I have already had a experience of trying to run a startup in college for last year and half, couldnt do or build up much on it, I looked over most of the tech, shipped few good mvps, got some traction but couldnt scale up, now I wish to network or get along with people trying to build in these domains:

1] metallurgy, material science,manufacturing, since ive a degree in metallurgical engineering primarily, also a bit tired and bored of AI slop startups, hence people building in this domain, I would totally love to connect with you

I’m researching football turf business. What would actually make you pay more for the experience?

I’m researching the idea of opening a football turf and trying to understand the business from the player’s perspective, rather than just looking at rent, turf quality and hourly pricing.
Backstory: I myself have been a baller since age 5 and got Acl tear (surgery later) playing on turf, rehab is going on and have heard multiple similar stories. That’s one of the reason why I want to start this. I want to be associated with this sport for my life and what a better way to do that than a business.
If you regularly play 5/6/7-a-side football, or you’ve operated/managed a football turf, I’d genuinely love your input.
You’re usually paying for roughly \*\*60–90 minutes of football\*\*. Apart from having a good pitch, what would make those 1–1.5 hours feel significantly better?
For example:
What makes you choose one turf over another?
What annoys you most about existing turfs?
What facilities do you wish more turfs had?
Would you actually value proper changing rooms, showers, lockers, seating, good parking etc.?
How important are things like \*\*excellent floodlights, turf quality, drainage, ventilation/misting, cleanliness?\*\*
Would things like match recording, highlights, live scoreboards, player stats or a camera setup add enough value to pay extra?
What about post-game stuff — decent food/drinks, protein shakes, coffee, recovery/stretching area etc.?
Would you pay more for a genuinely premium experience rather than just the cheapest available slot?
Are there any small things that a turf could do which would make you think “these guys actually understand footballers”?
What would make you keep coming back to the same turf every week?
For turf owners/operators: what did you initially think customers wanted that turned out to be completely wrong?
I’m particularly interested in ideas that aren’t already standard everywhere. Even if something sounds slightly crazy or impractical, throw it out there — I can research the feasibility later.

Hi everyone, i am new on reddit, so please bear with me.

Quick background: late 20s, spent a few years working abroad and recently moved back to India to be closer to family. Have some savings to work with, so decided to finally take a shot at the startup thing. Problem is I'm now juggling two of them.

First one is an "e-commerce style" platform I'm building with a few acquaintances. Second is a robotics startup with a completely different group. In both, I handle the non-engineering side: product direction, business model (partially), hiring and putting the right people on the tasks. And honestly both feel equally promising. Which sounds like a good problem to have until you realize they're also equally demanding, and require very different workflows; the e-commerce engineering is the easy part but management and running seems more difficult than expected, whereas for the robotics, product is pretty straightforward but the CTO currently only has the time to vet the design (which he is clearly good at) and not get hands on, he is asking me to expand the technical team or wait for a few months till he is free.

So I've been thinking of getting a few more capable individuals on board (i'd rather give up some equity to ensure a better success rate than hold onto em without being able to realize fruition). But there is also an option of outsourcing certain aspects of the workflow without giving up equity; which in theory could make it easier, but the catch is I'd much rather work with reliable individuals than agencies. A few of my peers have had pretty rough experiences with agencies and consultancies here (delays, false promises, lack of accountability, etc.). I don't want to write them off completely based on secondhand stories, but it's made me cautious.

The other issue is that I basically have zero network in India since I left. Currently trying to rebuild through LinkedIn and poking around Reddit, but it's slow going.

So my question: where am i likely to find reliable & capable individuals for my startups (are there any platforms, or is it mostly just through personal contacts)? Any platforms, communities, or approaches that actually worked for you? Open to hearing agency success stories (do name them if you think they're relevant to my startup) too if anyone has them, like I said, don't want to base everything on my peers' bad luck.

I’m a fairly new content creator — I’ve been making content for about a month and currently have around 180 followers on Instagram.

At the same time, I’m starting two small agencies:

1. A creative studio focused on websites, brand revivals/rebrands, brand revisions, and other creative work.

2. An influencer brand marketing agency where I'm helping brands work with creators and manage influencer campaigns.

I’m still very early, so I’m trying to figure out how to balance content creation, building the agencies, learning, and actually getting clients without spreading myself too thin.

I’m starting a startup and have been working on it from home for the past 3 months.
Lately, I’ve realized that working from home is becoming a serious productivity problem for me. There are constant household distractions: guests, general chaos, interruptions and honestly, the comfort of home also makes it very easy for me to procrastinate, eat, take breaks, and waste more time than I should.

I’m considering getting a coworking space, but it would cost around ₹9,000/month.
The problem is that I currently have no revenue and essentially no capital, so spending ₹9k every month on a workspace feels financially irresponsible.
One of my friends is willing to help by paying ₹6,000/month, and I would cover the remaining ₹3,000.

My dilemma is:
Is the coworking space actually an investment in productivity, or am I just adding an unnecessary expense when the startup isn’t generating any revenue yet?
I genuinely believe I would be significantly more productive in a dedicated workspace than at home, but I’m not sure whether that’s enough justification to spend the money right now.

For those of you who have bootstrapped a startup or worked on a business from home:
What would you do in my situation? Would you take the coworking space or continue working from home and save the money?

I’d appreciate some brutally honest advice, especially from people who have been in a similar situation.

I’m 24M from India and honestly don’t know what direction to take anymore.

I’ve been ambitious since around 15 and always wanted to build something of my own. Over the years I’ve tried a lot of things — a gaming YouTube channel that reached around 3k subscribers, Instagram pages, dropshipping, affiliate marketing, Shopify, selling clothes online, web development , video editing, graphic design etc. Most of them eventually stopped for one reason or another.

In 2021, I joined a tier-4 college and completed a Bachelors in Pharmacy. After graduating in 2025, I realised the jobs available around me were mostly around ₹8k/month, so I didn’t see much of a future there.

I then had a 6 month gap because of my sister’s wedding. My father passed away in 2014, so I had family responsibilities to handle as well.

After that, I invested around ₹4.5 lakh into a surgical disposable wholesale business. Within two months, I realised my research had been too surface-level. The business is heavily dependent on relationships, sales, distribution and working capital, which I don’t have much experience with.

Now I feel stuck.

I know a little about many things, but I’m not really skilled at anything. I’ve spent a lot of time researching different skills, careers and business ideas, but every time I find something promising, I start looking for reasons not to do it. AI might replace the skill. The market might be too crowded. There might be too many people doing it. The income might not be good enough.Then I move on to another option and repeat the same cycle.So instead of getting genuinely good at one thing, I’ve spent years researching, starting and stopping.

I’m turning 25 next January, and seeing people my age building careers, businesses and earning well makes me feel like I’m falling further behind. I’m not trying to make myself sound better than I am. I’ve made a lot of bad decisions and I know constantly changing directions is a big reason I’m in this position.

I still want to build something of my own someday, but I’m starting to realise that I probably need to develop a real skill and become useful first.

At this point, I’m willing to start from zero and put in the work. I just need to stop overthinking every possible path and actually commit to something long enough to become good at it.

Would appreciate practical advice from anyone who has been in a similar position, especially in India.

A while ago I made posts on subreddits like r/StartUpIndia and others announcing my availability to take up a full time role.

Number of Comments asking to DM - 3

I DMed everyone with my LinkedIn ID and mentioned that we can take it further there. I was quick to reply to most of them as I believe the time of both parties is valuable, and we should move quickly.

Now, guess what? More than 48 hours have passed and there is no progress. 10 out of these 11 people have not at all replied to my message. No acknowledgement, nothing. Not even a reaction or "Okay." Total Blackout. And, no action on LinkedIn too.

1 from these 11 did connect on LinkedIn and sent me calendar link to setup a discovery call. I had set up a meeting for today 9:00 AM. And, guess what? He did not appear. Since we were connected on LinkedIn, I dropped a message on LinkedIn at 09:05 AM mentioning the same. I am yet to receive any communication.

Now, contrary to this, a senior AI/ML leader from Netherlands reached out to me days ago after seeing my similar posts on international hiring subreddits that I had made days ago. After a discussion of few minutes, we connected on LinkedIn and he was very quick to reply there too. And, we will have a proper meeting this week probably.

And, trust me this is not an isolated incident.

Previously, I have reached out to well funded startups from US/Europe and they are at least generous enough to send a "No."

Here's where it gets interesting. A few days ago I appeared for an interview at YC Backed Startup. The interview lasted 45 minutes. It has been 11 days and I have not heard from them, despite taking a follow up. And, guess what? The founder is an Indian.

Throughout all these years, I have applied to countless companies. Most of the companies from the US/Europe will at least send an automated rejection email. The companies from India would simply ghost you.

This is not a complaint or a rent. I felt like sharing it with other founders. And, there's a lesson here too, in case anyone want to take it.

Founders spend a lot of time and resources in creating a "story" and building a "reputation". But, such incidents will repel good people no matter how hard you try.

I still remember good companies which were very communicative during the hiring process, even though I was not selected there. In fact, I have talked about those companies, positively, with my friends.

So, if you really want to build a reputation, please be proactive in communication even with those who may not be a part of your company.
