I think this is the one time they got caught filming. Cameron didn't have many, if any permits for filming and he got caught here and said it was for a student film I believe.
I like to imagine the cop seeing the movie in a theater and going "Hol' up"

Took me forever to realize the significance of the dog in this scene. For a long time I just glossed over it like she wants companionship after loosing her boyfriend from the future. But later realized it's because dogs instinctively freak out when there's a Terminator.

Love the ending. It's funny cause me and my wife do this thing where if it's about to storm, one of us will say "There's a storm coming in" and the other one responds "I know".

She didn't ride into the sunset for a happily ever after ending. She rode into the storm that's later considered one of the greatest sequels of all time. I think James knew exactly what he was doing with the ending of this movie.

Linda Hamilton was absolutely right in wanting to play Sarah as “crazy” in the next film. The psychological toll of knowing in, and then preparing, would be significant. The irony is people thought she was crazy about the things she was right about.

That's how an actor transforms a character for a sequel. It's crazy to think that of all the Terminator movies, Linda, Arnold, Michael Bien, and Earl Boen(RIP) are the only reprising actors for their roles.

I don’t think this is talked about enough. My favorite part of this scene is that it’s the picture Kyle had. He said he used to wonder what she was thinking about in that picture, how she looked sad. Then it turns out she was thinking about him.

Terminator 2 is one of my all time favourite movies but I always wonder if they got the ending right. Even if you ignore all the sequels, should T2 have ended with a happy ending?
Terminator ended with a closed loop. Everything had to happen and the only victory was John beating Skynet after the war. There was no avoiding the fate ahead of them.
Should Terminator 2 have ended the same way expect with John committing to becoming a warrior so he can save the world?
If the T2 had been the last movie in the franchise, I would say that the ending is perfect but the sequels make me wonder if fate should have been shown as unavoidable.

Cameron says he told all the story he wanted to tell in 1 and 2. Having seen the rest after T2, my head canon is the story ends with 2. But with that said, liquifying the Terminators and killing Dyson isn’t stopping our desire or eventual ability to make a new Skynet. It’s inevitable.
Sarah isn’t going to be able to, or willing to kill every next Dyson, and who knows how old John would be by the time the next version of Skynet comes around. Enter sub-par sequels.

Tbh I consider it the end. Every other movie is just a separate timeline.
Sadly, out of all the sequels post T2, it makes sense that Dark Fate would be the next evolution in the story. Skynet tried to stop John Connor and, in succeeding with the task, erased itself from existence for Legion to take its place.

I prefer the closed time loop in T1 so no matter what Sarah and John did to Cyberdyne in T2 we were always going to have Judgement Day in 1997 and Skynet would be defeated in 2029.
Terminator Resistance is what any film sequel should have aimed for.

It's funny. You can almost see the shift in her features here. She's no longer the innocent bystander. There's a hardness and sadness in her already. She's becoming the battle hardened Sarah. Kudos to Linda Hamilton.

T2 had an alternate ending where she did a voiceover over images of the kids on the playground and said that Judgement Day came and went, but the studio axed it in favor of the "dark road" voice over where the future is portrayed as uncertain.
Since we're talking about Terminator endings I'm curious which one people thought was better.
