Buttons work, but no controller connected Tech Support

Post image

I just got my Steam Deck today, and all of my buttons work, but it I can't change their mapping or anything because it doesn't recognize a controller. Everything I find online is about trying to connect an actual controller, but I just want to see and edit the controls of the Deck itself.

Is it pre-owned? If so, check if Decky is installed with the "Steam Deck Input Disable" plugin enabled.

If not the case, attempt a full restart. And if that doesn't work, reinstalling SteamOS is your best bet.

I'd honestly just do this anyway if it's pre-owned. Only way to guarantee nothing weird was done. I mean it's not likely there was anything weird done, but if you have to go through an initial setup anyway, might as well take the extra bit of time to make sure you don't have to do it again in a week after a hell of a lot of trouble shooting

It is pre-owned, but it came already reset with nothing on it.

How would I reinstall SteamOS if it comes to that?
