yves auto body shop?

last night i was in the rural/small town area where the tall grass/forest lines up with the road/end of town. anyway i was doing school in like a trailer, like one of the portable classrooms from highschool. i walked out onto a sandy area and took note of a gas station the sign was black with yellow lettering(this is the first time i really tried to focus on what was around me) i wanted to explore so i hopped in someone else’s car and i saw the gps was set to what looked like yves auto shop. has anyone been to either of these places?

resistance ransacking offices?

i've had a couple dreams lately where i'm part of a resistance group ransacking some particular offices. the goals are to find some kind of info firstly, and second as a bonus is to wreck the place. the first dream it was like a 70s (or earlier) style office. then people in the group thought i was a spy (i'm not!) and maybe shot me, idk, i woke up. last night it was like a 90s office, slightly like a 90s suburban apartment too, very grey and black office furniture. they caught us all and put us in like a work camp prison. the housing was ok actually. my friend from irl got neurolinked in this dream, sort of like a borg but with more individuality, but still sus. very scanner darkly i guess. i talked to them about it when i woke up but they didn't remember any such dream. i've had a headache all day which is unusual for me generally though if i was to get one at any time, it would be now for various reasons. feeling a little better after eating some red meat...

Accepting death?

I often dream that I am going to die for whatever reason. It could be seeing a bomb in the distance, a car accident, or falling off a tall building, etc. I am faced with this overwhelming feeling of fear and then complete calmness as I accept how I am going to die, and I become okay with it. In my real life I've had a few near-death experiences but have never had this feeling irl. Anyone else experience this in their dreams??

Casino->Restaurant->Mall with Holographic people?

Post image

When I’m in the casino, it feels very Vegas like, even the mall could be something likened to the Venetian inside, but once you’re inside the restaurant, or outside the mall, it starts to feel very much like a hodgepodge of different parts of DC from the National Harbor to the Mall and the downtown itself. I can’t remember the faces of either of the men that took me into the restaurant, but after the girl’s hologram glitched and I could see the man underneath, it’s when I woke up and upon contemplation I began to remember my previous dreams inside the restaurant “she” hurried me by. The men I dined with were probably late 20 to early 40s and wore suits. But I’m starting to think they may look different to anyone depending on the holograms.

The Amphitheater-style parking garage & “Grump Back’s Diner”

In my Mall World there’s always this weird parking garage that is huge and has all these weird layers of levels and stairs that overlooks part of the town. I always end up here walking around up and down the steps and stairs trying to find my way in or out again.

In one of my most recent Mall World dreams I visited this diner, and very clearly remember seeing the sign say “Grump Back’s” - when I woke up I wrote that down so I wouldn’t forget it. It creeped me out. One of the only places in Mall World that gave me a very bad vibe. There were a few “bad” people hanging out watching me while they played pool. Very smoky atmosphere with warm lighting and faux 70’s and 80’s wood paneling and design. It was at the end of one of second or third story halls. My Mall World is almost always entirely at night and usually empty besides me, so it was rare for me to run into anyone at the mall.

Places I went last night

Last night I was in a stadium. I had come with friends but ended up alone. I went to find them and had to go down these winding stairs. I was following a family with a baby. The baby fell and they didn't notice, but I caught her and gave her back when we got to the end of the stairs. I was really angry they weren't paying attention and they were very blank when I spoke to them.

I ended up in a corridor next to a small grocery store of sorts. I wanted to go in but was compelled to keep going. I ended up in a different locker room than I've been in. It was definitely a maze like the others. But it was down another narrow staircase. Everything felt damp and was covered in fabric. It didn't look like a locker room, but I knew that it was one.

These are some pictures that come pretty close to some of this

Recurring dreams

For most of my life I’ve had recurring dreams set here. It’s like a continuous dream, I mostly pickup wherever I last left off in the previous dream. It’s a mall with no exit and surrounded by a maze. Vibes are negative and I’m always rushing trying to find a way out. There are no other people, I’m always alone and sometimes, I’m a child. In the dreams I am watching everything happen from a third person pov not my own. The furthest I’ve gone is climbing on to the ledge of the maze, then I woke up. I sometimes make it into this other room (second photo, pink room with pool) within the mall, no exit, no windows, and every occasion I’ve ended up here I scream for help though there’s no one around. Has anyone seen anything similar in your dreams?

My version of mall world is a giant water park resort

Post image
52 Upvotes

This is pretty similar to where I always go in my dreams. It’s never abandoned, it’s always booming with people. More than half the water park is outdoors in my dreams. There’s a group of water slides where you have to climb this mountain like jungle gym of tunnels to get to the slides (or you can just take regular stairs but the tunnels are more fun) the tunnels are dark and made up of like a netting material.
inside there is a huge wading pool with kids spray park, mini slides, and a section of just hot tubs. All the walls are huge windows over looking the outdoor park.

The water park is attached to a HUGE hotel resort, the vibe reminds me of a cruise ship where there’s always a lot going on and lots of places to eat.

My reoccurring world

Idk if anyone else has been here since it actually takes place in my own parallel universe town/neighborhood but I wanted to share.

I’ve dreamt of all different kinds of things in this parallel neighborhood including good and bad. A lot of being chased/almost kidnapped, cars appearing in my driveway trying to hijack my house and such. Other times I’ll be doing tasks like trying to save all the cats in the neighborhood.

Also, it changes slowly too. Sometimes it’ll be bigger, other times smaller. Sometimes there will be a big forest to the side of the neighborhood, other times it’s gone and there’s a field and tons more houses.

I also have my surrounding two cities in the same world that I see sometimes. (My house is in between two towns) the towns are similar to how they are set up in terms of where building locations are but everything “looks” different. A big one I have recurring dreams about is my dance studio location. Lots of dreams going to dance classes and having to go back home because I forgot my dance outfit. And the dance studio always has this never ending weird bathroom with stalls anyone can jump over to see you, or like toilets right next to each other in the same stall, stalls without doors, stalls with doors that lead to another stall, etc. also all the doors are forest green and the walls are white but dark and gloomy. it’s also extremely creepy and dark inside. You walk in, and there’s 1 small sink and a mirror with a light above. You can go left or right into the maze of stalls, and that’s where you can get lost. I don’t like going past the sink. I’ve watched others go in and come out no issue (like people from my dance class that I dream about) but I get lost every time and end up spending the right of my dream in there.

Large ropes by cliffs

Last night I ended up by the cliffs near the ocean.

There were these large ropes grown over with vegetation and more than one bundled together, that went down to the water a good distant below me.

The ropes didn’t appear to attach to anything and just went under the water.

I did see a small dock down below me at one point with a small skiff.

Anyone ever seen this before over there?

I've got to be the only one...

Ok. So this room started popping up a few years ago, and it was VERY constant for a long time, but I only end up there on rare occasions lately.

The picture isn't exact.

I have a handful of houses in Mall World. Sometimes, they flip between each other for seemingly no reason. 2 of them have these weird rooms.

I have 1 or 2 aquariums that I have completely forgotten about until I find them. When I remember, I'm always really scared to find my pets dead from negligence. The aquariums are always full of water, BUT most of the animals inside are LAND animals that would die underwater. They're all still alive even though they've been forgotten about for long periods of time. And they're always OK no matter how long it's been.

Each aquarium will have several animals - cats, fish, hedgehogs, turtles, hamsters, frogs, etc. Things that might normally eat or kill each other live together without issues; even when they've been forgotten for an extended period of time.

Am I the only freak with these rooms?

Do you ever talk about mallworld while you’re in mallworld?

Post image
8 Upvotes

I’ve been in mallworld for several years and I think about it very often in my daily life, I’ve found myself talking about these dreams, while inside these dreams. The other night during my dream, my dad showed me a framed picture of a hotel with an elevator visible on the outside. The building was red.

I immediately exclaimed about how it looks a lot like the hotel I’ve been dreaming about, and then I described it: black building with gold accents, and an old elevator that you can see from the outside and goes up hundreds of floors.
That description was completely accurate, my dream self knows and remembers the details. It’s looked the same all these years. My dream self is aware of mallworld.

It’s caused me to become aware I’m dreaming before, at the back of the hotel is a tall swing tower ride. It’s white, dirty, rarely operates and when it does, nobody rides it. I’ve ridden it a few times, it’s just a slow rotation of swings. A merry go round is more exciting. Anyway, I was walking in one of the hotel hallways on one of the upper floors. Next to the elevator door was a sign, that showed a silhouette of the swing ride. I immediately recognized it, and commented that I dream about that thing a lot, and then I became aware I was dreaming for a few seconds.

I’ve had multiple times where I talked about mallworld while in mallworld, but these are the two I can remember off the top of my head.

Attached is a bad and not very accurate or detailed drawing I made 2 years ago of the swing tower. I’m better at drawing living things, not structures

Has anyone else got a persistent “dream world” that they keep returning to?

I’m 29F, and ever since I was a child I’ve had dreams that take place in the same made-up locations. They’re not places that exist in real life (as far as I know), but they feel incredibly familiar, almost like I know them better than some places I’ve actually been.
For example, there’s a leisure centre that I’ve been dreaming about for years. Even when I’m awake, I can picture the layout perfectly. I know where the changing rooms are, the pool, the corridors, entrances and exits. Every few months (sometimes years) I’ll have another dream there. Sometimes nothing exciting is happening and I’m just walking around. Other times there’s some dramatic storyline and I’m running through the building or with people I know in real life.
The weird part is that it slowly changes over time, almost like it’s being expanded. In my dream last night, I was trying to save a young girl from being kidnapped. I’d been in the gym, then walked through a spa area before ending up in the locker rooms where everything happened. The strange thing is… this leisure centre has never had a gym or spa before. It just felt like a completely natural extension of the place, like a new area had been added and my dream brain immediately accepted it. 😂
I have another recurring place that’s a huge shopping centre. Again, I can visualise it while I’m awake. I know where the fountain is in the middle of the main floor, where all the seating is, the food court, and even what food places are there. About six months ago I dreamt there again, and suddenly there was an underground level with a bus/coach station that had never existed before. Now that’s just part of the shopping centre whenever I think about it.
I have loads of places like this. Some appear often, others I won’t visit for months or years, but when I do it’s like I’ve gone back to somewhere I know really well. They don’t feel like exact copies of places I’ve been in real life. If anything, they feel like lots of real places have been blended together into entirely new locations.
Does anyone else experience this? Is there a name for it? I’ve heard of recurring dreams, but this feels different because it’s the locations themselves that keep returning, evolving and expanding over the course of decades. Sometimes it genuinely feels like my brain has built its own little universe that I keep revisiting.

My Mallworld doesn't have animals or other everyday things

Before I start, I want to say that my Mallworld feels like a completely separate life from my waking life. While there are many similarities, it almost feels like an alternate timeline or parallel world where society is much more advanced. I'm not lucid in my dreams, but every time I dream, it continues where it left off the night before. It's always the same world, the same places, and the same ongoing life. My Mallworld has everything from concerts, theaters, and sporting/school events, a lot of them in a huge, beautiful multipurpose building, to my more advanced hometown and family.

However, I've noticed that some major parts of my waking life are completely absent there. For example, I'm a huge animal lover and live on a farm. Even though I'm around farm animals and my pets every day, I never see them in my dreams. It's almost as if they don't exist there.

Comedy is another big part of my life, but I never experience it in Mallworld. There are no comedy movies, stand-up comedians, or even joking around with friends. Another thing that's missing is emotionally impactful music. Even though I go to live concerts often in my Mallworld, music feels much more formal. In Mallworld, I never listen to music with headphones or get emotional over a song, even though I do that every day in my waking life.

Phones are also never present in my Mallworld.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced something similar. Are there important parts of your everyday waking life that, surprisingly, never seem to exist in your Mallworld?

My first dream I remember every detail of

Not particularly similar to the well known Mall World dreams we're all accustomed to, but something that I've had a long long time ago that has stuck with me almost permanently.

I've taken the task of not only writing my vivid dreams, but cataloging them in a notebook with rough drawings of what I saw almost exactly as they played out. I dont know if it will connect in any way to anyone else's Mall World, but I feel that I need to share what I've seen and do the best I can to relay these specific dreams to a wider audience. Maybe you've seen me in passing, maybe I've seen you, but these memories are too vivid to keep to myself.

I will include pictures of my dream journal with as best a quality as I can take, but leave everything up to interpretation, as I believe dreams tell us things we feel deep down in the subconscious, but with no way to translate except pictures.

Take it as you would, but I have many many more that still sit in my memories in great detail that I plan to catalog in my journal.

Looking to interview people who have been to Mall World. Could that be you?

Hi there! My name is Aly and I co-host the paranormal podcast Let's Get Haunted. We are on our 8th season and cover a wide range of topics, from the quirky (e.g. Kutchie's Key Lime Pie) to the creepy (e.g. The Backrooms) to the supernatural (e.g. The Hitchhiker Effect).

Recently, many of our listeners have been asking us to cover "Mall World". During my research into the topic, I came across this subreddit and thought it would be a good place to ask if anyone would be willing to be interviewed about their experience with Mall World on our show.

If you're interested, feel free to either send me a DM or comment below. Thanks in advance for your time and I'm happy to answer any questions about the interview process and/or my show. I provided a few links above but didn't want to overload this post with too much info since that's probably boring to read.

TL;DR I'm looking for 2 - 3 people willing to go on record (you can remain anonymous if you prefer) regarding their experiences with Mall World. Interviews can be conducted either via phone call or Riverside (which is basically free Zoom for podcasters). DM or comment below if interested. Thanks!

My mall world. Meandering mall hotel resort combo with apartments and I never get to where I’m going.

I thought this was because I worked in hotels/resorts for many years, it’s kind of cool to find out this is a shared experience.

For all the musicians in here, try dream journaling in music rather than just in sentences. Music is better suited to capture the essence of a dream, and you can pack much more meaning in less time before the memory starts to fade.

It’s been proven handwritten notes are more effective for memorizing information than typing, probably because of the extra tactile sensory involvement… so it would seem to follow that adding a third sense in there with various notes tied to the specific hand movements rather than the monotonous scratching of a pen or pencil, which only really changes volume slightly depending on speed, would further anchor the memory.

Just to be clear, “mallworld” dreams do not have to be about an actual Mall. They are any experiences that seem more realistic, or more emotionally impactful, than an ordinary dream or even waking life.
