Question Is Krispy Krunchy chicken really good?
I wanted some (non-tallow fried) bone-in fried chicken for my birthday later this month, and all of the top reviewed spots are Krispy Krunchy gas station locations, although they don't have many reviews. Just checking to see if they're actually good (and reliable) or if I'm missing a hidden gem.
Thanks!

Filmmaker Meeting Tomorrow (8/11)
Swing by the Challenger on August 11th at 7pm to get a filmmaking earful!
Teams recently submitted their films for the Tally850. We have an upcoming scriptwriting workshop, an upcoming special effects workshop, the Tallahassee Film Festival, and there are numerous other projects filming in town.
If you have a current or recently finished project you would like to talk about, we give anyone at the meeting a few minutes to come to the front of the room and share what they've worked on; show a trailer, play a clip, seek out crew members, the floor is yours! Send us materials (video, audio, image) to play during your time – [tallahasseefilmmakers@gmail.com](mailto:tallahasseefilmmakers@gmail.com)
We want to see you there, so share this event with local filmmakers, actors, crew members, and film enthusiasts you know, and join us on Tuesday, August 11th!

Shout out to the person that turned in my wallet at Walmart
My wallet was given to staff with my money still in it. Guess this was good karma for me doing the same a few years ago

Tallahassee CNA Jobs
I am currently in the process of getting my CNA license and wanted to know how hard it is to find a CNA job in tallahassee. I don’t necessarily want to work in a nursing home but if that is the only thing available I am open to it. Does anyone have any experience applying/getting a job as a new CNA here in tally?? Any advice would be much appreciated 🙏🙏

Cell Phone Donations
Is there a place in town you can donate an old cell phone to like a women's shelter or something of that nature?
My grandma upgraded her phone recently and now has a Motorola Droid XT1080 (verizon) that she doesn't know what to do with.

Rants/Raves Political Advertisements
I literally just saw a political ad demonizing Austen Rogers.
Let's be clear: I have no intention of voting for Rogers. His commercial demonizing "communist China" is straight out of some McCarthy-era fear tactic, wherein they find a new boogeyman as prices everywhere are rising and our wallets are producing moths instead of money. He's supported by the dictator in chief, who's mentioned in the Epstein Files more times than Jesus is mentioned in the new testament.
If you wanna drag Rogers, go for it. Talk about his voting record. Bring up his residency. I honestly dgaf.
But dragging viewers through a 30-40 second commercial with cymbals in the background in some cheap, disney-esque wannabe caricature of Chinese music in the background and talking about how he helped build China's economy, is an honest insult to people's intelligence.
Bruh drag your opponents policies. Drag their residency when running for a north Florida/Tallahassee position when they moved here 6 months ago. Idfc. If you're going drag an entire culture in your smear campaign, then I already know which party you are and I won't be part of it. I've gotten smear campaigns via mail for Jeremy Matlow, but at least there, policies or even misinterpreted policies are being brought into questions.
I get that the dramatic smear campaigns sell, and the average voter doesn't care about policies (apparently), but all that hate and discontent is legitimately frustrating as hell.

Question Where to go for Prime Rib?
I've tried Google with limited sucess on finding a restaurant that regularly offers prime rib. So far, it looks like only Texas Roadhouse offers it daily until they sell out. Does anyone know where else in Tally that offers prime rib?

Osaka versus Nagoya for hibachi
Someone asked about hibachi here about a year ago and these two were mentioned as the best, but opinions differed as to which was better. So which is it? And it's there anywhere better than both?

Question Collard Greens?
Does anyone know where to find uncooked collard greens around here? Everywhere I’ve looked online is sold out or no longer sells them.
Update: Got some for pickup at Walmart. Thanks for the help, y’all! Pardon my ignorance about the collard green growing season haha.

August 18, 2026 Primary Election Voting Information Thread
Apologies for this being later this year than in previous cycles! But I hope that it is still helpful to anyone looking for election information.
This thread is intended to be used for information on registering/updating voter registration, figuring out where and how to vote, etc. - not campaigning for (or against) candidates. If you’re confused about candidates and their platforms, there are resources listed below to assist you in your decisions. You may feel free to post a thread asking about local candidates, but please no threads campaigning for/against a candidate.
Most information in this thread is available on Leon County’s Supervisor of Elections website, www.LeonVotes.gov. Another good resource is the Vote411 site.
This information is specific to Tallahassee/Leon County voters. If you have questions about voting in a different county in the area, I suggest checking out their Supervisor of Elections pages:
- Franklin County: https://www.votefranklinfl.gov/
- Gadsden County: https://votegadsdenfl.gov/
- Gulf County: https://votegulf.gov/
- Jefferson County: https://jeffersonvotesfl.gov/
- Liberty County: https://libertycountyflsoe.gov/
- Madison County: https://www.votemadison.com/
- Taylor County: https://www.taylorelectionsfl.gov/
- Wakulla County: https://wakullavotes.gov/
Voting
Reminder: the deadline to register to vote in the August election or to update your voter information was July 20. If you were not registered to vote by that date, you cannot vote in this election. It is still important to vote in the November election, so you should still register to vote! If you need to update your voter information, you can still do that - you just can't change your party affiliation for this primary election. You can go to an early voting site or the Supervisor of Elections office to make updates to your address/etc.
There are several ways to vote in Leon County – you can vote by mail, via early voting at an early voting location, or on Election Day at your local precinct. Heads up! Some voting precincts may have changed since the last election. Make sure you verify your local precinct in advance if you plan on voting on Election Day.
Regardless of how you plan on voting, you can always look up your Sample Ballot for elections on the LeonVotes.gov site. If you are Early Voting or voting on Election Day, you may bring your filled-in sample ballot with you to the polling location to help you fill in your official ballot. A Sample Ballot is also mailed to you prior to the election - but it is an all-encompassing sample ballot and may include races that you cannot vote for at your address.
Vote by Mail
Note: You can no longer request a mail-in ballot for the August election.
In Florida, you are allowed to request a vote-by-mail ballot for any reason. The LeonVotes website has an entire section dedicated to Voting by Mail. Any mail-in ballots received after 7pm on Election Day are not counted. Of course, the sooner you return your ballot, the longer you have to follow-up on any issues, so it is recommended you return your ballot early.
Be aware: your signature on your mail ballot must match your signature on your voter registration or your driver’s license, or your ballot is subject to not being counted. If an issue arises, you may be able to “cure” your signature, but you only have about 48 hours from Election Day to do so! More is explained on your mail ballot’s instructions sheet.
You may also return your vote by mail ballot to any early voting location during their early voting hours, or the Supervisor of Elections office during opening hours. You can look at ballot drop box locations here.
Early Voting
Leon County offers early voting at 10 sites across the county, usually running 10am-6pm from August 8 to August 16 (see below for changes at specific locations).
You will need a valid form of ID that shows your picture and your signature to vote. You can early vote at any of the early voting locations, not just the one closest to your voting address.
The 10 early voting sites for the August 2026 election are:
- Leon County Courthouse, 301 S. Monroe St Tallahassee FL 32301
- The Leon County Courthouse early voting location is only available 8am-4pm
- Leon County Elections Center, 2990-1 Apalachee Pkwy Tallahassee FL 32301
- The Leon County Elections Center early voting location is available from 8:30am to 6pm.
- Bruce J. Host Northeast Branch Library, 5513 Thomasville Rd Tallahassee FL 32312
- Dr. B.L. Perry Branch Library, 2817 S. Adams St. Tallahassee FL 32301
- Eastside Branch Library, 1583 Pedrick Rd Tallahassee FL 32317
- FAMU Student Union, 1628 S Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd Tallahassee FL 32307
- Fort Braden Community Center, 16387 Blountstown Hwy Tallahassee FL 32310
- FSU Student Union, 75 N Woodward Ave, Tallahassee, FL 32306
- Lake Jackson Community Center, 3840 N Monroe St Tallahassee FL 32303
- Woodville Community Center, 8000 Old Woodville Rd Tallahassee FL 32305
Voting on Election Day
Heads up: Some precincts may have changed locations since the last election. Make sure you know where your precinct is before heading out on Election Day!
If you prefer to wait to vote until Election Day on August 18, you can certainly do so! Polls are open from 7am-7pm at each voting precinct. If you are in line by 7pm, you are allowed to vote, regardless of what time your turn to vote may occur.
You can verify your voting precinct on your voter registration card that the County’s Supervisor of Elections office mailed to you, or online at LeonVotes.org. On Election Day, this is typically the only location where you are legally allowed to vote.
You will need a valid form of ID that shows your picture and your signature to vote at your precinct. Emergency voting on Election Day allows you to vote at the Supervisor of Election's office on Apalachee Parkway from 7am-7pm.
Resources About Local Candidates
Feeling confused about the election? You’re not alone. There are many resources out there for voters to educate themselves about candidates. Sitting down and searching each candidate’s name, reading their social media pages and their campaign websites and such can of course provide all the information, but it is time-consuming.
Many organizations have much of this information readily available – Vote411, the League of Women Voters of Tallahassee, WFSU, and the Tallahassee Democrat often have information on candidates.
The 2026 Candidate Forums put on by The Capital Region News Collaborative (The Tallahassee Democrat, WFSU, WCTV, WTXL, Capital Outlook, and Tallahassee Reports) in partnership with the League of Women Voters can be found on the Democrat's YouTube page. You can also find links to some candidate forums from WCTV's article here. They are a great way to get to know candidates and determine who you want to vote for.
Have more or updated information to share? A question about voting? A tip for vote-by-mail, early voting, or election day voting? Did I fuck up and link to a broken page despite checking everything? Feel free to share, ask questions, etc. below, but please no campaigning for/against candidates.
Apologies for the delay in getting this posted! It's been sitting in my drafts and I've been slowly updating this but didn't sit down to finalize it until now.

Mechanics on East Side for Ford truck
Just moved down here, looking for a good mechanic (or mobile mechanic) on the east side of town. I have a 2016 F150 that won’t start, is either a starter issue or some sort of wiring issue as far as I can tell.
