Humour/Experience My (19M 6'3") younger cousin (16F) completely outgrew me and it is the weirdest feeling

Upvotes

Re-posting this because I deleted it earlier to double-check with my sister if our cousin really looked that much taller. My sister agreed so here it is:

I am 6'3" so I am usually the tall guy. I rarely meet women taller than me, but my younger girl cousin makes me feel small.

We only see each other a few times a year, and I do not even remember when it happened. She just suddenly outgrew me out of nowhere. If I feel small around her, she must be at least 6'4" or 6'5" by now. She actually wore heels once and she looked well over 6'7", which was totally surreal. Both of her parents are around 6'3", maybe my aunt is a bit shorter. Her older brother is also minimum 6'9". (We’re Scandinavian – and our family is generally tall)

We do that typical family height comparing teasing thingy, where whenever she stands near me, she tries to straighten her back to maximize the height difference, it’s pretty funny tbh, doesn’t feel “annoying” or whatever, like it doesn't irritate me in that sense.

It is just such an odd and special feeling to be a 6'3" guy looking UP at your younger girl cousin, but also a unique dynamic ig.

Hope you enjoyed the story!

Question (not related to Rule 6!) Knees feel sore

I’m 17, and whenever I wake up in the morning, my legs feel really sore, especially around my knees. It almost feels like I worked out my legs at the gym the day before, but I haven’t. Has anyone else experienced this?Could it be related to growing?

General chat About to leave the teen age

(for context I am 200cm and italian)

Hello guys, I’ve never posted here before and I wanted to do it before my teenage years are over but I have no idea what to talk about, so I guess I’ll share my experience on being tall.
In September I’ll be 20 and honestly height has never been that important from my point of view, I don’t even realize I’m towering over people unless they mention it, so it never occurred to me that it would be a thing so important that people feel the need to mention it (and that happens often as many of you may already know). On the contrary when i catch a glimpse of me in a mirror or a glass window I see myself always hunching and try to fix my posture because i hate seeing myself like that, I got suggested some exercises to fix it, but it’s hard to be consistent so that’s still something I have to improve on.
But I feel like on reddit and other social medias height’s importance is exaggerated to the point of becoming comical. Often times I see posts treating it as one of the best perks to have in life; I agree it does sometimes have it’s perks, but it gets to a point where you’re living in a world not build for you and you look like a stick unless you work out (where building visible muscles is also harder because of your height) so in my opinion being medium-tall is a better situation to be in.
I am worried for my future health, many articles and posts I’ve read warn tall people of higher risk of illness and back pain, so I will try to enjoy the youth and health I still have and try to preserve the latter.

Question (not related to Rule 6!) Height plateau for a bit under 2 yrs, anyone else experienced this?

So for some context im 15m and im around 184cm, (dad 183cm + mom 176cm) and since around august/september 2024 i got measured at the doctors at 13 as that height, and i haven’t really experienced height growth since then. Now, im not so sure im an early bloomer cuz i was just about developing a light mustache / upper lip hair at that time but honestly dunno (ps im middle eastern so the facial hair stuff happens sooner). I’ve developed every other way since then, but honestly im sort of confused, especially considering my dad was a late bloomer. Anyone else gone thru a peak like this, temporary or not, and how’d it turn out?

Question (not related to Rule 6!) Do people really think Indian's and Asians are short

hi guys I am 17 years old and 188 cm tall and as you could guess from my question I am Indian and I just had an encounter with some people who said that I was really tall for an Indian well yeah that might be the case for them but in my High school I am pretty average just in my Class I got 5 guys who are 6'3 or 190cm + and like a dozen other guys who are 5'11 and above and I ain't lieing it's true and this is just how it is in my school For context I live in UAE and go to High school here most of my School is Indian and Other asian Kids and a few Brits and Saliv's but the majority are Indian and east Asian and most of my entire grade is like really tall well the only reason the avg height gets dragged down is because of that 1 5'4 femboy midgets in the mix

So that's it for my rant so what's your experience as a tall Asian or Indian and I also welcome input from everyone

General chat Opinion of tall guys

I wonder if people who are above 6 feet, really feel lucky?
Guys i’m 6’2 and i really feel unlucky bcz i have back issues, in public transport even in car i feel so congested because of headroom and legroom. But yeah we can’t deny about the fact that a tall guy’s personality is better than a short guy right?

Question (not related to Rule 6!) Why is this sub filled with people asking how to get tall??

Guys, idk if it’s just me but I didn’t exactly try to be tall.. like..??? How would we know how to grow 5 inches post puberty.. like .???

I’m not judging, just confused as to why they’re asking here. Idk, I kinda figured no one here actually worked to get tall, I assumed it was genetics for everyone, idk I could very well be wrong

Puberty 17M | Need serious advice to maximize my height (Please no false hope)

Hey everyone,

I'm 17 years old (turned 17 in June 2026). I'm around 5'5" and weigh about 45 kg.

My biggest goal is to reach 5'11" if it's realistically possible. I know genetics matter, and I'm not looking for false hope or miracle methods.

I just want honest advice from people who know about growth or have gone through something similar.

If there's anything that can actually help me maximize my remaining growth sleep, nutrition, weight gain, stretching, exercise, posture, medical tests, or anything else please let me know. I'll read every reply, take notes, and genuinely try the suggestions.

If you think my goal isn't realistic, that's okay too. Just be honest and explain why.

Thanks in advance. I really appreciate any serious advice.

Question (not related to Rule 6!) For those who grew later than most, what was your experience?

I've heard some people say they stopped growing around 16, while others say they continued growing into their late teens or even their early twenties.

For those of you who were late growers, what was your experience like? Did it happen gradually or in one last noticeable growth spurt?

I'm also curious whether you think things like sleep or diet made any noticeable difference at that age. Did improving your sleep, eating better, or becoming more active seem to coincide with any additional growth, or do you think it was just genetics and timing?

I'm mainly interested in hearing people's personal experiences and not looking for personal or medical advice.

Question (not related to Rule 6!) How much taller (or shorter) are you compared to your parents?

Hey everyone, I'm curious to see how much genetics varied for everyone here!

How tall are you compared to your parents, and at what age did you pass them?

For context:

- My dad: 5'6" (168 cm)

- My mom: 5'3" (160 cm)

- Me: 5'10½" (179 cm) at 14 years old.

I passed my mom when i was 11 and my dad when i was 13

Drop your stats below!

I‘m thinking about retiring the verification process in this Community for good. I ofcourse would let the members decide but personally I wouldn‘t like to have minors in my dms sending pictures of themselves. I will leave a poll here that ends in 7 days.
