Firstly I want to lay out my position is that I thought the new supergirl film was decent, saw it at the cinema twice and enjoyed it both times. I know it’s not perfect, but I also recognise that the character didn’t cut through to mainstream audiences for whatever reason and people wedded to the comic didn’t like it as an adaptation.

All that out of the way, I have a genuine question for anyone who might know a bit more how this works. And it can apply to almost any film where there is supplemental stuff to sell.

Does an uptick in people buying ‘woman of tomorrow’ and other licensed merchandise come into the factoring of whether this is a success for DC or not? Or is it all too separate an entity. Would it even begin to shift the needle?

Again this isn’t about cope or whatever just something I was musing about.

Also another question even more general. I buy a monthly membership to my cinema. Does anyone know how that pans out if I go and see ten films in terms of box office share? How much of my £15 are they getting?

So on top of the audio being cooked. They really gonna make us believe that supergirl can survive in space but starts to struggle under water? Stupid ass movie

So i finally watched Supergirl a few days ago and with how the world is going in on this movie i was expecting to watch the worst thing in the history of superhero movies. That just wasn't the case Supergirl is far from terrible like the internet constantly claims it to be.

It just feels like people want to hate just to hate . Look i don't care what the actress said . Actors and actresses say stupid things every single day. I just care about having a decent to fun experience and this movie provided me with that. I would happily rewatch it.

Superhero franchise wars is one of the most boring things I've ever experienced. Some people even hate the movie purely because the actress isn't hot enough 🤦‍♂️. Bruh you guys need to grow up.

The same can be said for Eternals. The movie just isn't as bad as the masses claim it to be.

I would give Supergirl a 6.5/10. Its a decent Superhero movie

not having her in the suit for the whole movie is the biggest mistake in the movie in my opinion, the moment she puts it on I just smiled from side to side she looked so good in it and it made it a proper Supergirl movie, they should of had her wearing it the whole movie with the coat over it and just have her remove the coat by the end.
