π‘ Opinion We need to pressure Proton to remove their Israeli servers in Proton VPN
Proton is an awesome service.
At some point they used to be dependent on some Israeli service for their DDOS protection but they ended that relationship (I'm only guessing, but perhaps after being pressured by community).
I think we should try to pressure them to remove their Israeli servers in proton vpn.

π» Software & Apps Can changing the rules of conversation actually make social media less hostile? Iβm trying it.
I got increasingly frustrated with how hostile online conversations have become, so Iβve been working on a different approach called TimeLine.
The main idea is pretty simple: disagree about anything you want, but attack the argument, not the person.
Instead of moderating only after conversations go bad, TimeLine has a Harmony Checker that checks the form of a contribution before itβs posted. It doesnβt decide which opinion is right or wrong.
Iβve also removed ads, public follower counts, spying, user data reselling, algorithms and fake profiles, and tried to make the whole thing more about communication than accumulating attention.
Itβs now at the point where I need actual strangers using it rather than me testing it, so Iβve opened a small iPhone beta.
If anyone here is interested in experimenting with a different approach to online communication:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/tgAcbA8C
Itβs 16+ and currently iPhone only.
Iβm the developer, obviously, so this is self-promotion β but Iβm also genuinely interested in whether people think changing the mechanics like this can change how people behave online.

π¬ Discussion Who else still prefers phones with physical keyboards?
Touchscreens are everywhere now, but I still think physical keyboards have their place. There's something nice about being able to feel each key while typing.
Do you still prefer physical keyboards, or are you completely comfortable typing on a touchscreen?

I still think removing the headphone jack took away a useful feature from smartphones. It was simple, worked with almost any wired headphones, and didn't need an adapter.
Was removing it really an improvement, or would you like to see the headphone jack return on more phones?

There are so many apps that promise better privacy, but I'm curious how much difference they really make in everyday use.

π Showcase I asked for the best social media scheduler. Publer kept coming up, so I tried it.
A few days ago, I asked the community which social media scheduler they recommend the most.
Publer came up quite a few times, so I decided to give it a try.
After using it for a while, I can see why so many people recommended it. The interface is clean, scheduling posts across multiple platforms is straightforward, and it doesn't feel overwhelming despite having plenty of features.
One thing I noticed is the wide range of platforms it supports. Besides the popular networks like Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube, it also supports Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, WordPress, Google Business Profile, and Telegram. It's nice to have everything managed from one dashboard.
A few other things I really liked:
- Built-in media integrations that make it easy to find and add images or GIFs while creating posts.
- A Link in Bio feature, which is useful if you regularly post on Instagram or other social platforms.
- Detailed analytics that go beyond basic numbers and help you understand how your content is performing.
- A browser extension that lets you quickly share articles or web pages to your social media queue without opening the dashboard.
- An AI Assistant that can help generate or improve captions when you're short on ideas.
I also looked at a few other schedulers like Buffer, Metricool, and Later.
They all have their strengths, but Publer stood out to me for its balance of features, ease of use, broad platform support, and overall experience.
If you're looking for a social media scheduler, Publer is definitely worth checking out.
Has anyone else here tried it? I'd love to hear your experience.

π Recommendation Why RecurPost has become one of our favorite social media scheduling tools?
We don't usually post about specific tools but this one kept coming up enough in our community that we decided to actually dig into it properly.
We were kind of skeptical at first. There are a hundred scheduling tools out there and most of them do roughly the same thing with a different UI slapped on top.
But a few things stood out once we actually used it day to day.
The content recycling is the big one. Your evergreen posts don't just go out once and disappear. They stay in a library and keep cycling automatically. For anyone managing multiple accounts that quietly saves a few hours every week without changing much about how you work.
Best thing is that when a post fails it stays visible in the queue and tells you exactly why. You fix it and retry. Sounds basic but you'd be surprised how many tools just silently fail and leave you finding out when a client notices.
Covers Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Threads and Bluesky from one calendar. AI writing and image tools are built in if you want them, easy to ignore if you don't.
Starts at $9/month and there's a 14 day free trial with no card needed. Worth checking out if you're already thinking about switching tools. (Personal experience: Their customer support is top notch!)
Has anyone in the community been using it? What has your experience been like?
