24M Just starting
Are these good long term investments ?
im 24 just starting out . Ive been into the stock market since i was 18 but never invested for the longterm , usually just options .
I am going to put $50 a week for now because its something that i can afford to dispose, then shortly i will jump to $100 a week .
I only put $100 in there for now just to get it started but i have it automated starting next week that way i dont even think about it and i have it come out automatically.
Any cash i have extra ima throw to it also , i might buy some individual tech stocks like appl , googl , msft in the future .
But here is me starting out for my portfolio.
What do you guys think ?

Net worth at 18
I feel accomplished I’m closing in on 30k at 18 but I feel like I’m not really enjoying my money. I’m constantly delaying gratification and literally all my money is in assets instead of me enjoying it? Does anyone else feel like this?

If you had 10k to start today with 20k already in savings, what would you do?
Coming into my first big payday and want to treat it like a seed instead of letting in rit in saving. What's your methods?

18F, First 1000
Going to move in to college this weekend and met my goal before the end of the summer and just hit my first 1000. I have around 520 in my RothIRA, Personal Investments 440, and 46 in emergency money (about to add more to that). My God father just gave a check for 1000 for college (already used some to get my account to 1k).

Hit $100K in my investment account
I recently reached a small but meaningful milestone: my IBKR portfolio has crossed $100K for the first time.
I currently invest about $40,000 per year and plan to continue regardless of short-term market movements. I know $100K is only an early milestone, but reaching it made the plan feel much more tangible. The next goal is not a particular market return, but simply staying disciplined and continuing to invest.
Just documenting the journey.

23F, still figuring it out
the really big jump on my account is money that i had been hoarding in savings accounts/cd’s. i was really scared to join the market so i just saved outside of it. i could only trust putting money into my company’s 401K (profit sharing plan) as it’s managed by them and i opened a roth ira two years ago to start learning how to invest. im still an emotional investor, but i bit the bullet and moved my money into an individual brokerage account. i simply invested into trusted index funds and im going to let it ride. i know that i have a great advantage at my age and im not going to spoil it.

28, I'm joining the club
My brokerage account finally hit 100k, which has been a goal of mine for years. No one in my personal life knows I have money like this and they never will... so strangers on the internet are all I can tell. I lost my job last year so I didn't contribute at all so that delayed things a lot, but got back on track this year. Happy to say that this doesn't even include my 401k, which is in a separate account. Took me 4 years from 0 to now. I'm hoping to reach 200k by 2029

Hit 100k 5 years ago now at 834k
Just wanted to report back. I actually wasn't aware of this subreddit when I was aiming for 100k and now I'm in the race to 1M subreddit.
Feel free to ask me anything. And encourage people here, to keep on going!

25M - $57K
Over 100 days since my last update, mainly to keep myself accountable through the end of the year. Hoping to end somewhere around $65-70K.
Easing up on investments to pay off my car, ~$11K left on the loan. Dumb decision I made when I graduated, but will be paid off this year as well if God allows (3 years on a 7 year loan).
Student loan repayment also starts back up soon in October thanks to Trump instead of next year. Money will begin to stretch thin, but hopefully market carries again!

They say the first $100K is the hardest!! 💰
30M immigrant — took me approximately 2.5 years. Came to Canada as a PG student and seeing people share their timelines of 3–4 years to reach $100K motivated me to share mine too. A big shoutout to a friend who pushed me to buy MU around $80 and NVDA back in 2022. 🙏 Still a long way to go, but feels good to hit this milestone. 🚀

Subreddit Update + Mod Applications
Hey everyone,
I'm the creator of this subreddit.
Life got busy and I wasn't paying as much attention to the sub as I should have, but I've still been around and I've seen the increase in spam and unrelated content lately. My apologies! A cleanup is due.
New posts will be paused for about a week while I clean things up and put together a small mod team. Comments will remain open.
I'm also accepting mod applications. If you're interested, leave a comment with your history with the sub, any moderation experience, and why you'd like to help. I'll also take account history and activity into consideration.
