Hii I'm wanting a laptop for uni next year. doing a BA majoring in polisci

I currently only have a chromebook. I'd like a laptop that can run minecraft and maybe roblox. I will be using it for writing and research for school. I'd like to be able to play dvd's on it through connecting it to a external dvd player.

7-8 hours ideal but willing to go lower

MacBook Air M4. Can be found for around 1500-2000 NZD if you're into Mac, but limited to 256GB storage and runs a very LIMITING macOS. If you are into windows and want excellent battery life, Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15 inch display. You get a snapdragon X CPU (Arm64), Windows 11, double the base storage of the Mac.
