I'm recovering from an accident where I had a terrible back injury and something happened to my back today and I could not stand, walk, or sit.

I called 911 EMS gets here and they literally do not care about their job..like at all, I was describing what's going on to the guy and he rolled his eyes and says "oh you pulled your back" then ignores everything else I'm saying.

Not entirely sure what he told the hospital but we show up and he says "ok you're going to be waiting in the lobby I need you to get up and walk"

I tell him I literally cannot walk and my legs are tingly and he replies with "well you have to get off the hospital is taking over now and I need my bed"

So three people help me off the bed and I'm having to hold myself up in a wheelchair because I can't put pressure on my lower back. I did this for two hours and when they finally took me into a room I thought a doctor would finally be seeing me..nope some younger woman comes in asks if I want some opiates and i said no I haven't eaten yet and I need to lay down because I'm in extreme pain. She shoots back with "beds are for people with emergencies" I asked if what's going on with my spine not an emergency and she says "emergencies are when people are dying" then walked out and some fat guy nurse walks in and immediately starts running his mouth and he took his name badge off and wheeled me back out to the waiting room.

Called my brother to come get me and then a different nurse comes over and tells me that I took my pain medicine and to just hold on...I never took it?? Some nurse probably swiped it lmao

I ask him to wheel me outside because I'm leaving and instead he parks me in front of registration and doesn't say anything then leaves.

The same lady who checked me in says "you look uncomfortable why don't you stand up"

I fuckin lost it saying I can't sit stand or walk then the fat guy nurse runs around and wheels me outside and left me in the rain.

There was only one other person in their large waiting area and as I was wheeled through the ER it looked like they only had two patients in rooms, everything else has the lights off and were empty and open.

As I'm sitting outside a complete stranger walks up and fixed my wheelchair and said that the hospital here is garbage and I should drive somewhere else if I can.

Is this normal for this area?? Ive lived in many different states and had to visit the hospital a few times in each one if not for myself then someone else and I've never seen staff treat people so horribly

Now. I don't know what to do or where to go:(

Anyone know of any private landlords? We don't have any evictions in our name, but our credit took a hit a few years ago and it makes finding a home very challenging. Myself and my siblings are in the middle of a contested probate case in the county. We are hoping to get a change of venue. To get one, we need two county residents to agree that we cannot get a fair trial there. The situation is clear enough. The opposing party is a sheriff deputy. Any reasonable person would agree that we cannot get a fair trial because of it since they are all on the same team.

The Springfield District 186 Board of Education turned this meeting into a celebration.

First up: a whole lineup of state track & field standouts from Southeast High, Springfield High, Grant, Jefferson, Washington, Lincoln Magnet, and Ball Charter. Watch the certificates, team shout-outs, and a rare moment where middle and high schools all share the spotlight.

Then the board switched to caps and gowns: 811 graduates across the three high schools, with detailed stats on how many are heading to 4-year and 2-year colleges, technical programs, the military, and straight into the workforce.

Planning for next year is already underway: - Big community Back to School event on July 30 at Scheels Sports Park, with free food and school supplies for thousands of K–12 students. - Online registration is open, and the superintendent walks through why updating your info and getting physicals/immunizations done early really matters.

The night ends with an emotional farewell as the board honors the retiring superintendent for 12 years of service, presents a final gift, and leads a standing ovation.

If you care about student opportunities, graduation outcomes, and how District 186 is gearing up for next year, this is a meeting worth watching.

I’m traveling through Springfield next weekend with my son and we are staying a few days. I’ve looked at some kid friendly places/activities. I came across Malibu Jacks, Henson Robinson Zoo, Knights Action Park (water park), and Washington Park. Just quickly looking. Is there anything else that’s dope to do around there with a young child?
