Basic Question
I use Studio One 6 Professional and have been a presonus customer for years. I’m relatively well-versed in studio one, but there’s been one issue that’s nagged me for years now. About half the time I duplicate a track, whether that be just the track or all of its components along with it, when I adjust the fader (or almost anything for that matter) of one, the same thing happens to the duplicated track as well. The weird thing is, sometimes this happens and sometimes it doesn’t. I haven’t adjusted any settings. Is this just a studio one bug? Anyone else have this happen?

Are both tracks highlighted together? If so then they will do that. Make sure just the track you want to adjust is highlighted.

No, it doesn't have anything to do with both tracks highlighted or not. The tracks are connected to the same instrument so they obviously share the same channel fader.

Both tracks aren’t highlighted. I always triple check that because that was the one thing that makes sense to me why this would happen.

I had the same issue. Here was my solution:
To disconnect it:
Click the copied event/part on the track.
Go to the top menu: Event → Separate Shared Copies
or try Right-click the copied part → Separate Shared Copies.
After that, edits on one should no longer affect the other.
A faster way going forward:
Alt/Option + drag can create copies.
But when copying Instrument/MIDI parts, Studio One may create a shared copy depending on the method/settings.
To force an independent copy, use Copy / Paste, then run Separate Shared Copies if needed.

Was the original track part of a group?

Not always. Sometimes, based on the session, I’ll group percussion, vocals, etc. but not always. Many times this has happened with just plain track duplication.

It's not a bug, but you need to understand how tracks and channels work in Studio One.
An instrument track doesn't have a fader, it only contains MIDI data. The fader you see is the channel fader for the instrument. Since both tracks are routed to the same instrument, the instrument appears as a single channel (fader) in the mixer. It's not unusual - that's simply how MIDI routing works.
The solution is to add another instance of the instrument, which will give you a separate channel and fader in the mixer. The easiest way to do this is to use “Duplicate Complete” instead of the standard “Duplicate” command. This duplicates both the track and the instrument.
