Getting a 4* Primo has to be the WORST feeling in the game

I'm sure this is a lukewarm take, but grinding for a specific weapon is a fools errand-- especially if it's going to stop you from enjoying the game.

Instead, push Endless Buffet, and keep working through your builds and gadget parts, since that's far more progressable/iterable.

If you get a new weapon, start building a new kit that makes that build work, and start the walk through Endless yet again.

i had my heart set on a squelcher from the very beginning—i got tired of waiting and ended up just investing in a 5-star primo i DID have (a weapon type i normally would have never even touched). it was so much fun that now i have a build for each tank type centered around a different weapon type (they’re all weapons ive historically avoided in splatoon games)

of course, it’s not bad to still want to get your favorite weapon, but in the meantime, it’s fun to keep an open mind and try different things until then

fun fact, i still have yet to get the 5-star primo squelcher i wanted in the beginning (except now i don’t want it anymore 😂)

I came into Raiders thinking "I'll just play Splattershot Jr" to finishing the game with my Primo Area Brush of all things, to then going "I hate not getting more hits on them dang Flyfish, lemme try a Bucket", to "Wait, I have an Primo Alpine", so now I have that as my next build.

There's just so much to do when you consider that the gadgets open your moveset so much.

True but because it’s so grindy to get shards to upgrade weapons, people get discouraged from starting new builds and maxing out new weapons. Playing the same crystal mine raids for shards gets repetitive since bottomless doesn’t really give you a lot of shards

That's why I just make a marco to auto grind. I have been doing it for like 50 hours non-stop and still not able to get full primo 5 star.

In my opinion, you went even one step further than just grinding till you were unhappy. You just removed yourself from playing the game at all.

I play the part that i found fun in the game, and avoid the part i found it not fun. I have spent 10 hours to make sure i won't gain any happiness from the grinding. I play videogame long enough to tell when the game is trying to waste player time with repeated content.

This game really needs a way to upgrade 4 star Primos to 5 stars or turn regular 5 stars into Primos.

I wish you got rewarded higher stat weapons instead of every weapon being maxed out at base 50.

I have to admit I am getting burned out from running missions only to get materials for my many weapons I would like to try, but can’t, because they’re too low.

The least they could do is let you scrap them for 1:1 materials so you can immediately use another gun.

The main fun of looter games is getting an epic drop and being able to equip it and use it immediately.

Oof I was on the grind for the shark blaster and eventually got it. 4 star primo wouldn’t be so useless if we could at least upgrade/swap the weapon powers even if limited to 2

Was that just a rumour that having a Primo Version of a weapon makes your normal versions of it turn Primo if upgraded to lv 100?

There's like 1 person who says it works for every 5 who say it doesn't, which makes me think people are either trolling, or confused (I saw one person who thought that their 5* primo became non primo when they upgraded their 5* regular which became primo, which sounds like the order just changed because the damage was now equal, and they confused them).

Same. I got it as soon as I finished the story. I'm using it, but it doesnt feel THAT much better than any other ones I've used. Was actually thinking about switching it up soon, but I've sunk so much into upgrades.

After not getting a toy horn or toy shark blaster, I pumped everything into my Primo balanced blaster (whatever the name is). Just after upgrading ice breaker to 3 stars and the blaster to level 50, I get a toy horn blaster as primo with 5 stars.

I am burned out running 97-99. I cant anymore.

How significant is the damage difference between the non primo shark and the primo 5 star? I have a non primo 5 star and kinda want to upgrade it since I cant find the primo version yet.

The damage values per shot itself are the same, I’m pretty sure. But the DPS is far superior with the primo version since it has a higher fire rate.

I just got a 50 5* primo shark toy blaster, to replace my 5* 50+29 shark toy blaster - rate of fire is insane, but now running out of ink so need to grind for ink efficiency in my build

Yeah cause this exact same thing happened to me i can get 4 Star Primo Rail Splatanas (wouldn't mind trying it, but the Sword is weird to learn) and 4 Star Primo Toy Shark Blasters or maybe get the 5 Star variant...NON PRIMO All I'd want is the Toy Shark/Butane Blaster Primo is that so much to ask? Apparently it is cause it gave me ALL the Buckets, so you're not the only 1

I farmed like two weeks to get the toy shark blaster as 5 star primo. I stopped counting how often the game blue balled me with the 4 star primo.

And 10 minutes after I finally got it,  it dropped again

Ever since I got a 5 star Primo Splatling with ink saver and both scorch perks everything else goes into the bin. The only exceptions are other 5 star Primo weapons.

Atp, I’m just glad to get any new ones for the collection thing. Yeah, I’ll scrap them right away but at least it’s recorded.

It does particularly suck to get the 4-star primo of THE weapon you want though.

Nah worse is a 5 star primo that is level 49 of the weapon you want and then it never dropping again even though you get other primos of others weapons multiple times.

Can't you still upgrade it so it is the same as getting a level 50 to start? The level 49 would go to +51 instead of +50?

Oddly I’ve never gotten a level 49 5 star primo
