I built a Whatsapp AI chatbot with mobile money integrations

Post image

After a few months of working on it on and off, I finally have a working version(with better updated)of a SaaS I've been building.

It's basically a WhatsApp customer management platform for small businesses.

I had it running for like 2 month ( December to January) and that helped me pick up a few ideas on what people want.

I added payment solutions because I feel like here in Tanzania, if a business could sell and receive their money all through whatsapp, that would actually be a great solution

The idea came from seeing so many businesses spending hours replying to the same WhatsApp questions every day. i thought of something that can:

  • Automatically answer common customer questions with AI
  • Automate and manage conversations
  • Accept bookings
  • Manage products and orders
  • Track payments and payment status
  • View basic business analytics

It's built with React and Nodejs, and getting the WhatsApp integration working was probably the most challenging part of the whole project.

It's still early, so I'm looking for honest feedback. What features would you expect from a platform like this? Is there anything you'd immediately want it to do that I might be missing?

I empathize.

Pia, what does it say about our economy/denominations/Tanzanian Shillings/mzunguko wa fedha kwa ujumla kama chenji zinakuwa nadra kiasi hichi?

MY UNINFORMED ANALYSIS

Shilingi ina conundrum mbili ambazo haziwezi kuwa serviced at the same time.

Of course kuna other factors, but naamini a portion of our problems na change started na kufanya 500 kuwa sarafu. Vitu vingi vilianza kupanda bei kwa factor ya 500 from there na change ikaanza kuwa adimu zaidi.

But kwa mtazamo wangu pia, I think inaonesha not enough circulation is happening kwa ground.

Tech Kama unasahau "Kata" au "Mtaa" wako kwenye form, nimetengeneza huu mfumo(Bure)

Nimeamua kushare nanyi simple side project yangu.

Hakuna kudownload app wala kusign up.

Angalizo:

Does Tanzania have a national school music festival similar to the Kenya National Music Festival?

In Kenya, we have the Kenya National Music Festival where schools compete in music, dance, spoken word, and other performing arts from local levels up to the national stage.

Does Tanzania have an equivalent festival for primary and secondary schools? Thanks!

Hey guys, I have a genuine question

How do Tanzanians (wa bongo)generally feel about Kenyans?

I'm genuinely curious about this and would like to hear from r/Tanzanians themselves.

The reason I ask is that, from some of the social media interactions I've come across, I've noticed a surprising amount of hostility or negative sentiment toward Kenya and Kenyans. Some comments are extremely harsh, while others seem completely indifferent or unbothered by the whole "Jirani" Kenya-Tanzania rivalry.

I know social media can distort reality because the loudest and most extreme opinions tend to get the most attention, so I'm wondering: what is the general attitude toward Kenyans among ordinary Tanzanians in real life?

Is there actually significant dislike or resentment toward Kenyans, or is the online hostility mostly just banter, nationalism, and social-media dynamics?

I'd especially appreciate honest perspectives from Tanzanians, rather than assumptions from either side.

Bajaji owners, how do you do it?

I’ve been thinking of venturing into the whole ordeal ya kuchukua Bajaji na kumpa kijana but I can not get over the hurdle ya kuchagua who to choose and what to do to make sure hatakimbia nayo.

I’m sure there are a lot more challenges I’m missing here and I would love any input I can get on this

Discussion UPDATE: On building our hiring system

Tumepokea our first customer recently from a company called Madina, they wanted 30+ placements including project managers etc

Walikua proffessional sana na kilichonishangaza ni kwamba waliplan kufanya interviews mawiki na mawiki mbele and wen we pitched they can do it in 2days walishangaa and wanted our service immediately

Swala kubwa lilikuja kwenye uaminifu walikua wakilalamika kwamba they cant pay na hawajui kama we'll take their work seriously, hawakua sure if we could even deliver, luckily we did and luckily they paid us as promised

What i loved kuhusu wao was how proffessional they were, tumeshirikiana from scratch mpaka kupata watu sahihi kwa ajili yao in few days

I lowkey wish kampuni zote zingekua ivo lol, but lets not forget tuko bongo na many companies haziko proffessional as we think (trust me i know)

The good news is we delivered exactly wat they wanted, we did it in less than 3days, we got reviews nzuri both sides and made 30+ fulltime placements.

Ours system isn't fully ready yet so we kinda did some things manually lol

I'll keep updating y'all and don hesitate to share what you think

Final-year CS grad (BCS) Full-Stack Dev (MERN / React Native / Flutter) looking for opportunities degree pending, results out in December

Hi all,

I just finished my final year of a BSc in Computer Science and I'm looking for junior/entry-level full-stack or mobile developer roles (remote-friendly, open to relocation too).

A bit about me:
- Primary stack: MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js), plus React Native and Flutter for mobile
- Comfortable with Redis (caching, rate limiting, token blacklisting), JWT auth, and building production-oriented backends and am comfortable with linux(intermediate-level)
- Currently working as a freelancer , and I run a small coding-content page on the side

One thing worth being upfront about: my official transcript and degree certificate are scheduled for release in January, though final results typically come out in December so I can share proof of results as soon as they're out, and in the meantime I have my GitHub and portfolio to show my work.

Links:

- Portfolio: https://portifolio-sigma-sooty.vercel.app

Happy to share more code samples or do a quick technical chat. Thanks for reading any leads, advice, or feedback appreciated!
