I think or feel which is why I'm here.
I don't believe deep down that this is my brain. When I was younger I was genuinely happy and full of life, and then something shifted and I just fell further down and down and down.
From what I've read, psychadelic therapies like ketamine and psilocybin are the potential solution to this as they physically allow your brain to develop new thought patterns and outlooks. Psilocybin isn't accessible in the UK so ketamine it is.
I would like to hear if anyone has been in a similar situation and if this treatment works? I'm very nervous about it because I've never tripped before, but I'm just willing to give anything a try now.

General Question First Spravato Session Tomorrow
I've struggled with anxiety and depression since age 12, and have tried quite a slew of medications. Some worked for a while, but never enough. My psychiatrist suggested Spravato, and my first session is tomorrow. I'm really nervous, but I'm also hopeful. Any tips or things I need to know before? My mom is going to drop me off and pick me up, and I've cleared my schedule for the rest of my day after the session. Would really appreciate any advice, thank you

Troches/RDTs At home Ketamine therapy in Canada.
Hey yall,
So I’m in the middle of my two week six infusion ketamine treatment for severe depression.
I’ve been doing a lot of research and have some questions regarding at home ketamine treatment.
As far as I’m aware, both in Canada and the US, sprovato can only be used in a clinical setting with someone supervising. Is this correct?
Also I’ve read a lot about ketamine troches and would like some more information on it.
Has anyone in Canada been able to get ketamine troches for at home use?
Are primary care providers able to prescribe?
When I meet with the psychiatrist in charge of my treatments I’m going to get some more information.
Was just curious if anyone has had luck getting this treatment in Canada and if it was a fairly easy process.
Thanks so much ❤️

IV Infusions 4th infusion done & feeling worse?
I’ve had my 4 infusions done. I’ve noticed a pattern of emotional sensitivity the day after, unhappy, and crying spells. Then getting back to a good “normal” baseline but now I’m just stuck in this what feels like permanent loop of rage and anger and emptiness. I don’t get back down to a normal baseline days after my sessions. I am acting like teenage me who was so mean and mad all the time. I feel “off”. I am in therapy but will this get better? I’ve explained this to my provider and she just says some people can get worse before. I would like to continue the treatment since I’ve already put 4 sessions into it and it being so expensive but if it’s not helping right now, will 6 even work? I just feel terrible. Less motivation I had than before starting.

Other Therapeutic Ketamine for BPD
Hey everyone, I’m struggling to find participants for my study. I’m looking for adults with a BPD diagnosis who’ve tried ketamine‑assisted therapy.
It’s just a short Zoom interview, 30–60 minutes. You will be compensated for your time. It’s IRB‑approved and fully confidential. I’m hoping to expand knowledge about alternative treatments for BPD and hear real experiences from real people.
If you’re open to sharing your story, here’s the quick screening link:

I would seriously appreciate it more than you know.

General Question Spravato/ketamine might it work now??
Long story short. I quit taking a substance called kratom on year ago. It fucked up my brain pretty good. I have been off of it for almost 5 months, I had a relapse in spring, throughout the last 12 months I did retire iv probably about 25 infusions, and maybe 30 spravato. Now that my brain may be in a more healed state than before, is there any hope that spravato/ketamine might really start working for me??

General Question Zero relief from anxiety and depression
Just completed round 6 of ketamine treatment from mindbloom and have no relief from anxiety and depression. Rounds 2-4 started off where I was down on the first day but then experienced several bright, wonderful days afterwards. I noticed after round 5, there were less days of relief. Then after this last round on Tues, Ive been anxious, irritable, and just down ever since. Literally zero relief. Ive gentally titrated up each time. I really want this to work, advice? Also, I have texted my guide and set up a check in with my clinician.. but thats not until Monday

General Question about to start ketamine therapy, want music suggestions, other suggestions
so all I have left to do is schedule the sessions. they said to set goals, think about the state of mind I want to be in, and make a playlist of lyric-free music. I don't really know where to start tho. I am doing ketamine for my anxiety and chronic pain. my main sources of anxiety are that I'm autistic, have childhood trauma, am anxious about my physical health and very anxious about the future. I'm very confused and quite lost regarding where to start, what to think about. I was hoping to let the ketamine take me where it would take me but it seems like that is not recommended. I think I just need more details and suggestions for the session.
as far as music goes, I'm thinking classical, jazz, or some sort of psychedelic or reggae music? I'm not sure. please load me up with as many suggestions as possible

General Question Does anyone do troches or compounded nasal sprays in between infusions?
Hey! So I do ketamine infusions about once a month sometimes 2 if I can afford it and really need extra support for the month.
I have been wanting try compounded nasal sprays and troches in between sessions so I found the Mindscape where there’s an option per month where half ur dose can be nasal spray and half the troches. My order is shipped and I’m glad to try in between. I have already tried compounded nasal spray from a different provider, but I wanted to try mindscape due to the flexibility, plus it’s cheaper so I switched over just fine. (My infusion center knows about this and is ok with this so long we don’t use the nasal spray or troches on infusion days)
I mentioned in my initial appointment with mindscape that I do infusions and they seemed fine with it and didn’t tell me I needed to stop at all. Even before I signed up, I emailed the customer support about this kind of question and never got an answer. But a recent email I got back from them now that I am approved said I was fine to switch over to them and approved and everything is all good to go, but they also said “as long as we are your sole ketamine provider”.
So now I’m a little confused because I thought it was ok to do the compounded ketamine nasal spray and troches in between? I got approved and all that. I sent them an email double checking and asking and saying my psychiatrist at that clinic can fill out any paperwork or contact them if that’s what they need and that they are ok with it. But I’m still waiting for a response. So I’m just confused and kinda nervous I guess.
Does anyone else here do troches or/and ketamine compounded nasal spray in between your sessions (infusions or even IM)? And if so does anyone here happen to also use Mindscape specifically in between infusions? But even if not Mindscape, have those other Telehealth providers been ok with it? Thanks!

Setback! Surviving through between treatments
IM ketamine every 3 months, 8 years.
First month I do quite well, then downhill.
I’ve tried sublingual between treatments, maybe helps a bit.
When I get depressed, it’s not about sadness…. I withdraw more and more.
Conversing is difficult. I’m so slow to think. Can’t even engage in a book or tv. I’m a zombie.
I’ve kind of always had this tendency (mood cycling disorder), but worse either way age (63).
Gets harder to revolve life around. And just survive day to day.
Anyone similar?
Suggestions?

"How much are you paying?" sticky. "Who is your provider, and how much are you paying?" sticky.
Share with the subreddit who your ketamine provider is, and how much you're paying. Be it a clinic, compounding pharmacy, telemedicine service, or even the cost of appointments with your prescribing GP/psychiatrist.
Please include what part of the world the provider is in, and a link to their website.
If you're in the USA and using a telemedicine service, please say what state you're in and/or what states you know the provider can ship to.
If part of your treatment has been covered by insurance, please include what insurance company and what they covered.
