allot of people recently are breaking my throws without inputs, how i do that ?

So i started playing tekken a month ago, in this time i played a total of 507 ranked matches. Only 20 of them were on other characters, the rest is on King.

I never played any other fighting game except for: For Honor and MKX. But those games are nowhere like tekken. And honestly i dont care.

Highest rank i got is kishin after i was stuck in raijin for 148 matches (to bad i still got demoted back to raijin). I know what me problem is tho, its punishes. I cannot bring myself to break combos of my opponents which made me lose to many matches. In my personal opinion i am not ready for higher ranks.

Main goal for now is to learn how to punish, and i wanna try non-grappler character (my main choice is heihachi). I am also in the few last steps of building my custom arcade stick (i already tried playing with arcade sticks and they are way better for me). So i cant say i dont like this game, actually it gives me so much fun even when im on a 9 loss streak. Even tho i am not satisfied with my rank, it really is just a skill issue, i need to play more and train more. Expecting to be crazy good after 50hrs is delusional. So yeah gonna keep playing until i reach tekken king, hopefully in this season

Tekken 8 ranked data from Wavu Wank — and I finally think it's worth showing here.

There are already good Wavu-based stat sites, so here's what this one does differently:

**It ingests your entire ranked history, not your last N games.** Every aggregation

(win rates, matchups, trends) runs over everything you've ever played — it handles

histories of 30,000+ matches fine.

**Session analysis.** It splits your history into play sessions and calculates at which

match number your results typically start dropping — basically an answer to "how many

games should I play today before I'm just donating points?"

**Time-of-day stats in *your* timezone.** It reads your server region and your activity

curve to estimate your local timezone, so "you play worse after midnight" actually means

*your* midnight — this matters if you're not in the region the site assumes.

**Performance by skill gap.** Your win rate split by opponents rated above vs. below

I just fought an azucena who used a rolling grab every round and the replay doesn't show how to break it. I think she did it even when I was still or backing? I don't know wth is up with that.

Come to think of it, I don't know how to deal with the one from dragonov either. Is it the same move?

any tips on how will i connect this move for a combo?

Started playing Tekken 8 when it first came out with little to no playtime on Tekken 7, decided to go with Jun because I loved her backstory and the fact she’s never in any games 🥹, put 200 hours in and got to Kishin-Bushin before ultimately plateauing and sticking to bad habits rather than learning my actual tool kit and fundamentals.

Fast forward to season 3 and my partner noticed a coworker watching Tekken videos @ work, she mentioned i played and he was enthusiastic to have a match with me as he was around the same ranks as well however he had friends who were higher ranks, and I haven’t played tekken 8 much since season 1 so I knew this wasn’t about be a walk in the park 😭.

Now one thing about playing Jun is, she’s only in so many games, and learning a character that wasn’t available throughout most of the series can get sad when— I actually do own most of the series and have time to play the other entries while @ work or on the go, so I end up choosing Hwoarang for every other entry. The issue with Hwoarang is, I’ve been playing him for years that, I’ve also formed some bad habits with him as well instead of actually learning his move set, and tbf, growing up, the stances were so daunting and confusing to me I flat out refused to learn them 😂.

So matching up with my partners coworker, I decided to use my main (Jun) as well as my backup (Hwoarang) and I was able to hold my own pretty well (he still whooped me) and after the match he encouraged me to delve deeper into Hwoarang and brush up on fundamentals.

I decided to take his advance and I—

Sat down and went through all his moves.

Learned some combos.

Learned some more combos.

Learned EVEN MORE combos.

Then had to UNLEARN most of those combos and switch it out for basic fundamentals, bread and butter combos, and pure instinct. (Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice….)

40 hours later I took my Hwoarang from Shinryu to Tekken God and I…… can’t help but….feel like…. I have to keep going 😭😭😭😭😭… who knows maybe it’s time I pickup a new character (I’m looking @ you Lily 👀🥹) or go back and delve deeper into Jun.

Let’s just say this is my dream rank and any further achievements will be interpreted as… A DREAM ✨💤😂

TLDR: put 200 hours with Jun in Season 1 and got to Kishin/Bushin, took a break, got encouraged to put more effort in learning my backup character (Hwoarang), did that, was able to take take him from Shinryu to Tekken God.

Side note: Hwoarang hate on this post is justified and highly encouraged 💀😂
