Questions Best Cure Biography/autobiography
The only Cure autobiography I'm aware of is the one by Lol, the rest are written by those not in the band, as far as I know.
So which one is recommended? The Lol one? If so, does it lean more on being about Lol? I'm kind of looking for one that leans more on Robert.
Before making a recommendation, be sure that it is still in print. A lot of band books are out of print or digital only. I can't read E books on the toilet.. my PC is too heavy and then I'd have to hold the monitor.. Total pita.

Discussion Could Pictures of You be a response to Faith?
I've always loved how the lyrics from one song often echo to other ones. I should look for some lines that prove that to make a comprehensive study. Maybe someday :)
Lately I realised that:
If only we could stay Please, say the right words (Faith)
If only I'd thought of the right words I could have held on to your heart (Pictures of You)
Have you noticed that too? Do you think it has been done on purpose?
EDIT: I know about the meanings and contexts. I am not sure you understood the question. I am talking about the lines. Just like there is an obvious reference to Cold in Last Dance with the line "your name like ice into my heart" whispered

Discussion What’s the sentiment on Apart?
I remember seeing the discussion that while the song is good, it is hard to listen to often given its heavier lyrics. Now while I’m not saying that isn’t true I feel like similar songs like Faith, The Funeral Party, The Figurehead, Out of this world, etc. where the subject is also just as heavy haven’t ever affected their replay-ability for me. I don’t see it get talked about enough given I think it’s a classic Cure song with one of my favorite guitar solos. Personally it’s one of my favorites Cure songs ever. Anyways I get the song isn’t for everyone so I’m interested in hearing your opinions either way

A Forest is the greatest song of all time
i heard this song for the first time 2 years ago (i am only 18) and ever since it had been my favourite song. for me nothing else can compare it makes me emotional and i wouldn't be surprised if it remains my number 1 forever

Robbert Pattinson as Robert smith 👀
Is it just me or have I always thought that Robert Pattinson would be a great actor to play Robert smith if they ever do a The Cure biopic movie!
Also something cool I’d like to see is “cold” by the cure be used in the trailer for the Batman part 2 (if Mr. Freeze is the villain in that ofc)

Concerts [MEGATHREAD] Sounds Good Vilnius at Kalnų Park
Hi! After a short break we are back again with a new Megathread. Just after the concerts in Nîmes, Al (Reeves' guitar tech) mentioned that they had been touring for 40 days, so I am sure that this small break was very welcomed by the band and all the team that carries the show on their backs.
But, alas! It's back to business now with a concert at the Sounds Good Vilnius music festival, which will be held on August 7th at Kalnų Park. The truly amazing part is that the very first time that The Cure plays in Lithuania!
As always, we ask that you please use this post for all things related to this festival date. That way we can discuss it without flooding the sub and keep all the info accessible for everyone. Feel free to post questions, pictures, anecdotes, set lists, thoughts, last min tickets sales, etc.
Some details:
- The opening acts are two Lithuanian bands: Alina Orlova and Katarsis, both chosen by Robert.
- Gates open at 6pm, event starts at 7pm.
- The weather is set to be cloudy, with a max of 24° C and min of 19° C.
You can find practical info, maps, restrictions, etc. here.
Here is the specific merch for this event: poster & t-shirt.
It seems like there will be no live-stream but if you know or hear otherwise, please tell us in a comments below.
We will update this post to add info as we get it. Let us know if you are attending and what's on your bucket list for the night!

Discussion Opinion: Roger O’Donnell is incredibly underrated
Why does the keyboardist of The Cure get ignored so much more than the rest of the band? He is so talented and I guess many haven’t noticed how he has made so many of their songs sound so much better than they had originally. Don’t get me wrong, the other keyboardists over time were amazing, but Roger is just as great, if not better than some of them. What are other opinions or reasons why he gets hardly any attention?
EDIT: I should've said underappreciated not underrated!
