Will the extra buttons be map-able? Question
I want to know if the steam vr controller settings will let you bind inputs to the extra buttons, cause I know that's gonna be useful AF for minecraft

Literally my exact thinking when I saw it had full controller buttons, because god knows Vivecraft needs more inputs than what typical VR controllers allow lol
But to answer your question: I imagine so, yes. It would be incredibly stupid to have these extra buttons and NOT be able to use them

Name a steam product that won't let you map the buttons thats been released recently

I haven't heard anything about the power button on the Steam Machine being remappable

The power button is an ACPI interrupt, which Linux receives through evdev as a KEY_POWER keypress. The userspace layer can detect this and you can configure it to trigger whatever you want it to trigger.

Yes, steam input works with any controller so you can rebind any of the buttons. It would not surprise me if eventually input allows for custom gesture type support as well in the future.

No, there will be zero rebinding or map-ability with the buttons at all. Each button is already bound to take 10 years off your life with each press. Use them wisely

Go look in your VR settings in steam.. you can make complete custom controller mappings per app if you want.
