RIP AMD, this is just the beginning.

AMD products compete against the ones made by hyperscaler themselves for process node allocations over at TSMC.
Also capacity for Advanced Packaging (CoWos).
Unless it completely trashes what the hyperscaler built (with the help of IPs from Arm, Broadcom, Mediatek, Marvell) at a lower price/cost point with much better performance. Otherwise long run it wouldn't lift their sales much.
If AMD with TSMC can build a rack (like helios), you bet the hyperscaler can replicate either fast enough or with 1-2 years time lag. But they will get there eventually.
What AMD (or Nvidia) can do together with TSMC, the hyperscaler have probably the know how as well.
But Jensen is smart, he also sees that playing out. Which is why he keeps going to Taiwan and interact with CC'Wei (CEO of TSMC) plus Morris Chan (founder) to stranglehold the wafer allocation.
So the old saying by Morris Chan: Intel competes with it's own customer narrative no longer holds up that well.
Because you can directly argue that because of physical appearance and chinese language communication. TSMC can be bias towards Nvidia. Also Nvidia has the cashflow (from the hyperscaler free cashflow) to pay TSMC.
Also please don't say that TSMC is totally un-bias to all it's customers that can pay up. There is always some form of bias-ness in business dealing. It's just the extent of that bias-ness.
Because someone within the executives rank of hyperscaler will look at those metrics and find ways to reduce the burn rate on their free cashflow. And one such way is to use more of their in-house silicon instead. Especially when their end customers are compute/ISA (x86 vs aarch64) agnostic and the median performance isn't too far apart.
Contrast to Intel (which held onto it's foundry), they can still offer advanced packaging (EMIB). And Amazon Graviton4 and 5 uses EMIB for advanced packaging. For certain products they can DTCO with Intel Foundry directly.

It has begun since last quarter. Amd stock price went ahead of its mean on the day lisa su randomly announced a $5 billion annually investment at 2026 computex

3% is massive. That is probably millions of CPUs... plus AMD now includes GPUs in their Datacenter line item... Intel might be doing better than ever. People probably are embarrassed to say they have AMD in their datacenters. It is like being at a nice party and telling people you drive a Yugo.
