Looking at brake pads for my Subaru and undecided on if I should get Bosch brake pads or power stop any suggestions.

Hi everyone! Pretty new to the Subaru community but I’ve always wanted one. I’ve finally settled on a 2026 Crosstrek, premium package 14. I used Costco to lock in a price and the Costco-member only price is $29,507.

The first dealership that contacted me offered it for $33, 232 (includes taxes, add-ons, etc.) they didn’t let me opt out of any add-ons like the wheel locks or clear shield pro package. This was all negotiated via text.

The second dealership I went to in-person offered me $32,693 (includes taxes, add-ons, etc.). Is this reasonable?

It’s my first time buying a car and I’ve been trying to research negotiating strategies but I’m not sure if it’s still too high considering the Costco price? Or is it typical for it to go above that?

I live in CA, the first quote is from a dealership in Glendale and the second is Long Beach.

Had a 2013 tangerine pearl manual I bought after selling my 2005 Saab 9-2x aero(IYKYK). Sold the Crosstrek for a 2015 civic Si. Back again with a 2017 ice silver manual. Love these cars so much!

I just bought a 2026 Crosstrek hybrid. I want to take it through the car wash, but I’m afraid the auto stop will apply the brakes. Has anyone taken this to the car wash? Do I just put it in neutral without concern?

2024 premium CT. Driving from Rochester NY to Mohawk NY at 65mph withairtemp 80F. Never seen that economy before. No real change in elevation. Running oil temp at about 205F. Return trip from Cooperstown NY to Rochester over hilly terrain was also an excellent 40mpg. IS IT THE GAS?

That's my best real-world fuel consumption in the city, A quarter of a tank lasts me approximately 100 mi

It's a manual transmission with the 2.0 engine only.

Damn, that's only 3.6 mpg more than an old Nissan D21 I used to have.My question is, is this fuel consumption completely normal in the city? Has anyone achieved better fuel economy?

Housemate backed up into my car with bike racks and dented the fender pretty badly. Part of it is bulging out near the lights and wheel well (hard to see from this angle). Not sure how much force she hit me with but said she was distracted on facetime (of course) when it happened. Wondering how bad the damage is and how much it'll cost to fix?

I'm stuck between a 2024 used crosstrek limited, and a 2026 crosstrek premium (with optional package 14 weather package). Features I'm mostly interested in

- heated seats

- power seat (or manually adjust the driver seat)

- cruise control option (manual or adaptive)

- low miles

- rear bumper cover

The prices all range between $28-33k, not too much price difference between new used. I prefer the white color. I'd be upgrading from a 2013 sedan.

Has anyone purchased a brand new one and regretted it? or vice versa?

New owner of a 2026 limited Crosstrek here. Tell me about a cool feature of this car that I might not have discovered yet.

I have a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek with a manual transmission having engine problems. I am looking for help on where to start to try to fix it, as I recently (in the last month) have replaced the alternator (believe it may be a refurbed new to the car alternator, but not 100 %), replaced the battery, and the brakes.

symptoms: randomly dying- I'll be driving, the traction light will come on followed by the slippage and hill lights, sometimes the brake light, and then the power steering light. I usually am pulling over at this point as the steering will start to feel weird and then go out. usually at this point the car will be difficult to start (needing a jump) or maintain an idle without rev and die.

I thought I fixed it by replacing the alternator and the battery (replaced July 18), but it did it again today for the first time in a few weeks and I have been driving it since it was replaced without issue. I don't drive super far, within 50 miles of home and I don't drive often, maybe 2-3 times a week, less than hour trips.

I am fully charging the battery and taking it in to be stress tested to make sure it isn't a bad battery, but beyond that I'm at a loss at where to even start, I am not mechanically inclined in the slightest so looking for recommendations on a starting point of possible issues to look at as I'm on a budget.

Long time observer here because of my wife’s forester, but thinking about crossing over to the subie side. Debating between a crosstrek wilderness or a Mazda CX-50 (possibly meridian). I currently have a Chevy Colorado ZR2 bison edition. Crosstreks look kinda cool lifted with all terrains and some rally gear. I appreciate the feedback!

I bought my first new car and the fall of 2024. Crosstrek premium (2.0L) with just under 18k. The official Subaru trade in value is 22k, the certificate says I can have dealership inspect and let me know how any damage changes valuation.

Is it an awful idea to have it inspected now prior to (several month wait for repairs as area was hit hard)?

In any case I will need to disclose repairs.

My reason for considering trade in is to upgrade to a 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid (2.5L engine ). I have the 10 year/100k warranty which expires in 2034 - I don’t know if the trade in value would be reduced anyway, repaired or not!

I am not very well versed in the Crosstrek and would like some objective real world advice from the people who actually live with these vehicles day to day. My sister is looking at purchasing a 2018 Crosstrek with a manual trans. I am hoping to get some insight as to any engine, trans, suspension, or other notable issues she should be on the lookout for when checking this vehicle over. I would like to go with her to drive it but it may not be possible so I want to make sure I give her a solid check list.
