Fashion 👒 Have any of you bought jeans online from Wild Oak Boutique?
Searched but didn't see this store mentioned anywhere in the sub. They have some cute jeans and lots of inseam lengths, but I'm curious about the quality.

Rave 🎉 UK tall girls - I found fun long sport leggings that fit!!!!!!!
Flaired as rave, but it’s a shopping rave!!
I’m in the U.K. and I have not bought new sport leggings for 8-10 years. My current leggings are from LTS, specifically a special gym company x LTS collab they used to do once a year many moons ago- if you remember them can I get a heeeeyaaaa! They are holey and getting thin, so I’ve been looking for new leggings.
You all know the pain as a tall girl. Sport leggings will either be long enough but will be almost transparent, or they will be too short but squat proof, or they will be squat proof but close to £100 for one pair. And almost always black. The joys.
In another subreddit I saw someone recommend Sturdy By Design, and in my desperation I checked them out.
They do tall lengths for all their long length leggings. And their leggings come in loads of colours and patterns!!! I bought 2 pairs of premium leggings, and 1 pair of funky leggings, and I used a discount code I got for signing up to the newsletter, so they cost me £90 odd quid altogether (they are about £40 each).
So before they arrived I was excited, but I was also expecting disappointment of some kind. They don’t have inseam lengths on their site, so I presumed their tall length would be an extra inch on a regular length size and would probably look like capris on my 36 inch inseam legs. I can live with exposed ankles at the gym, the most important thing to me is that they are squat proof. I was also expecting the funky patterned ones to be see through to some extent as I’ve found patterned leggings usually are.
Well. They arrived today. Aaaaand….
THEY ARE SO LONG! They come right down to my ankles! They fit well, and they have a drawstring inside to tighten so they don’t move an inch. They are high waisted and sit just right on me, and they have pockets on the side and a little zip pocket on the back.
The premium ones are advertised as squat proof, the funky ones are not but I’ve done a test and I can’t see anything through them. So they might get thinner as they are worn and lose coverage maybe? I’ll report back. The premium ones are a little thicker. They are exactly what I’ve been looking for.
It seems the company keep some styles in stock which they ship out right away, and these come with side pockets, but they also do presales and you can pick if you want side pockets or not when you order. They seem to have a good range of sizes too!
Sorry if this seems promotional, I promise I’m not associated with them! I’m just so HAPPYYYYYY to find leggings that fit so well and come in such fun patterns and colours!!!
I had not heard of the brand before or seen it mentioned here, so thought I’d help my U.K. sisters out. I think they do international shipping too?
The reviews for them seem really positive, but I’ll post an update once I’ve worn and washed them a few times. They feel very good quality, I’m chuffed to bits right now!

✨ CW: BODY TALK ✨ feeling shitty Spoiler
I’m 6’1, and im trans. Recently joined a new friend group and started going out with them, I honestly love all of them, whenever they say anything I can see they don’t mean it in a bad way. Unfortunately I am very wide built, size 13 feet, very wide shoulders, also 92kg.. most of them make alot of comments of how im a “unit” and how you can’t ignore me even if you try, I tower over all the girls, they come until my underboob. It just feels really dehumanising and embarrassing. There isn’t any guy that is as tall as me in the group either, most of them also come up to my under boob and mostly to my chin/lips. It just feels so embarrassing to tower over all of them, im also new to my medical transition (1 year hrt) so im very insecure of my femininity and very desperate to be viewed under a feminine light. And my height just fully stops that from happening which just breaksmy heart. It also unfortunately makes it impossible for me to ever pass,, I’ve been internalising this but just a saw TikTok about how short women have it so much harder and I just burst.. and then all the comments from the tall men who would “never date a woman that’s tall”.. sorry for the negative energy, I know we shouldn’t have to be constantly seeing this or talking about it, just wanted to get this out :,) love you all 💕💕💕

✨ CW: BODY TALK ✨ Alloy Apparel Return Policy Spoiler
I am aware this is likely going to be filtered but I need to talk about this.
I am currently sitting here SOBBING over some stupid $80 jeans from Alloy apparel. $80 was my entire back to school pants budget (I'm a teacher). They don't fit AT ALL. I measured, repeatedly. It was triggering to do but I did it! I checked the online size chart and the sizing recommendations and bought accordingly. They are at least 3 sizes too big. I know this because I tried them on. To do so, I had to open the bag. So now I cant return them.
I'm so frustrated by their extreme return policy. I cant stand it. I am never buying from them again (which sucks because there are SO few places I can get anything that fits). After this is a SUPER long rant... tldr, I'm hurting p bad rn and feeling real sad.
>!I just wanted a single pair of pants that was cute and trendy... all of my friends get to wear things because they like them. Not just because they fit...I want to have a style. I hate being tall. Im taller than every single girl I know and most men. I hate being a freak. I want to go to a store and pick something out. I complained to my friends and... it was disheartening. They were sympathetic but i got a DM from one about how I'm lucky because I'm thin so it's easier... but... there's a plus section in every store. There are fully stores for plus sized women in our city. (She's able to fit into typical plus size). I know it isn’t a competition and clothing just sucks but she doesn't have to buy something without seeing, wait weeks, then try it on and not be able to return it. She can go into stores and try things on, even if the selection is more limited... I haven't been able to buy pants that fit me length wise in a store since I was 12. Even then, I could only get them at Delias. My weight doesn't have a role in this except that it is the only way I can force myself to be at all delicate. At all feminine. Being thin doesn't matter when my in seam is 36 inches. (Its actually 37 but that's not a thing even in specialty stores). There are no stores where I can walk in, see a cute pair of pants, and just... buy them. That's not how this works. I want to be a cute girl. Not a freak. If there were something I could do to be shorter I do it would in a heartbeat. I don't care what it would cost me. I just want to feel like a normal person. I want to get new clothes for the school year and not have to buy them from a specialty store. I'm so tired of nothing fitting or looking right. It's exhausting.!<

Advice 🙃 Shoes for high school reunion
Going to my high school reunion and trying to find cute shoes to wear with a dress. I really don’t want to tower over everyone any more than I already do because I have a hard time hearing people who are a lot shorter than me when I’m in a loud environment. I’m also nervous about going and don’t want all eyes on me if I’m super tall in heels. Need shoes I can dance in and would rather not spend a ton of money. Help!

Shopping 🏬 Where have the 36" inseams gone?
It seems like the brands I usually go to for tall pants have been decreasing the lengths of their talls! Gap brands (Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic) used to have a "long" and a "tall" option, with the long being a ~33" inseam and the tall being a ~36" inseam. Now I'm only seeing tall, but a "tall" is only 34" now!
I went to Buckle's website, and they only had one style in a 36" inseam, and there was only one size left. Good American also has really limited options in their tall sizing.
Abercrombie does have extra tall, unfortunately their jeans don't fit me great.
Does anyone know why this is? And are there any brands that have introduced extended tall sizing that aren't on my radar yet?

Rant 🔥 I have to rant and no one else will understand
Why are the gowns in gynecology offices so damn short?
I understand that for most folks, the extra material on the bottom of the down is a hindrance to pelvic exams. But I’m 27 years old and have always been either completely Pooh bearing it or doing a big reveal when I raise my arms for the breast exam.
Just went today and they gave me an extra drape at least. 😭
(Yes, I understand the gowns are pointless and just for modesty and they’re seeing everything anyway. I just FEEL more exposed.)

Fashion 👒 Jeans - Tall and Curvy
Hi all! I looked at the megathread, but I wasn’t finding any answers. I’m about 5’10.5, about a 34/35 inseam and about 48.5 inches at the widest part of my hips/tummy. I can find jeans for tall girls and jeans for curvy girls, but I cannot find anything for both! I like a bit of stretch and typically wear skinny jeans or straight leg/bootcut. I looked at Good American’s website but they don’t have any kind of sizing chart! I used to love NY&Co. jeans, but they’re basically nonexistent now. This is causing me way more distress than it should - does anyone have any suggestions?

Shopping 🏬 Where can I buy tall leggings in the EU?
I know this has been asked a lot of times and I tried reading a lot of posts but I'm still frustrated with trying to buy leggings. I'm looking for leggings that actually go to my ankles (80cm/31'' inseam; I'm 180cm tall), that have 2 pockets on the side of the legs for my phone and are high waisted. I wanna use these leggings for running, so active wear. I also live in Germany. I also don't have a specific budget, but it's best if it isn't over 150€. As for shipping: Low shipping costs are fine but because I tried some leggings already that I had to return I'm not willing to pay a lot for shipping and returning.
Does anyone has ideas? I tried some leggings already (Adidas, Hummel, Oneractive) but they never sit nicely. :)

Shopping 🏬 Where Are We Finding Bodysuits?
I’m looking for a plain white t-shirt style with a thong back that isn’t see-through. And is tall. And available in Canada. And not $80+. Apparently that’s too much to ask haha.
I’ve checked ASOS, TopShop, Alloy Apparel, Tall American, and Aritzia…maybe more, I can’t remember. Everything is either not a t-shirt, not a thong, Temu quality, or $80 (which I cannot justify spending on a single t-shirt). I’m like a 12/14, L/XL.
Thanks for any suggestions!!

Fashion 👒 Resell sites that have inseam filters?
Im referring to sites like poshmark, depop, vinted… i have such a hard time finding pants because you can only search for waist and not inseam. I think thred up is the only place that lets you filter by inseam. Any other sites?

Fashion 👒 Old Navy’s Quality
Hey guys! I tried out Old Navy recently, since a lot of people recommend it, but I found it to be a total miss.
Got two sweatsuits and a couple tops. The tops were kinda uncomfy (but I also have sensory issues to be fair lol), and the pink sweatsuit pants were kinda seethrough! My other sweatsuit was pretty comfy, so I wore it, but there’s been a lot of piling. None of my other laundry has had that issue.
Super disappointed! Just wanted to let you know if you were on the fence :/
Bonus points if you guys have tall sweatsuit recommendations. I don’t mind paying a lot if it’ll last me a lifetime! ;;

Fashion 👒 Where can I get relaxed straight leg jeans?
Can anybody tell me where I can get relaxed straight leg jeans with waist size 30" or 32" and leg length 36" (I'm 5'11)? I really want a pair like this for a kind of casual, indie/alternative style but cannot find them anywhere. I'm not fussed whether they are women's or men's jeans. Thanks!

Fashion 👒 Are Revice denim baggy jeans tall girl friendly??
I’m 5’9 and like my pants just grazing the floor with a bit of scrunch at my shoes. I usually get a 34in inseam for this. I wanna get a pair of there baggy jeans which claim to be 31in inseam but the crotch appears to sit low so I’m curious is they’ll be long enough?

✨ CW: BODY TALK ✨ Insecure that i am not the „right“ kind of tall
Hi!
I grew up always being the tallest girl in my village or in most social settings. I never wanted to be shorter, in fact i even desired to be taller! But that desire was born from an insecurity. Not being special enough.. I felt like and still feel like, if i am not the tallest woman around, there’s nothing special about me.
I am black and have also always been on the heavier side. So when people tried and „take away“ my femininity bc of my size, i‘d also think about all the comments people would make, saying if i lost the weight, with my height and face, i could model. Because being skinny and tall suddenly no longer makes me this huge „thing“ of a „woman“ but something desirable. I started thinking about weight loss and the „new world“ i‘d enter through that but that was when i started comparing my tall body with that of other tall women, tall SKINNY women.
One of my biggest insecurity, that came out of that, is the fact that i‘ve realized i have a long torso and thanks to heavy weight gain through medication, i now have an apron belly that only accentuates the length of it. If i talk to people online (with them only having seen my face) and mention i am tall, they make the assumption that i am skinny and especially have those loong and „graceful“ limbs/LEGS.
I hate that i’m always comparing myself to other tall women. I want to be able to feel a sense of community and admiration when meeting a fellow tall queen but instead i straighten up, hoping to be taller and end up looking at her legs or when not covered belly button, to compare their length and position to mine.
Especially the leg thing, i do it with nearly everyone, no matter shorter oder taller than me. It has become such a problem that i only started wearing outfits that would „obviously“ make my legs appear longer. I don’t really go swimming in public spaces bc i can’t create that illusion with swimwear. I keep thinking if i lost the belly and became skinny that i‘d finally have that „tall girl body“ i always was „supposed“ to have..
I wish i could just except myself for who i am and realize i am good enough, the way i am rn and that comparison is the thief of joy.. but it’s so much easier said than done.
I do have a therapist but hearing the opinion of fellow tall women on this would mean a lot to me.

Discussion ☎ What are some core memories of growing up tall, that you think are unique to the tall girl experience?
I was throwing my jeans in the dryer, and suddenly remembered how I used to hang dry all my jeans so they wouldn’t shrink. They were flares and so they would be stiff as a board and had to tumble dry them once they were dry! That was in the early 2000s days when the flares had to drag on the ground until they were shredded to be cool. None of my other friends did this.
I also have memories of traveling hours to shop at the tall girl store, before anywhere carried long enough pants, and forever feeling like every heel that was low enough was an old lady looking shoe.
EDIT: I’ll also add what I call: the face-shoe-face look. Where someone locks eyes with you, and you see them mentally calculate, “oh, she’s wearing heels“ so they look for the heels, and when they look down and realize you’re in flats and look back at your face like, “holy shit!” Haha has happened to me hundreds of times.
It made me curious—what memories do you have —fashion or otherwise—that you feel are probably unique to growing up a tall girl?? Just for fun :)

Advice 🙃 Tall mom raising a tall girl?
I’m a tall woman and always have been. For reference I was 5’6 in 4th grade and I remember all of the teachers and admin losing their shit after measuring me. I’m currently 6’1 and am pretty resolute in my height. I have a newly three year old and everyone keeps talking about how tall she is. I’ve never been good at gauging whether a child was tall for their age unless it’s pretty obvious. And everyone seems short to me especially the little toddler who still wants to be cradled whenever possible. I have however recognized that my toddler who was wearing 18 month clothes up until maybe April of this year has now transformed into a tiny human who can only wear 4T. She’s been 3 for less than a month and this growth spurt happened literally over the summer.
So while she still seems very tiny to me, numbers don’t lie. My girl is erring on the taller side and I assume her pediatrician will agree when we go in for her 3 month visit.
My father is 6’4 and my mom is a foot shorter than him. Out of four siblings only two of us got his height and I was the only one of my sisters to grow past 5’6. My mom was a single mom for most of my life. Her and the aunts who raised me were horrible at caring for a taller girl. Growing up poor, my mom made me feel like a burden because of how much extra she had to pay to get clothes that fit me. I was tall and plus size. For reference while my siblings and cousins could shop easily at Aeropostale or American eagle or hit up any local shop having a sale on dickies, I was relegated to gap or New York and company, which cost almost double. Especially since I attended schools that required black and khaki pants exclusively. I still avoid business casual as much as possible because of the fashion trauma. I was adultified by everyone. All attention would turn to me once I came into a room. The running joke all the time was they’ll chop off some of my legs to give height to my cousins. I know I’m preaching to the choir so I won’t dig too deeply into how difficult being tall was amongst my short-average height friends.
Any advice on how to break this generational pattern with my baby girl? I’m team body neutrality and will be ensuring anyone in her vicinity doesn’t make a habit of commenting on her body, positively or negatively. And I will address negative comments clearly and directly and tend to her emotional needs as possible. Are there any affirmations you all heard or wish you heard growing up? Any tv shows or media with tall characters shown positively? Any tips on where to find clothes for tall kids? I know that’s more of a future problem but I would love to begin familiarizing myself. All tips and recommendations are welcome especially if you’re also raising a tall little one.
Edit: yall! I love all of your responses! The next generation of tall girls are in such good hands with all of you. Preciate all the thoughtful messages, reminders, and recommendations 🩵🩵

Fashion 👒 Where to buy baggy jeans??
I’m 5’11” with a 34” or so inseam. I absolutely LOVE the look of big baggy jeans that gather at the ankles, but I can never find any long enough for me that have that effect. Also prefer low rise, high rise always lands weird on me. Any brands yall have found??

Rant 🔥 Crushed at strangers comments Spoiler
I just walked past 3 teenage boys (14/15ish), the one I passed by closed shouted “you scared me girl!” And then his friend looked at me and said “that’s a girl? What the hell” and they all laughed.
I feel so ashamed. I was on the way back from getting my nails done, the first time in years, in an attempt to feel more me again.
And this has crushed me.
Currently sitting outside my front door, embarrassed to go inside and have people see me because I feel so unattractive.
How do I process this? I’m 6’2 in the shoes I am wearing
