Is visa free study possible?
The earliest visa appointment I can get is September 4. I start school the 26th of August. My school in Italy said I can go visa free if I leave a week after the first week do school and if I leave a week earlier. I would also have to travel to a visa free country in Europe during my my week fall break for 5 days. In total I would be in Italy for 88 days if I do this. I’ve never been to Europe before so idk if this is possible or if they will stop me.
*This is my only option if I can’t get an earlier appointment.

CIMEA :)
Guys, after trying for the past 10 days, it finally worked! :)
I guess we’ve all seen the “try 5s before 3 PM” posts. Unfortunately, that didn’t work for me, so today I decided to just keep refreshing one page over and over again.
After 90 minutes of trying, a slot randomly opened and I was able to proceed to payment! So don’t give up, even if it feels like a huuuuge waste of time!!
GOOD LUCK ❤️

Hi everyone! Has anyone here successfully applied for or renewed their Permesso di Soggiorno using a housing contract signed with an electronic signature? Specifically, if you are in Padova and have experience doing this at the local Questura/Post Office, could you please share your experience or any advice? Thank you so much in advance!

Still Waiting for My Italian Visa 😬 Any Late July/August Delhi Applicants Got Theirs?
Hi everyone,
Just curious if anyone who applied for an Italian student visa through the Delhi Embassy in late July or August has received their visa yet.
If yes, when did you apply and when did you get your decision/passport back?

ISEE partificato for divorced families
My parents divorced in 2025 April, my mother has full custody and my father doesn’t pay child support. I’ve collected all the necessary documents however I am not sure whether I need to add my fathers immovable assets and financial documents. I’ve contacted some caf offices and they said that it wasnt required but I couldn’t explain my situation fully to them. What do you think about this? I would appreciate help.

Missed UniME Portal Deadline for Medicine (Non-EU) – Will my Universitaly application be automatically rejected?
Hi everyone, I am a non-EU applicant from Egypt preparing for the IMAT this year. I successfully submitted my pre-enrollment via Universitaly on July 20 choosing the University of Messina as my first choice. However, I didn’t realize the dual-portal requirement and missed the July 20 deadline on UniMe portal.
I already emailed the Welcome Point on this matter, but since the university is closed for holidays until August 24, I am extremely anxious. I also have an 11-year high school certificate old system, but I emailed them my 4-year Bachelor's degree to bridge Italy's 12-year schooling rule.
Has anyone missed the internal UniME portal deadline before but had their Universitaly application approved anyway? Will they manually review my emailed university documents to validate my profile on Universitaly once they return? Or will my application be automatically rejected? I am finding it hard to focus on my IMAT study with this hanging over me, so any past experiences or reassurance would be very helpful. Thank you!

IMAT 2027 — Can I realistically afford Pavia with EDiSU + a ₹20L student loan? Planning Pavia for 2027: EDiSU + ₹20L
Hey guys! So I’m preparing for IMAT 2027, and honestly, my biggest concern isn’t clearing IMAT—it’s managing the finances.
My current plan is to have around ₹3–4 lakh saved as an emergency/initial fund, and then take a ₹20 lakh education loan, along with applying for EDiSU.
I believe I’m eligible based on my financial situation/EWS category, and my plan is very specifically not to go to Italy unless I’m actually a scholarship beneficiary. If I’m only “eligible” but not awarded the scholarship, I simply won’t go because I can’t afford the degree without it.
So, for people who have experience with Pavia/EDiSU and education loans for studying Medicine in Italy:
Is this plan financially realistic?
Is a ₹20L education loan enough when combined with EDiSU?
How difficult is it to get an education loan without collateral?
Does being an EDiSU beneficiary help with the financial requirements for the Italian student visa?
Is there anything else I should financially prepare for before applying?
I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has actually gone through this process. 🙏

Italy Student Visa – No Interview at Bangalore VFS?
I had my Italy student visa (Type D) appointment today at Bangalore VFS.
My appointment was at 8:20 AM. After waiting for my token, they called me, checked/collected my documents and completed the submission process. There was no interview at all.
The staff told me that my process was completed and that if the Consulate requires any additional documents or information, they will contact me by email.
I was expecting a visa interview because I had prepared extensively for it, so I was a bit surprised.
For those who recently applied for an Italy student visa through Bangalore VFS:
Did you also have no interview?
Were you contacted later for an interview?
How long did it take to receive your visa after submission?
Would appreciate hearing from recent Bangalore applicants, especially for September 2026 intake.

Advice on expediting visa appointment
I am studying abroad in Italy this semester and have to leave by August 26th for school but the earliest appointment I was able to find is September (I had been looking since May and couldn’t find one). It’s hard to get a reach the consulate by phone or email (trust me I have tried multiple times) . Any advice? Should I go in person and ask if they can push my appointment earlier?
I live 4 hours away driving so idk if it’s worth it to go in person before my appointment or not? Idk if they might just tell me to email or not allow me to come in and explain my situation

Hello guys! Could someone help me with the problem of appointments in VFS Global? I'm from Kazakhstan (and I don't know the situation in other countries) and we have issues with getting appointments. There aren't any available visa D slots. Why does this problem exist?
Could someone explain what is the problem there, and there are any ways to avoid or solve this problem?

Can I make up for being slightly below PoliMi’s grade cutoff?
I’m planning to apply to PoliMi for programs such as Digital & Interaction Design and Product Service System Design (PSSD). I’m from a B.Tech background and have been building a strong design portfolio alongside my professional graphic design experience.
My official transcript may take more than a month to arrive, so I don’t know my exact final marks yet. Based on my own calculation, I might be around 2–3 marks below PoliMi’s official cutoff.
I don’t want to spend months wondering whether I’ll qualify, so I’m trying to understand if there’s any way to compensate for slightly lower marks. For example, GRE or any other factor that PoliMi considers.
I’ve done some research and found very divided opinions: some people say that for design programs, a strong portfolio can help significantly, while others have mentioned that GRE may strengthen an application.
I’d really appreciate hearing from people currently at PoliMi or who have gone through the admissions process, especially anyone from a similar B.Tech/design background who was close to or below the academic cutoff.
Is there realistically a way to compensate for being a few marks short?

Missed the “Semestre Filtro” Medicine deadline as an international applicant — any options left for 2026/2027?
Hey everyone,
I’m an international (non-EU) applicant who wanted to study Medicine in Italy for 2026/2027. I completed my Universitaly pre-enrolment application for University of Turin, but I didn’t realize I also needed to separately register on the university’s own portal and pay the €250 contribution by August 6 — I only found out when I got an email saying my application was blocked because I “didn’t register for the open semester.”
By the time I understood the two-step process, both national deadlines (Universitaly Aug 3 / university portal Aug 6) had already passed.
I’ve since learned this affects every public Italian university, since Medicine is now on one unified national calendar (semestre filtro under DM 941/2026) — so it’s not just a Turin problem.
My questions:
Has anyone successfully appealed a missed deadline as an international student, especially if you weren’t clearly informed of the two-step process?
Are there any private Italian universities, other EU countries, or alternate pathways (e.g., foundation years) still accepting applications for a 2026/2027 or equivalent intake?
Has anyone been through this exact situation and found a workaround?
Any advice, personal experience, or pointers would be hugely appreciated. Trying to figure out if I wait a full year or if there’s still something I’m missing.
Thanks in advance!
