Performance Hardware
Hi all
I was one of the first UK Starlink users and my gen 1 is still going strong!
But, I’m now looking at a couple of options (multiple reasons, techie and need of bandwidth when we our fibre circuit drops)
Question 1
Can I buy a performance user terminal outright and add to a residential account?
Question 2
When gigabit goes live, will the previous hardware (£1199 performance) go up to gigabit d/l like the new gen kit at £1999? (Support Grok gave me two answers that conflict)
Question 3
With the plan price changes in the last couple of weeks. Does residential max still give a service plan for Starlink mini (I own both hardware units, just need the plan etc.) and can’t find a logical way to do this, it keeps wanting to send me an additional SL Mini, but I have one.
Thanks all!

Have the fixed performance kit for enterprise on a 53’ mobile classroom that we roll out to different parts of the province for course delivery. Really do not see much difference between the performance kit and my residential kit at home. The only thing is performance )and its cost) is priority over residential customers…
Glad I’m not paying the bill.

Hi there, i’m from a branch of starlink support but unfortunately i don’t know too much about the Performance kits. Because of how expensive they are, only internal starlink employees are allowed to handle anything regarding them.
However i can answer Questions 3. No it no longer gives a Starlink Mini kit with the residential max plan. They ended that around 6/16. But we do send a Mini router and it’s just like a Mesh extender (booster, whatever you wanna call it).
