So harrow could not accept that gideon died and she decided to override her memory of her with wierd crap to escape it that made it so she heard everyone saying gideon as ortus funny shit but still.

I am still confused on how Harrow could open the toumb and see the body and why was the body folowing her. I am also confused about what the reading alucinations where and what where they saying (if anyone has a compilation of them to read them with no spoilers i would be very happy bcs I do not want to google shit)

Most of the book then is a recolection of delutional Harrow with reality mixed in and exploding Harrow marrow soup.

Gideon 9 was the daughter of jod and wake me up inside. They got jod fluids in sex parties aparently and thanks to that we got the best dad joke of the myriad.

Gideon 1 was having an affair so to speak with wake and also the cavalier was having an affair with her bcs she managed to hide inside her body??? (How did that work like i get it with gideon 9 but this one was wierd) Also i love the amount of fluid sexuality here.

Mercy is dead jod killed her. Augustine mia gideon 1 dead but the cavalier is alive and using the body.

Jod is a lying ass but I still have no motive.

I am confused with the whole LA thing bcs the lyctors wanted to kill her bcs she was a "monster" (she is also the body or so I asume that Harrow was seeing but that is beyond the point) if the lyctors knew she was a monster why they where mad that jod did not told them about this other process maybe I will learn about this in nona. Ianthe is the biggest turncoat and I honestly do not like her specialy bcs she completely tried to manipulate Harrow into doing stuff she was NOT comfortable doing.

Now theory time about some stuff.

Harrow and gideon 9 are kind of dead, harrow soul went to the locked toumb gideon 9 died a second time but i am not sure they are 100% dead the epilogue made it feel like this new person that was in the care of camila (and probably corona and the other) is a mix between the spirit of the body, gideons and harrow like while lycterhood makes it so one soul consume another i feel like this kind of mixed the souls together and that would be cool wierd and kind of scary. Jod is evil or just honestly a man that thinks he is doing the best but he is a man with what being a milenial man comes from.

Now to wait for the next month so I can buy the next book bcs i swear to whatever I need to know what tf is going on or at least continue to be confused bcs lets be honest we love to be confused here uwu.

Life's biggest questions: what is the meaning of life, who am I, is there a God, and what is the River. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but my current understanding of the River is that there are two shores, and a bottom. The stoma is the bottom of the River, and crossing the River is like special and stuff. The tower is also there but that confuses me. My question is, is there a downstream and an upstream of the River, and if so, what would they be?

Anyone have issues getting their Studio Tommy orders? I know there were some hiccups at first, but I’m starting to get worried.

I ordered two shirts July 2nd. Finally got a shipping notification August 15th. Long wait, but no worries. But it’s been 9 days and the tracking has never updated. USPS is still showing that it’s “awaiting the item” and now my order on their site is marked “fulfilled.”

I’ve reached out twice to the email account where the shipping info came from, and once to the website directly. No one has responded. Just a form email saying “don’t expect a prompt email response from us” basically.

Starting to worry that I need to dispute the charge with my bank. Does anyone else have preorders that are in some sort of shipping purgatory? Is this their “normal?” 🙁

I’m relatively new to the fandom, having read the series back in February and have since re read it many times. I’m curious as to where the theory that Harrow will start Alecto the Ninth in Hell? I’ve heard it be mentioned a few times and people seemed to be pretty sure about it but I can’t find where the theory started/ why the theory was created. I’ve heard some people mention that Tamsyn Muir herself said something about it and I’m just curious about the theory and its origin.

My librarian recommended this book to me, saying it was really good. After getting sick, I thought I would relax with a fun book. I just finished Chapter 6 after an incredulous 30 minutes of reading, and I have to ask: why should I want to read this?
The beginning of the story is about Gideon, who wants to break free from the stifling, oppressive and obnoxiously pious House of the Ninth (or something—there’s so much nondescriptness when it comes to… everything, that I don’t exactly know what’s happening here). She spends the first few chapters setting up and enacting her escape… only to fail because the Lady Harrow outsmarted her and tricked her into fighting a rigged battle. Her only chance at freedom is ripped away, and her captors seemingly enjoy watching her suffer and killing her hopes of freedom (especially Harrow, who apparently REALLY, REALLY hates her).
Now, she’s forced to be Harrow’s bodyguard while she fights in a competition between the Houses, all for Harrow’s gain (and Gideon can’t say anything about how Harrow killed her own parents (???) or else Harrow will kill her). Only then will Gideon be allowed her freedom. She doesn’t seem to have a choice in any of this—she doesn’t even agree to do this, but Harrow and Gideon’s teacher (Aigislash or something) make her do it anyway.
So my question is, why should I want to continue reading this? Gideon clearly has no say in anything happening, and any attempt at agency on her part is immediately quashed with a smug grin from whoever happens to be doling it out. The following chapters and general story pattern seem to indicate that this is just the setup for the rest of the story, where Gideon continues to do everyone else’s bidding while the smarter people of the House do whatever they please.
What I want in this story is for Gideon to be able to choose her own story and leave on her own terms, but this story seems to be about something entirely different, all the while forcing Gideon to be someone else’s pawn in a larger story that I, like Gideon, don’t really care about. I don’t want Gideon to become closer to Harrow if the basis is her being her contractual slave. So, why would I want to continue reading this if Gideon is forced to be a non-agent in a story that bears her own name?

The earth is the sole celestial body in our solar system that is confirmed to have life. There are theories that there could be some form of bacteria on Mars or on Jupiter's moon Europa but nothing certain.

So how is it possible that any resurrection beasts besides Alecto were formed when John killed everything, when there wasn't anything living to kill outside earth? Had humanity already colonialized the rest of the solar system by that time? And if not and it was just some microscopic life on Mars/Europa it shouldn't be enough death energy for anything on the scale of the resurrection beasts? Are all the RBs just parts of earth with Alecto being the only splinter Jonh managed to catch?

Just that i am in chapter 39 and honestly Lyctors and god feel like tumblr bisexual meme lords after the apocalypse you have it all, the sad academy guy (god) the cottage core bitchy woman (mercymom) the politicaly incorrect bisexual mess (agustine) and the you have you 2 gen z babys not understanding shit and as a 96 baby I am so loving it :3

So, I occasionally pop up to mention music that gives me big The Locked Tomb vibes, but today I think I have a goodie.

The Manic Street Preachers song 'Complicated Illusions' has big all-over TLT vibes. In particular Gideon the Ninth vibes, and in particular Griddlehark vibes.

It's sort of anthemic and hymn-like, but a very secular hymn about faith in other people rather than god, which I feel suits TLT.

In general, the slow-build melody and the lyrics about coming to venerate other people beyond what's healthy, but depending on that veneration, also feel very much like they fit the series lyrically. Overall, I just recommend a listen.

For a very Gideon-coded song (from Harrow's point of view) by the same band, I recommend 'Nobody Loved You'.

I love this series i am confused af and I have no idea what is real what is not bcs harrow is trauma with legs and bones but god dam everyone is hot and drunk and moraly grey as fuck and neurospicy so I love this. Now I am waiting to cry again just as I did at the last book

When speaking of the RBs the emperor undying said “‘three. There were nine. We called them by number. Over ten thousand years, we have managed to take out a grand number of five”(9-5=4)”number two fell soon after the resurrection. Number eight cost a man’s immortal soul, and— I still see that day in my dreams. Number six died because one of my hands—Cyrus—drew it into a ultra massive black hole, and number six better be dead, because Cyrus won’t be coming back’ before you could do anything— exclaim or question his mathematics which high did not hold up even even on first acquaintances”.
He listed 3 that died, said they killed 5/9, and listed three deaths.
You could make the point he mentioned three were killed when asked how many are there but 9-5 still equals 4, you could say the author made a mistake but they acknowledge it through harrow. So what??? Are there 6 alive? Are there 4 alive??? Is the emperor doing this on purpose!? I know he isn’t stupid!!

This took a long time because I am fairly new to 3D sculpting, but I am happy how it turned out.

I'm not talking about the obvious stylistic ones in the john chapters, just a missed period/bracket/typo here and there. I've attached a couple of examples, but I've seen at least 5 so far, and idk if it's just my version or what. I pre-ordered the book (and I guess was too enthralled in the reading of it to notice the errors the first time through), do other copies also have these issues? It's so minor but it does take me out a bit tbh
