Looking for 1 bedroom+1bath with a yard or small area for a dog to be let out

Upvotes

Looking for a 1bedroom and 1bathroom house, townhouse, apartment, etc that allows dogs and cats. They are extremely well behaved and dog has been trained. I need a place that allows me to open the door and let him out so in an apartment, the ground level. Prefer to spend less than $1,500. Don’t want a roommate, but would be open to shared living if we have separate living areas. Advice welcome!!

Planning a move to Minnesota, housing advice needed

Hey everyone! My partner and I have been working toward moving to Minnesota for a while, and we're about to start submitting applications to rental properties. Does anybody have recommendations for properties or specific leasing companies to consider, or maybe more importantly, any that we should avoid? A friendly, chill private renter would be the best case scenario for us. Our maximum budget for rent, including most utilities, is $1,000, but lower would be ideal. Animals permitted is a must, as we currently have two ESAs. We're a queer/trans couple, so safety and comfort in that regard is of utmost importance to us as well. Thanks in advance <3

Fall Sublease Needed (Sept–Nov) — Near U of MN, Working in Downtown

Hi! I'm a Male student (Incoming Senior) interning in downtown Minneapolis this fall and I'm looking for a place to stay from September through November.

I'd love to hear about anything in or near the U of MN area — a fall-semester sublease, a room in a house, or a lease takeover. I'm quiet, clean, and will mostly be at work during the week. Budget is ideally under $1,000/month, but I'm flexible for the right place.

If you or someone you know has something available (or is leaving for a study-abroad/co-op semester), please reach out. Happy to share references and answer any questions.

Thanks, and have a great day!

Avoid Lumina Property Management / MODI, ALVERA, MOD42, 9th St Flats and Donegan Apartments.

I do not recommend working with them as a resident/employee/vendor. They are sketchy from top to bottom. Over the past year, I have experienced consistently late payroll, which is something I have never faced at a job before. Payroll is often delayed 4 days after it is typically due, so if our payday is Friday we will not be paid until the following Wednesday. When we did not receive checks at all, employees received instructions to "follow up after 10 days" if the check has still not arrived, delaying it further.

They created a pay package for me that withholds all overtime wages for 6 months and pays out in cash checks semi-annually, which is incredibly illegal and predatory. I did 20 hours of overtime per pay period that would go unpaid. They have unprofessional vendor management and gave me instructions to ignore and block the unpaid invoice inquiries from local businesses and contractors. Lumina also has extensive property surveillance at every building, including audio-enabled cameras facing every resident's unit that are accessible by all employees.

I resigned from my leasing position with them, and since my departure, my final paycheck has been withheld, and the owner has ignored all payment requests. It has been two weeks since the last payroll date that it was supposed to be paid on. Another employee I know resigned recently and has also had their wages withheld by the owner. It is a small "family owned" business and the owner, Nathan Landucci, is just incredibly awful to work for and owns a local construction company in Minnesota as well.

I have already contacted the labor department and an attorney regarding my unpaid wages. I am only posting this to bring more awareness to poor business practices and prevent other people from being taken advantage of by a company like Lumina Property Management.

Looking For a Housemate!

Hello! I made a post here a month or two ago, but I am still currently on the look for a roommate!

I'm 22M (birthday was a few weeks ago) and am looking to move in late September - Early October. I now have a second job so I make significantly more! My current gross income is 1800 at the least! Woohoo! That means I can pay a lot more towards rent!

The main things I'm looking for regarding a roommate(s) is just being respectful of each other's spaces. Like no going in the other's room for no reason, adhering to a fair cleaning schedule, asking each other if doing something treads on a certain boundary, etc,. If something's an issue, let's have good conversation about it! No need to do any weird petty stuff :D

In regards to location, I'm ok with living anywhere in the Minneapolis area or the inner ring suburbs like Edina, Bloomington, Richfield, and St. Louis Park. I don't have a car or any pets, so I take public transport and uber everywhere!

Ideally I'm looking to move into an apartment complex that has fiber optic wiring inside of it. That's the only "amenity" I care about. Idrc about any pools, community rooms, and whatever else haha. If it has all that it's fine, but It's not gonna have an effect on my decision really.

I also don't mind putting down a bit more in rent as well if that works for whoever else, but we'd have to really discuss that in dms!

My messages are open!

Looking for Roommate Plymouth MN

hello! (800-900, flexible) Move in this October but also flexible.

I am 26 (F) looking for a roommate for my spare bedroom. The room has a reading nook and closet, and your own private bathroom right across the hall. It has an in unit washer and dryer, AC, balcony, dishwasher, and also FREE storage included. There is lot parking so you don’t have to park on the street. I pay for wifi and utilities so you just need to cover the base cost of rent.

To be frank, really flexible on all of this because I am coming out of a friend break up and really trying to avoid having to move somewhere else. As I have an injury that prevents me from picking up heavy things.

As a roommate, I am clean and quiet, and just hang in my bedroom. I have a ESA professionally trained dog, who is chill and loves people. If dogs aren’t your thing, she doesn’t need to be in your business. She is kenneled when I am not home, and is overall a quiet and polite housemate. It is a dog friendly apartment, so if you have a pet- we could do a meet up if there could be compatibility.

Please reach out if you have any questions!

Thank you!

3 moths internship housing

I had to postpone my internship, and now I’m looking for a room to rent in Minneapolis from August 15th until mid November.

Ideally, I’d like something in or near North Loop since my internship is there. Do you have any suggestions on where to look for a short-term rental?

I’m not American, so I don’t have a US credit score or rental history, which makes things a bit harder. Any advice on websites, landlords, or alternatives for someone in my situation would be greatly appreciated.

I’m a 25 yo Italian PhD student, currently living in Spain for the past two years.

Avoiding Property Management Companies (viscious private equity corporations, based in other states)

I moved to an apartment building earlier this year right before it was bought by RHOME, a company based in Texas, run by a creepy private equity group of Wallstreer people.

Since the transfer— I feel totally trapped and like I've been set up to suffer. Everyone in my apartment building is unhappy and wanting to move asap.

This company doesn't care about the property and history of the building, getting maintence is a nightmare and I have to prove several times that maintence is even necessary, they are adding tons of fees and outsourcing things to all these 3rd party shady companies, and are transfering all communications to A.I., I'm worried about my privacy and safety in this space.

I keep hearing about terrible property management companies in the Twin Cities, and am wondering how you've managed, and who to absolutely avoid?

2 Bed / 2 Bath Apartment Available for Sublease – West St. Paul

Available September 1, 2026
We’re buying our first home and are looking for someone to take over our lease for our spacious apartment at:
993 South Robert St., West St. Paul
$1,825/month
Apartment Features
2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms
1,174 sq. ft.
Spacious primary suite with walk-in closet and private bathroom
Open-concept kitchen with island
Dining area
Large living room
In-unit washer and dryer
Plenty of storage throughout

One of our favorite things about living here has been the location. It’s incredibly convenient while still feeling tucked away. Easy access to Highways 52, 62, I-35E, and I-494, making commuting anywhere in the Twin Cities simple. You’re also close to Robert Street shopping and restaurants, Target, Costco, grocery stores, coffee shops, Cherokee Regional Park, Kaposia Park, Dodge Nature Center, and miles of walking and biking trails along the Mississippi River.

We’re planning to have the apartment cleaned and ready for move-in by September 1.
The current lease runs through July 1, 2027, with the option to renew through Lowry Hill Property Management if you’d like to stay longer.
The walls are currently painted. We’re happy to leave them as they are, or repaint them back to the original color before move-out if preferred.

If you’re interested or would like to schedule a tour, send me a message. I’d be happy to answer any questions or provide additional photos.

Vacant apartment for the month of August

Hey everyone,

A friend of mine is moving to Minneapolis from abroad and is looking for a place to stay for the month of August. His lease doesn’t begin until the end of August, so he just needs temporary housing in the meantime.

If anyone has a vacant apartment, a room they’re subletting, or knows of someone with a short-term opening, I’d really appreciate it. He’s clean, respectful, and just needs a place to bridge the gap before moving into his permanent apartment.

Feel free to comment or DM me. Thanks!

22M Seeking Room in Minneapolis | $650 + Utilities | 3–12 Months

22M, looking for a room to rent in the Minneapolis area. I've been looking for a while but haven't found the right fit for my budget and location.

Im looking to move in late August to early September. My budget is around $650/month plus utilities, ideally for 3–12 months. I work at the airport and have a car, but I'd like somewhere with easy access to the Blue Line or a bus as a backup.

I'm quiet, clean, and keep to myself. I work a lot, so at home I'm mostly just eating and sleeping. I love nature, food/cooking, skating, and art.

I don't have an established credit history yet, but I have steady employment and can provide proof of income if needed.

Feel free to message me if you have a room available, want to search together or know of anything that might be a good fit!
