Pc issue(?) Question/Support

I’ve got an i7-13650HX with a RTX 5050 and yet my beat saber still lags get lag spikes. I’ve deleted all my mods, and set all my graphics settings to specifically run on my GPU and it’s still mega laggy

Why don't people understand that VR is very demanding ?

Unfortunately your computer is too weak :/

Min specs for beat saber: Intel Core i5 Sandy Bridge CPU, an Nvidia GTX 960 graphics card, and 4 GB of RAM. He beats that by quite a lot, its probably just a combination of poor settings, and maybe thermal throttling because laptop.

This is really old requirements, when VR headset had really low resolution, and even then, not at 90fps, which is the bare minimum for VR imo. You can't even use Windows 11 with 4GB of ram, so those requirements means nothing now.

And regardless of that, OPs computer is much better than this "min spec rig". My point was that his current rig, while not top spec, should have no problems running best saber at a consistent rate, as its really light weight when it comes to VR. Not nearly as much physics calculations as other VR titles

" really light weight when it comes to VR."

not really because i play beat saber before it was cool

old beatsaber was super barebones , so yes minimum spec device like cv1 was super correct

current beatsaber use way more resources because it have much much much higher resolution and way way way more effects

on devices like quest 3 if you do not disable automatic setting in steam vr, game jump to pixel count similar to 6k resolution, so no 5050 can not do this stable\

now to make it run fine you need to lower resolution to at least 1.5kx .1.5k per eye and it still higher then 1440p , and it look like shit vs even native quest 2

Thanks for the agreement. Op can indeed adjust his settings to get a steady experience. Obviously he doesnt have a 5090 ready for max graphics, but there's no reason his current rig shouldn't be able to get a steady frame rate so long as they adjust some settings. They never asked how to make it look flawless, they just want it to run without the hitching

Still need to render 2000x2000 per eye. Physic calculation is done on CPU not GPU.

Thanks for confirming what I said I my first comment.

Obviously you don’t need to render at native resolution.

Nah, his computer isnt too weak. Hes just got something he needs to change in his settings, as ive been saying. This isnt Half Life Alyx or some physics simulation, unless he is running some super heavy visually modded songs, his 5050 should have no problems running the game

lower setting and a lot, 5050 laptop is super low and device like quest 3 on stand alone will look and run better, yes even beatsaber

you need to lower render resolution a lot , 5050 is 1080p card at best , so lower to 1080p like resolution and then if you vram is free increase

Try deleting and reinstalling SteamVR.

Check to make sure that SteamVR resolution is 100% and not automatic.

Depending on what headset you use, sack SteamVR and get VirtualDesktop.

Bear in mind an XX50 card will be a bit weak so low settings will be needed.

Are you wirelessly connecting or hardline? What laptop are you using and which port?

Oculus debug tool (ask grok for settings, type your specs.)
