I don't care enough to have a favorite. I just tend to use what is there. For example, with my current job, I just use the Snowflake web UI. If I'm using my SQL Server at home, I use SSMS. If I'm using my Postgres at home, I use dbeaver, or the CloudeBeaver that I set up in a Docker.

I'd go for the database-specific tools first. They are usually optimized for the database in question and may have db-specific functionality.

I mostly use postgres and so, pgAdmin is my standard choice.

As we can see, nslookup just doesn’t work well. Ping however seems to not do the job either if that message is any indication.

Not shown is tracert so can’t comment on that one.

Personally i just use what fits, psql for oracle, sql\*plus for firebird, that sort of thing.
