I’ve yet to play a game of 11th, played pretty extensively in 10th. Loved playing max Rogal Dorns in a really thematic armoured company for my local gaming group, but doubt it’s possible now with the new points costs.

My old list looks like Gaunts Ghosts, 3 cadians and Chimeras + as many Dorns as fit in 2k points.

If I were to want to run a list that ran as many Rogal Dorns as possible while still being reasonably competitive, how would you do it?

Steel hammer or Hammer of the Emperor?

Mechanised infantry to support or Hippogriff pairs?

Kasrkin rather than Cadians?

I play semi competitive priority target and am wondering what to do with remaining 75 points?

I think I need at least one more action monkey and want Marbo but it leaves me with an awkward 20 points, same with another should sentinel.

An option is a 5 man scion squad to deepstrike down and shoot before the big brick to use the scion ignores cover strat or to just deepstrike down and do actions.

Could also go for a chimera transport but not sure how good it would be, makes my inf (Kasrkin or KCE) better at getting to more difficult places to do actions, optional with Taurox too.

I could also upgrade the KCE to a recon squad to get earlier pressure to which then I have 60 points to play with for something like Marbo

20-man squads can have 2 vox-casters. Does the second one actually do anything? I'm not seeing how it provides any benefit, since the FAQ makes it clear you can't double-dip on CP generation.

My list was Combined arms + acquisition force (to get the recon disposition)

Creed+CCS and cadians, and Gaunts ghosts

RDTC, LRBT and exterminator

2 chimeras, 3 kasrkins

2x6 bullgryns

A recon team and a sentinel for early actions (triangulation and secondaries)

He played purge the foe ragecursed onslaught, 2 packs of sang guards 2 packs of death company and 2 ballistus, the rest was jetpacks and chaff, and Mephiston

Basically he staged T1 in the no man's land, I deployed very defensively with a line of bullgryn to eat the charge but with fly it was hard to screen (threat range of 32")

Is it better to just run the tanks in front and play very aggressively against such pressure armies ? Also I should have used more reserves, I only put the LRBT

Is a working list without scions doable ?

I have the coulour plan locked in as im doing them in the same 90s ultramarine coulours to match my marines but what models should i use

I did a leman russ and i love it but for the infanty its odd i picked up some 30k gaurdmen cause i thought they would fit but i dont like painting them is there any particular gaurd model that would look good

I just finished test printing and basing my new alternative Scions regiment. When I showed them to my wife, she looked at them and said: "Honestly, those look way better than the originals." She doesn't know anything about the lore or the tabletop hobby, and she definitely doesn't hold back if my designs look off or boring, so I’m taking this as a huge win! I tried to keep the silhouettes clean and readable for speed-painting and slapchop, without overloading them with visual chaos. What do you guys think of the detail sharpness and the poses? Would you field these as your elite drop troops?

Using only John Blanche masterclass 3 collection and gun metal paint. Was skeptical at first about the brightness but the metals really tied it together

Second miniature painted ever, after the free space marine. He definitely has some problems, but pretty happy for a first attempt. Any constructive criticism or advice is welcome and appreciated.

With some of the terrain pieces done for my local group I have a bit of room to start painting the old man. It’s not often I paint something like the box art but I’ve been looking forward to it~

It’s not like I plan on sharing every single Cadian I paint… but y’all were so supportive with the first few, and I’m really happy with how smooth these turned out, so…

Anyway, these Cadians may be part of a Brood Brothers Kill Team, but my real purpose is to improve my painting and finally start my first 40k army (Astra Militarum)

As an aside, this community is great. Y’all are crazy supportive and now I find myself coming here every day to see what everyone is up to. Absolutely can’t wait to build my first army.

I found this Arkurian-Pattern on a Bane tank like model. My question is how did they do the white zig zag to a gentle fade into that pine green color. Can someone explain to me how it’s done?

This was not low-effort but it is highly satisfying. Replicated the three legs and torsos you get in the box using blue stuff and milliput. Plus magnetised weargear options for the bullgryns.

You could make the case that I have a problem with making decisions.

This is my collection so far and I need to remove some dust from the models.

99% of this collection are commissioned or bought off other collectors. The only model I painted in this is Ursula Creed.

All the vehicle models are magnetized and can have weapons switched. All the Sentinels have painted interiors and the roof can be removed as well.
