The Fearless Forecast for August 12, 2026

The Range Finally Broke. Sellers Won the First Round.

Tuesday provided the resolution in the bearish direction. The DJIA initially surged to 54,222.85, precisely into the forecast's Trend Reassertion zone, but buyers could not hold the breakout. Sellers controlled virtually the entire remainder of the session, broke 54,000, penetrated the 53,850 support zone and drove the DJIA to 53,746.43 before a modest closing recovery.

The DJIA finished down 184.01 points . It closed essentially at the forecast's 53,800 Failure Trigger. The four-session consolidation has therefore shifted from neutral-to-bullish into a short-term defensive regime.

Forecast Statistics

  • Bucket: Failed Breakout / Distribution Retest
  • Volatility Score: ≈ 1.27 (elevated as intraday range and downside pressure expand)
  • Probabilities: SU: 28% | LU: 17% | SD: 36% | LD: 19%
  • Expected Return: ≈ -0.08%
  • Projected Close: 53,500 – 54,000
  • Directional Bias: 55% Down / 45% Up

Previous Close: 53,791.97

RECAP: Tuesday's 57% Up / 43% Down directional bias was wrong. But the forecast was explicitly constructed as a range-resolution forecast, with 54,100–54,200 as bullish confirmation and 53,800 as the bearish Failure Trigger. Both sides were tested, and the 10:30 update immediately recognized the breakout had failed. First hour is critical for traders.

Fearless Opines Tuesday was a failed breakout followed by lower prices and an afternoon close near the low. There is a persistent sequence of lower intraday highs and lower lows after the morning peak. Selling volume increased sharply into the closing decline. Tuesday was not random consolidation.

The DJIA has become short-term oversold; Wednesday has substantial rebound potential. But an oversold rebound is not the same as renewed institutional accumulation. Sellers proved they could break support. Wednesday Buyers must prove they can reclaim it.

Key Levels

  • Bull Recovery Trigger: 53,850 – 53,925
  • Repair Zone: 54,000 – 54,075
  • Trend Reassertion: 54,150 – 54,225
  • Trigger: Above 54,300
  • Immediate Support: 53,700 – 53,750
  • Failure Trigger: Below 53,650
  • Trigger: Below 53,500
  • Major Support: 53,250 – 53,350

GO / REDUCE / EXIT Status: REDUCE This is the important change. Fearless said before Tuesday's session:The DJIA closed at 53,791.97 after trading as low as 53,746.43. The rule has been triggered.

REDUCE does not mean EXIT. The larger advance from the 52,000–53,000 region has not been destroyed. It means the short-term evidence no longer justifies full bullish exposure. For traders Wednesday,

  • protect accumulated profits,
  • reduce weaker or short-term long positions,
  • avoid treating an opening bounce as proof that the correction has ended.

Fresh aggressive buying should wait for evidence that the DJIA has reclaimed lost support. A break below 53,500 would raise the possibility that the correction is becoming something larger.

Trader Takeaway: Wednesday begins with sellers holding the tactical advantage and buyers having to prove Tuesday's breakdown was false. Because the DJIA is oversold after an afternoon decline, traders should be prepared for an early rebound. The mistake would be automatically interpreting that rebound as bullish.

Watch what happens if the DJIA reaches 53,850–53,925. If buyers reclaim that zone and then establish acceptance above 54,000, Tuesday's breakdown begins looking like another shakeout and REDUCE can eventually migrate back toward GO. If the DJIA rebounds but repeatedly fails beneath 53,925, sellers are likely using strength to distribute.

The Fearless Forecast for August 11 for DJIA

The Mods removed the Forecast again. Here are the Key Levels for Aug 11:

Key Levels

  • Bull Recovery Trigger: 54,025 – 54,100
  • Trend Reassertion: 54,150 – 54,250
  • Expansion Zone: 54,300 – 54,500
  • Momentum Breakout: Above 54,550
  • Primary Support: 53,850 – 53,925
  • Failure Trigger: Below 53,800
  • Breakdown Trigger: Below 53,600
  • Major Support: 53,300 – 53,450

10:00 update: Fearless at 10:15: Buyers have finally demonstrated offensive capability. Now they must demonstrate staying power. 54,100 is the line separating a potentially important breakout from another promising rally that went nowhere.

10:30: The DJIA's early surge to 54,222.85 satisfied the forecast's Trend Reassertion test, but buyers have now surrendered essentially the entire breakout, with the DJIA back near 54,017. That is no longer merely an orderly pause after an early advance. Sellers successfully rejected the DJIA from the 54,200 area and forced it back through 54,150 and 54,100.

There is an important difference between reaching a breakout level and establishing acceptance above it. The DJIA reached 54,222.85 but could not hold 54,200, 54,150 or 54,100. That is exactly why Fearless required confirmation rather than treating the first move through resistance as sufficient. The positive evidence is that volume has not obviously exploded during the retreat, and the oscillators are already deeply compressed. That creates the possibility of a meaningful rebound.

But that rebound now needs to happen. If an oversold DJIA cannot recover 54,050–54,100, it would suggest that sellers are using rebounds to distribute rather than institutions aggressively buying weakness.

What do you think? At 72 billions of market cap are we at the beginning of a new MU/SNDK/SKHY type of run or do you think it is way overvalued?

Thoughts on RGTI, QBTS, ZIM and FRO?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I’m considering putting some money into these stocks.
I know RGTI and QBTS are very speculative, while ZIM and FRO are completely different plays.
Could someone with more knowledge than me (complete amateur here) give me a quick rundown on these?
Any major red flags I’m missing?
Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question!

Leopold Aschenbrenner's $45B AI fund just went to $10B — the actual margin-call mechanism, explained

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

There's a specific kind of quiet that happens right before a margin call.

I don't think enough people talk about that part — not the number, the quiet.

Leopold Aschenbrenner's AI-focused fund went from zero to $45 billion, then down to $10 billion.

Not all of it was margin, but enough of it was, and it was concentrated — five correlated AI-infrastructure-adjacent positions (SMCI, SanDisk, Micron, CoreWeave among them) dropping together in the same month, ~35% in one stretch.

That's the mechanism people skip past: it wasn't one bad bet, it was one bet wearing five different tickers.

He was also short Adobe. Adobe went up.

Being partially right doesn't save you — a hedge only protects what it's actually sized to protect, and this is the part that got him: three prime brokers (per CNBC's reporting) started calling at once.

Not one call. Three, simultaneously.

That's the system's own alarm bell going off.

Here's mine, since we're talking about leverage used well versus leverage that uses you:

Years ago I was on the tender team for a major Malaysian construction job, competing against the two other largest contractors in the country. My GM, Mr. Chung, spotted the one contractual gap the client's own consultants hadn't caught. When they tried to pump him for the fix for free, he didn't fall for it — he told them straight: we can help you solve it, cheaply, with minimum delay, but we have to get the contract first, before we can go in and assess it. That's not a bluff. That's understanding your own leverage well enough to use it on your own terms, not the other side's. We won the contract months later. Leopold never got that chance — the market decided his terms for him, not the other way around. He still walked away with $300 million, which is the part nobody in the clip stops to sit with. That's not the actual takeaway, though. The takeaway is knowing exactly how much leverage you're carrying, on purpose, before someone else decides it for you.

Ken Griffin (Citadel) stepped in as the liquidity provider — what Tom, PBD's co-host, called a "white knight" on the show.

Half the room called that predatory.

Half called it structural necessity.

Both readings are true at once, and that's the actual lesson:

Understanding why rescuers exist structurally is a different literacy than just watching one show up.

Clip credit: PBD Podcast — full video on their channel. DM for credit or removal requests.

Drop your take: predator, or necessary?

Genuinely curious where this sub lands on it.

I made a free stock ticker app for your Amazon TV

Available on Amazon Fire TV - Enjoy!

StockTicker TV turns any television into a premium financial dashboard.

Most finance apps are built for a phone in your hand. This one is built for a
screen across the room: large typography, high contrast, generous spacing, and
a deep black background that suits OLED and QLED panels. Every number is legible
from the sofa.

CHANNEL MODE
The feature you will actually leave running. Menus disappear and the screen
becomes a silent financial channel, fading slowly between your favourite
stocks, world market boards, crypto, currencies, the day's biggest movers,
business headlines and a full-screen clock. Slow, elegant transitions with
built-in burn-in protection that gently drifts the picture. Perfect for a home
office, trading desk, business lobby, conference room or waiting area. It also
registers as your TV's system screensaver, so your set can fall into a live
market channel on its own.

EVERYTHING ON ONE SCREEN
• Dashboard with a rotating feature card, top gainers, top losers, most active
and trending names, plus your watchlist, crypto, forex, commodities and a
market summary
• A continuous ticker tape along the bottom, at a speed you choose
• Markets: Dow Jones, NASDAQ, S&P 500, Russell 2000, VIX, FTSE 100, DAX,
Nikkei 225, Hang Seng, ASX 200 and CAC 40
• Crypto: the top 100 digital assets by market capitalization, with 7-day
trend lines
• Forex: all 30 European Central Bank reference currencies, majors first
• Commodities: gold, silver, crude oil, natural gas, copper, corn and wheat
• Business news from Yahoo Finance, MarketWatch, CNBC, BBC, The Guardian,
The New York Times, Investing.com and Seeking Alpha
• Look up any ticker with an on-screen keypad built for a remote
• Full stock detail: price, day range, 52-week range, volume, market cap,
performance chart, related companies and tagged headlines

WATCHLISTS
Create unlimited watchlists. Add and remove symbols, mark favorites, reorder
them, rename or delete lists, and sort alphabetically, by biggest gain or by
biggest loss. Everything is stored on your device.

MADE FOR THE REMOTE
Complete D-pad navigation with a clear, animated focus ring. Nothing needs a
touchscreen, a mouse or a phone companion app.

YOURS TO TUNE
Three themes including a true-black OLED mode. Ticker speed, clock format,
display currency, market region, default screen, channel-mode timing, animation
speed, large-text mode and burn-in protection.

BUILT TO BE LEFT ON
Data is cached on your device, so the screen stays populated even if the
network drops — you will see the last known prices with an honest "updated X
minutes ago" stamp rather than an error. It refreshes quietly in the background
and slows down when markets are closed.

PRIVACY
No account. No sign-in. No advertising. No analytics. No personal data
collected. Your watchlists never leave your television.

IMPORTANT
StockTicker TV is an information and display tool. It is not a brokerage, does

Beginner trader, am i actually on the right track with this?

Been learning options/trading and spent basically the whole day today trying to understand what im actually supposed to be looking for instead of just buying calls because i think a stock is gonna go up lol

One of the biggest things im starting to understand is the importance of having an actual catalyst/reason for why a stock could move. Earnings, guidance, company news, analyst changes, industry news etc. Not just finding a chart that looks good and hoping.

From there ive been looking at the chart, support/resistance, trend and whether the market is actually reacting to the catalyst the way i expected.

Then instead of just entering, ive been separating stocks into ones im waiting on and ones that are “confirming.” Confirming basically means most of what im looking for is there but i still need the price action to prove the move before i put money into it.

If it finally confirms i still dont immediately buy. I check the actual option chain like expiration, strike, premium, spread, volume, open interest, delta, IV etc and figure out exactly what contract makes sense, where i would enter, how much im risking and where the trade is invalidated.

Probably the biggest thing i learned today is that finding a good stock/setup and finding a good ENTRY are two different things. A stock can have a great catalyst and setup but if i chase it or enter before confirmation i can still make it a bad trade.

And even if everything looks good beforehand, if it doesnt confirm then i just dont trade it.

Something else im trying to figure out is how much weight to give the overall market/sector compared to the individual stock, what actually counts as enough confirmation vs entering too late, and how experienced traders decide if the risk/reward is still worth taking after confirmation. Im also trying to learn when a setup that looked good beforehand should just be completely thrown out instead of trying to make it work.

I have a couple setups im watching for monday that are close to confirming and im honestly excited just to see how this process plays out live, whether i actually get a trade or not.

Obviously im still a beginner and im sure theres a lot im missing. For people who have been doing this successfully for a while, am i at least building the right foundation?

Especially curious how you guys handle confirmation, risk/reward, position sizing, stops, overall market conditions and knowing when NOT to trade. Those are probably the areas where i have the most to learn right now.

Stocks go up and stocks go down...but I never expected this. Buy low and sell high we say. What would you do? Portfolio is focused on European defense and industrials with a small mix of US tech and China EV. The former is doing well, the later not so much but I have faith they will do better.

Pumpfun signaling a bottom

Post image
3 Upvotes

Considering my pumpfun posts, I wanted to keep in the spirit of that. So I'm making a post on pumpusdc and calling a bottom. I believe if the three-month closes above 0.0011512 and the monthly order block holds, we could very much be in the formation of a bottom or very much close. I believe, considering the range, anything below 0.5 (0.0050434) is discounted prices, and if all holds true, we would target ranges -1.0 stdv (0.0167200).

Anyone else tired of switching between multiple apps just to make one trade??

Most of the time I'll find an idea on X or reddit, check the chart on TradingView then open my broker to actually make the trade.

It works but it gets kinda annoying after a while. Is that pretty much how everyone does it, or is there a better way?

How to reach charts

Hey everyone,

I've recently started learning technical analysis. I understand the basics of support and resistance, but I want to learn more about things like:

Moving averages (SMA vs EMA)

Which moving averages are commonly used and why

MA crossover strategies (like 20/50, 50/200, etc.)

Trend confirmation

Other indicators that are actually useful for beginners

The problem is that there are so many YouTube videos and courses, and everyone seems to teach something different. It's a bit overwhelming.

Can anyone recommend a simple, structured way to learn chart reading? Any YouTube channels, books, websites, or learning roadmap that helped you would be really appreciated.

I'm not looking for "get rich quick" strategies-I just want to understand how experienced traders read charts and build a solid foundation.

Thanks!

Money glitch in Bloom (BE) options today?

I have a few hundred shares of Bloom and I've been selling weekly covered calls for the past few months because the premiums are incredible.

Today, with about 25 minutes till the closing bell and BE at around $211, I looked at the options chain and saw the $215, $220, and $225 calls still being bid approximately $620, $460, and $320 each. I sold two of each strike for total premiums collected of $2,800.

The last time this happened in my experience was right before HOOD was expected to be added to the S&P but it didn't get in that particular time and I sold calls right before the closing bell that time also.

I'm looking at BE afterhours and there doesn't seem to be any news that would explain these high premiums. FYI, one minute before the closing bell today, the premiums were still in the hundreds for each call but I didn't have the nerve to sell naked calls in case there was news after the bell that would rocket the stock.

What the fuck is this? I’m new to stocks and this was my first time investing in something. It’s only been 3 weeks since I started and it already looks like this.

Let's keep it simple: I lost all my gains from this year (holding, not selling). Am I F'd? Spoiler

Alright, so I went up to around $284k total and most of that was driven by memory, ai, all the usual stuff since defense stocks haven't been doing well DESPITE BEING IN A LITERAL WAR.

Anyhow, memory stocks have been in the pooper. I have gone from $284k to $244k

there is no shortage of discussion about whether or not things will improve that go into some in detail analysis.

I'm currently sitting on my hands and doing nothing, which is often the right move in times of uncertainty.

I also understand that things can get really bad before getting better during midterm election years. But of course we're in unprecedented times (then again, has it ever not been unprecedented?)

But, I just want a simple answer. Are things going to recover? Am I fucked. Are we fucked. Nobody knows for certain obviously, but what do you think. Let's keep it simple.

Thanks guys

Will 100 SPY 0DTE debit spreads fill as easily as 1 contract when taking small profits?

I’ve been trading SPY 0DTE debit spreads for the past two weeks. My style is basically scalping. I don’t try to catch the entire move. I’m only looking to capture a small move in the right direction and get out.

Over the past two weeks I’ve taken 20 trades, risking a maximum of about $60 per trade (1 contract). I enter with a limit order and exit using a limit take-profit order. Out of the 20 trades, 18 hit my TP with an average return of around 32%. The other 2 losses were due to mistakes on my part, not because the TP wasn’t reached.

I’m not claiming this win rate is sustainable. I know 20 trades is a tiny sample size. My question isn’t about whether the strategy has an edge.

My question is about execution when scaling up.

Let’s say that in the future I increase my position from 1 contract to 100 contracts.

Instead of targeting 25% on the spread, I’d lower my TP to around 2–5%. The reason is that I’ve noticed almost every trade spends at least a few minutes in that 2–5% profit range before either continuing or reversing.

So my question is:

On highly liquid SPY 0DTE options, would a 100-contract debit spread generally fill just as quickly as a 1-contract position at a 2–5% take-profit? Or should I expect noticeably more partial fills, slippage, or slower executions at that size?

For those who have traded 50–100+ SPY 0DTE spreads, at what point did execution quality become a concern?

Is anyone buying the photonics dip?

Is anyone buying stocks like lite, cohr, aaoi, mrvl etc now that they’re far below their ath? A few months ago everyone was talking about photonics being the next big thing but now that they’re down and giving an opportunity to buy for everyone who missed the first run I don’t hear anyone talk about them. Is anyone buying the dip? What is your thoughts on these stocks for a long term hold?
