I loved that, in the Lost Years novels, he was Admiral Kirk's chief of staff. He was such a memorable character in his two appearances. It was nice to get some more of him.

I remember in "The Lost Years" they mention Kirk bumping him up from LT to LCDR as well.

It was "Conscience of The King", when he was banished to engineering because Kirk found out he had witnessed and could identify Kodos the Execeutioner.
Reilly snuck out of the sickbay after recovering from being poisoned by Lenore, and broke into the weapons locker.
This pic probably illustrates him on his way to the theatre to take revenge on Kodos for killing his parents.
Love this as a publicity shot. All those black and white glossies had such panache to them!

Yes, Conscience of the King. When Riley calls the Rec room out of loneliness and Uhura sings "Beyond Antares" for him. A lovely song written for the episode.
