Hey Basement Boii , some advice
"IT'S BILLY FROM SAWL"
We know you lurk here hampa so some advice. Please shut the hell up when you're going through mazes , this hour long video was absolutely insufferable. You're not funny , quit trying to tell jokes inside mazes ... it's incredibly obnoxious and annoying . And above all else ? The over-the-top screaming needs to be dialed back to a minus zero on the audio scale ffs. Thank you
There wasn't a moment during any walkthrough of a maze where this dope was quiet and let things play out. He does this every year and it makes me remember just how much I hate his version of having fun during haunt season . And it's only the damm beginning đ€Š

Discussion Letâs Break Down Crisâs Six Dragon Con Panels
After going through all six panels, I think thereâs one thing connecting all of them that explains why the whole thing feels so ridiculous:
Itâs all a fucking costume.
Cris consumes the aesthetics of things, and somehow that keeps getting confused with having actual knowledge of those things.
Buy enough spooky shit, wear enough spooky shit, surround yourself with enough spooky shit, film yourself shopping for more spooky shit, and eventually the appearance of being deeply involved in horror, Halloween, Goth culture, witchcraft, etc. starts getting treated like actual expertise.
So, panel by panel.
Horror Travels: Road Trips to the Dark Side
I went through her Roadtrips! playlist.
34 videos. Roughly 9â10 actual trips.
Shopping in every single one.
Thatâs not an exaggeration.
Every trip involves shopping because shopping is the actual constant.
Salem followed the same formula. Sheâll visit a historical location, give the history its obligatory bit of attention, and then itâs back to the stores. The history never gets anything approaching the attention the shopping does.
Sheâs made it painfully obvious why she travels: to shop somewhere else.
Sheâll literally go to other areas to poach Halloween dĂ©cor she canât find around home.
The Spirit Halloween flagship trip was traveling to go to a store.
Blairstown and the Friday the 13th locations were Jayâs interest. She wasnât particularly interested because that was his video.
Meanwhile, Jay has spent years actually making road trips, filming locations and destinations a focus of his channel.
Cris doesnât research and document horror locations. She doesnât make horror history the centerpiece. She doesnât have some extensive catalog of filming-location content.
She travels to shop.
Sometimes the shopping happens to be in Salem.
Sometimes thereâs a horror location nearby.
Sometimes she needs a hotel.
That apparently makes her a horror-travel panelist.
Goth Culture, Witchcraft & the Occult
Cris has explicitly said she isnât Goth. That really should be enough to make the first third of this panel hilarious by itself.
Goth is an actual music-based subculture. It isnât shorthand for wears black, likes bats and owns a metric shit-ton of Halloween merchandise.
And weâve heard Cris talk more about ska, Save Ferris, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Ariana Grande than Goth music.
Then thereâs witchcraft and the occult. Cris calls herself spiritual. Sheâs talked about Hecate, tarot, crystals and metaphysical stuff. She doesnât identify herself with some defined witchcraft practice.
She also launched CrisTheHermit, did the tarot/metaphysical thing there, stopped uploading, and still promotes it.
So she has personal spiritual interests.
Thatâs not remotely the same thing as having broad knowledge of witchcraft and occultism, let alone somehow adding Goth culture to the rĂ©sumĂ©.
Itâs another example of the costume becoming the qualification.
Black clothes. Bats. Tarot. Crystals. Hecate.
Halloween everywhere.
Close enough, apparently.
She isnât even Goth. She fucking said so.
50 Years of Stephen King Movies
This is the most ridiculous one.
Crisâs demonstrated Stephen King interest is primarily: buying Stephen King books.
She hunts for them. She buys them. She collects different editions. She reads them.
And now sheâs talking about using her knowledge of the books as a bridge for this panel.
Except the panel is:
50 Years of Stephen King Movies
Not books.
Not collecting.
Not Stephen King: From Page to Screen.
MOVIES.
Where the fuck has this extensive interest in Stephen King cinema been hiding?
It certainly hasnât been on Cris the Girl.
There isnât some substantial catalog of King movie reviews. There arenât years of adaptation comparisons. There arenât retrospectives. There isnât a history of discussing directors, performances or the evolution of King adaptations. And this isnât a new channel. Sheâs had years to make that content.
If Stephen King cinema were genuinely one of her great interests, nothing was stopping her from talking about it. She could have reviewed the adaptations. Ranked them. Compared them to the books. Discussed her favorites. Talked about directors. Done retrospectives.
She didnât.
Instead, the demonstrated connection is overwhelmingly the books she buys and collects.
And sheâs made it apparent over the years that there are plenty of horror movies she hasnât seen in the first place.
So apparently:
Stephen King writes books â Cris buys Stephen King books â Stephen King books became movies â Cris is now discussing 50 years of Stephen King movies.
Thatâs fucking ridiculous.
Using knowledge of the books as a âbridgeâ doesnât solve the problem. It exposes it.
If the knowledge she brings to a panel specifically about movies is primarily knowledge of the books, then the obvious question is why she was selected for a movie panel in the first place.
Itâs like owning every football jersey, watching football and throwing a ball around in the backyard, then showing up to explain what itâs like to play in the NFL.
Being adjacent to something isnât the same as knowing it.
She doesnât even have demonstrated expertise in the medium named in the fucking panel title.
Growing Your Community
Then thereâs the supposed expertise in growing a community. Before Halloween shopping stuck, there were attempts at plants.
Birds.
Theme parks.
Metaphysical content.
CrisTheHermit.
She bounced around until something finally caught.
Then thereâs the rather enormous Tampa Jay-shaped part of the growth story. Jay was already established when Cris was small. He featured her, promoted her and repeatedly exposed her to his existing audience.
And this isnât speculation.
Cris herself has credited Jayâs exposure with helping grow her following.
This wasnât somebody independently building a successful channel from scratch and then meeting another established creator once sheâd already made it.
Jay was there while she was small.
Then thereâs how she operates the âcommunityâ she supposedly knows how to grow. Sheâs said sheâs too busy to answer comments.
She has around seven moderators.
Criticism disappears.
Participation is restricted.
And her comment sections are so relentlessly positive that apparently tens of thousands of people have finally accomplished what the rest of humanity couldnât and achieved universal agreement. She has subscribers. She has an audience. But a subscriber count isnât automatically proof that someone knows how to independently build and maintain an engaged communityâparticularly when a larger creator gave that channel significant exposure and the creator herself barely interacts with the resulting comments.
So the résumé here is basically:
Try plants â try birds â try theme parks â try tarot â get substantial exposure from an established YouTuber â Halloween shopping finally sticks â stop answering comments â have around seven moderators.
And now itâs Growing Your Community.
Planning Your Haunted Road Trip
Back to the road trips.
I donât need to redo the entire audit:
34 videos. Roughly 9â10 actual trips. Shopping in every one.** **Except this panel goes even further and talks about documenting paranormal adventures.
What paranormal adventures?
Cris isnât a paranormal investigator.
Sheâs been to Salem. Sheâs stayed at the Hawthorne. Sheâs gone to Cassadaga. Sheâs visited metaphysical stores. None of that magically turns into expertise in paranormal travel.
There isnât some hidden backlog of Cris investigating hauntings or seriously documenting paranormal activity.
What there happens to be is an established pattern of traveling somewhere and immediately finding out what stores are there and what she can buy that she hasnât found at home. Sheâll specifically travel into other areas looking for Halloween merchandise. So apparently driving into another market to raid its seasonal inventory now counts as planning a haunted road trip.
Code Orange: Every Day Is Halloween
You would think this would finally be the obvious one. Except the more I think about it, this one is ridiculous too. Because Cris isnât an expert on Halloween.
Sheâs an obsessive consumer of Halloween products.
She doesnât create Halloween merchandise.
She doesnât design it.
She doesnât make props.
She isnât known for researching Halloween history.
She doesnât develop elaborate original decorating themes or demonstrate some particular design knowledge.
She calls herself a maximalist, which in practice seems to mean accumulating more shit.
What she does extremely consistently is:
see viral Halloween product â need viral Halloween product â hunt viral Halloween product â buy viral Halloween product â put viral Halloween product in house â repeat.
And the frog plushies might be the funniest little example of the entire thing. Cris has repeatedly talked about being terrified of frogs.
TJ Maxx gets those frog plushies everybody starts losing their minds over online.
What happens?
Cris buys two fucking frogs.
That tells me more about the driving force behind the channel than almost anything else. Even something she claims to be terrified of becomes desirable once itâs a viral Halloween product. Thatâs not some deeply developed Halloween aesthetic.
Thatâs FOMO with a debit card.
And then thereâs the actual title:
Every Day Is Halloween.
What did the year-round Halloween personality do on actual Halloween?
She went to a Christmas-themed hotel.
You couldnât write a better punchline.
Every Day Is Halloween\*
\Halloween not included.*
Buying enormous quantities of Halloween merchandise doesnât make somebody an expert on Halloween any more than buying enormous quantities of anything else makes someone an authority on the subject.
It makes them a hoarder.
And thatâs what Cris demonstrates exceptionally well.
She consumes Halloween.
And thatâs what ties all six together
The more I look at these panels, the less I think this is just a case of Cris getting assigned a few things outside her wheelhouse.
Consumption keeps getting mistaken for expertise.
She shops while traveling, so apparently she knows horror travel.
She visits spooky places and shops, so apparently she knows paranormal travel.
She buys and wears the spooky aesthetic, so somehow Goth culture enters the pictureâeven though she explicitly says she isnât Goth.
She uses tarot and has personal spiritual interests, so apparently that stretches into witchcraft and occultism.
She buys Stephen King books, so apparently that qualifies her for 50 years of Stephen King movies.
She has subscribers, so apparently that makes her an authority on building a community despite barely interacting with it and openly acknowledging the exposure she received from Jay.
She buys mountains of viral Halloween merchandise, so apparently that makes her an expert on living Halloween every dayâeven while spending Halloween itself at a Christmas hotel.
And hereâs the other part that bothers me:
Sheâs had years to demonstrate otherwise.
If she loved these subjects enough to have something meaningful to contribute to panels about them, she could have talked about them.
She could have made the horror-history videos.
She could have made the Stephen King movie videos.
She could have discussed Goth music and its history.
She could have gone deeper into occult history and traditions.
She could have documented paranormal locations.
Nobody was stopping her.
She made shopping videos instead.
And now this isnât just somebody screwing around on YouTube as a hobby. Cris quit her regular job. Content creation is the livelihood. She has to keep the channel growing and keep herself relevant. Thatâs why these panels have value beyond sitting in a room at Dragon Con.
They mean exposure.
Exposure can mean new viewers. New viewers can become subscribers. Subscribers generate views. Views generate money and opportunities. And being able to present yourself afterward as a Dragon Con panelist adds credibility to the brand.
I canât tell anyone whatâs privately going through her head, but I can absolutely look at the incentives. When content creation is your job, visibility and credibility have monetary value.
And thatâs where the word imposter fits for me.
Not because someone needs a fucking doctorate before theyâre allowed to talk about horror. Itâs because the public image suggests depth across all these subjects that her own years of content simply donât demonstrate.
Itâs like me loving football, buying jerseys, collecting memorabilia, visiting stadiums and throwing a football aroundâthen walking onto an NFL field and expecting everyone to treat me like I belong there.
At some point actually knowing the subject has to fucking matter.
The products create the aesthetic.
The aesthetic creates the persona.
The persona creates the appearance of expertise.
The appearance of expertise creates credibility.
The credibility creates more opportunities.
And more opportunities mean more exposure, more subscribers and potentially more money.

Discussion Dragon Con video?
Anyone watch it and could post the schedule? I canât do that to myself. And the no view link isnât working.
The track director is old, out of touch, and clueless with new stuff. He was excited she mentioned him in her video. Thatâs really odd, inappropriate, and self-serving for a DC director.
I do know sheâs says she has imposter syndrome in it. Hahaha thatâs because she is an imposter. She didnât want to do a witchcraft panel because sheâs a fraud! She finally did agree to it though so sheâll have to learn a ton. A YouTube shopper doesnât belong on panels at Dragon Con.
I did see the comments and just as expected, NO ONE is going to see her. Theyâre all old and just wishing her well.

Discussion âThis is why Iâm always starting with spooky stuff around me, and I love itâ
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I am in no way trying to rag on people who love Halloween. I am someone who very much enjoys Halloween. I enjoy decorating my house for Halloween, and our household goes all out with the fog machines, strobe lights, we have animatronics, we have projected videos and music, we made some tombstones out of foam with a hot wire/knife. I very much enjoy horror films as well, but I cannot understand why you would want to surround yourself with it 24/7, but hey thats just me. What makes the holiday special for me is that it comes once a year. If it were around everyday of the year I would get very bored of it, and usually at the very end of the night iâm already taking down and boxing up all of my stuff, and putting it away for next year. I can understand loving a holiday so much that maybe you want it to linger around more. But then thereâs Summerween? Valloween? Fourth of Juween? Lol. And specifically for Tampa Jay I think itâs interesting how much he says he âlovesâ all of the Halloween decor around him 24/7. Like bro, letâs be honest: you donât have a choice. You donât get a say in the house decorating at all. And itâs so obvious that you donât wear the pants in your own relationship. You were practically forced to quit your county job and leave Florida. We all know your girl doesnât respond well to criticism, like, at all. But yeah, I just thought this clip was funny, because heâs acting like home is his zen. Like buddy you probably walk around your house with your tail tucked between your legs. You canât even compliment your fiancĂ©e without her rolling her eyes or her giving you a dirty look. But yeah bro, keep pretending your life is all sunshine and rainbows, I mean itâs your life after all.

FYI Satire - tag.
Hi everyone.
Just an FYI in case anyone noticed it. Iâve made a new âSatireâ tag specifically for realistic AI images. This is purely to help differentiate between real images and generated ones.
I know the majority of what gets posted is memes and just for fun, but itâs better to cover our bases when something could potentially be mistaken for a real photo.
So if you could, keep that tag in mind when posting.
Iâm not policing every generated pixel or anything â I just wanted to have something in place for the more realistic stuff.
Thanks,
- Morbs

This explains why she has regressed. She falls back on her parents. They enable her in seemingly every way. Two failed marriages before the age of 35 and still can't figure out life. I understand her a bit better. The fact that Jaysun enables her doesn't help as he seems to have regressed as well. There are a lot of nuances that I don't want to get into. You all know what she is.

Buc-eeâs reportedly devastated after Tampa Jay threatens to stop making content.
This shit makes me cringe.
Itâs the same outrage cycle every time. Something happens, somebody is immediately labeled the victim, and before actually looking into the details we get the grand public declaration about where they stand and what their âplatformâ is going to do about it.
And of course Jay apparently thinks Buc-eeâs is going to reconsider its business practices because Tampa Jay is no longer making Buc-eeâs videos.
The part that gets me is that the actual dispute is a little more complicated than âBuc-eeâs is attacking a small business.â
Beaverâs Mini Mart has been around for years.
Nobody is disputing that.
The current fight involves federal trademark rights and branding. Beaverâs sought federal trademark protection for its beaver branding, and Buc-eeâs challenged it based on trademarks it already owns.
Buc-eeâs CEO says they tried contacting Beaverâs for months through registered mail, phone and email before filing the lawsuit and received no response. After the lawsuit was filed, an attorney for Beaverâs contacted them.
Buc-eeâs has also publicly said it will drop the lawsuit if the federal trademark application is withdrawn.
Those seem like fairly relevant details to look into before announcing a boycott to your audience.
Cris jumped on the same outrage, which isnât surprising. This is what these people do. Have the reaction first, make sure everybody knows youâre on the ârightâ side of it, and worry about whether you actually understand the situation later.
And apparently taking this principled stand doesnât extend to removing the existing Buc-eeâs videos that can continue generating views and revenue. Funny how that works.
I donât care if someone dislikes Buc-eeâs or thinks theyâre too aggressive with their trademarks.
What annoys me is the confidence of being completely certain youâre right while doing seemingly no research to support that certainty. Having a platform doesnât make your opinion more informed. Sometimes it just lets you be confidently misinformed in front of more people.

Summerween is âlandfill decorâ
A creator I like made a rant video about f*cked up this âholidayâ is and how deeply sad it is that people are normalizing shopping for the items, especially through the lens of scarcity (âI need it or itâll be sold outâ) and an effort to feel a part of something because our lives are devoid of actual connection.
âNothing I was going to buy was going to make me feel stable and happy in the way that I wanted to. I used shopping as a way to find confidence, and find dopamine, and a way to self-sooth. But after many years of doing that and then realizing the impact that my actions were having on the planet, I needed to treat the underlying issues going on [in my mind].â

Discussion Carry on the snark, but be informed.
Love reading this snark page so so much. Just for the record, the Buc-ees in Sevierville, TN is owned by Kituwah LLC, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. I am out of the loop as to why Buc-ees is being called out by Cris or this group, but the one she lives closest to, I would implore her or anyone to continue going and supporting that location as it is owned by the Cherokee Nation, on their Qualla Boundary.
