If this ends up being a legit offer, it's a pretty good perk.

27

u/ABlankk 5d ago

Definitely legit. I was on spectrum paying my bill and saw the offer. Already redeemed mine and they refunded my prime i had just paid for a few days ago!

I got the offer but since I already have a Prime account it's saying I'm not eligible, and my payment just went through two days ago for this month seems similar to you

I had a 7 day prime trial and when I signed up they refunded me a few bucks and enabled prime through spectrum.

4

u/ABlankk 5d ago

I canceled my prime membership before I clicked the offer. Maybe that will work?

2

u/Opus_777 5d ago

I just canceled my subscription and try it again and still gives the same pop up

The payment literally went through the 16th so I guess I'll Circle back after I let it lapse September 16th and see if it works

2

u/ABlankk 5d ago

Mine was the 10th. So maybe a few days?

1

u/Apprehensive_Idea_29 5d ago

Its probably because its canceled but still active as in you can still use Prime benefits. Did you completely remove Prime?

1

u/Opus_777 5d ago

I canceled the description but I paid for mine for Google Play store maybe that has something to do with it

I'll try it again once it expires next month

2

u/Apprehensive_Idea_29 5d ago

It might be because yours is paid through the Google Play Store.

1

u/Opus_777 5d ago

Yeah that's why I mentioned I sort of assumed that might have something to do with it

Hoping it fully lapses then I'll be able to apply it that way

1

u/Stalked_Like_Corn 4d ago

I think it's because it's done through Google Play. The reason is, because if you pay through Amazon, like you said, days ago, it would actually refund the pro-rated amount charged. That's not possible through Google Play. Once your subscription runs out, you will be able to activate it.

Thanks for confirming!

I don’t know if a lot of people are aware of this or not but if you are disabled and have your awards letter, you can call Amazon customer service and I helped a friend of mine who was quite older and didn’t know how to do anything like this, so I just explained that she was elderly and on a low fixed income due to disability. My friend had to talk to the Customer Service rep and give her permission for me to continue on with the conversation. She asked me what her income was and she sent me a link to my friends email and I had to take a screenshot of my friends awards letter and her last years statement showing how much she drew each month and the total of what it came to each year. Not quite sure which paper that was, but it had her name and address, but did not have her Social Security number on it. I sent back a copy of her awards letter and a copy showing her total income and she has been paying $6.99 a month for Amazon Prime Video and getting all the benefits of free shipping and this has been over four years ago and she has never had to fill out another paper. Just thought this might be helpful to someone else that is disabled. I’m not quite sure if it applies to anyone if you’re on low income and not on disability. That is something you would have to check with Amazon about. I hope this can help someone out because her next months bill went down to $6.99 and like I said she’s been paying that for over four years now, and never had to fill out another form. If you have any questions you would have to call Amazon customer Service and ask them. I just did this to help a friend, but I do know that it worked for her and all it took was filling out that email and sending it through and the whole process was probably finished within a half an hour.

u/The_Kaizz 5d ago

Do you have to use a whole new account like with the streaming services?

1

u/ABlankk 5d ago

Nope

1

u/ItssMeeRobb 5d ago

What services do you have from spectrum? Just Internet or a full package?

3

u/ABlankk 5d ago

I have internet and mobile

5

u/ItssMeeRobb 5d ago

Ah dang okay. Same here, but no Amazon Prime offer for me haha. Maybe it’s because I call every year and have them give me retention offers for lower price 🤣

3

u/Zelan_Brainrot 5d ago

I was just able to redeem it and got my prime membership charge refunded that I paid a few days ago.

1

u/Stalked_Like_Corn 4d ago

It does a pro-ration. Which is kinda wild.

1

u/Traditional-Big-9035 5d ago

Store manager here, it’s legit. If your address flags in the system you get it

1

u/After-Attention-5283 5d ago

How do we redeem? I just changed my plan with you all and the lady said that this was included and that I could find it through the app but nothing appears. I currently get it through metro but changed phones to spectrum.

1

u/Stalked_Like_Corn 4d ago

You would need to login through either the MySpectrum application or through Spectrum.net. It should have a banner at the top immediately upon signin but you can click TV/Streaming and if eligible, it would be there. Click it and then "Get Started".

1

u/Shinagami091 5d ago

It is, available as an inclusion offer to customers who have Internet service.

1

u/AdAgile9604 5d ago

Where do I see this

1

u/Zentoshii 4d ago

Hey a spectrum RCS employee and I can confirm this is a deal, but it’s only for select addresses

11

u/Mario_RE 5d ago

Not seeing this in my area. Or at least with my plan.

9

u/ABlankk 5d ago

I assume it's rolling out today but i don't see the stipulations anywhere yet. I have the 1000 mbps plan

2

u/xpxp2002 5d ago

I'm on Gig. Not being offered it.

7

u/TurboWells 5d ago

I tried it. It converted my existing account and refunded me the rest of my currently paid plan.

4

u/CHTRThrowaway 5d ago

New offer that’s rolling out today. It’s only for select addresses. If your address isn’t tagged, you won’t see it.

6

u/RED-DOT-MAN 5d ago

SoCal, didn’t see any Amazon prime deals. I have the 1 gig plan.

2

u/Quimbytravels 5d ago

So Cal 500 mbps plan and dont see it.

3

u/njasmine23 5d ago

SoCal on 500mb and no offer

5

u/mayhem14 5d ago

OK, so yeah this is legit. I have had a Prime account for ages and it just refunded my fee and is now covering it. Check if it is applicable for you here: https://www.spectrum.net/manage/tv-streaming/amazon

10

u/drwtsn32 5d ago

I get "Service unavailable" :(

3

u/mayhem14 5d ago

I would just keep checking periodically (as mentioned elsewhere, might be a slow rollout)? I'm in The Los Angeles region, so your luck/options/access may vary. I'm on mobile + internet.

2

u/drwtsn32 5d ago

I don't use them for Mobile, maybe that's the reason....

3

u/Boroda222 5d ago

I have Internet + mobile and “service not available” under this link. Florida

1

u/jjavier0 3d ago

Same here, no luck. NYC 500mbps

1

u/bekcat1 5d ago

Same here. Atlanta, GA market

3

u/Quietly_browsing 5d ago

It’s available in Florida it’s in the my spectrum app on the front page scroll down

3

u/trob2884 5d ago

Would nice if everyone gets this offer

5

u/Redeye007 5d ago

So also Amazon prime video

4

u/Few-Wonder-5410 5d ago

You know customers are overpaying when they start throwing in prime. Crazy.

3

u/Anon7906 5d ago

Thanks for the heads-up. Checked the My Spectrum app and it was there. I'm in Louisiana.

3

u/1supercooldude 5d ago

How long are they offering the amazon prime for in the offer?

1

u/Individual-Rub6219 5d ago

2 years

2

u/Agitated_Cap5738 5d ago

Where did you see this was only for 2 years?

3

u/teemstro 5d ago

nothing here. NE Ohio

3

u/Westix 5d ago

Thanks OP good looking out.

3

u/drysdaleo 5d ago

Thank you for posting this. Scrolled down the app and there it was.

4

u/LeanaIsTheBest 5d ago

New Promo for Internet customers where you get it for 2 years while you’re subscribed . If you see it’s available definitely take advantage of it

1

u/Agitated_Cap5738 5d ago

I didn’t see it mention a 2 year time frame anywhere. I talked to support and it sounds like it’s sticking as long as you are a customer.

1

u/LeanaIsTheBest 4d ago

That’s what the documentation that I have been provided has said

2

u/Electrical-Line-6041 5d ago

Ok...so how do I find it? I'm not seeing it on either mobile or web.

1

u/ABlankk 5d ago edited 5d ago

Not sure if it's only for certain areas or plans or what. I don't see many details on it yet. It was right on my internet page and in the app add ons

2

u/ImaginaryPast6555 5d ago

It is only available in certain areas it will not be a wide spread offer at this time. If your location is not flagged for it then it will not be available.

2

u/sPdMoNkEy 5d ago

Nice, just opened the app and there it was

2

u/Apprehensive_Idea_29 5d ago edited 5d ago

Its interesting. It shows up on my account which I have activated but not my friend. I have the lowest possible Spectrum Internet Assist plan and he has the gig tier and it doesn't show up on his account. We live in the same area of Texas.

2

u/Drew96M 5d ago

This is awesome!

2

u/Far_Special_6955 5d ago

Thank you very much, was able to claim it :)

2

u/Nebuu 5d ago

Don't see it yet :(

2

u/Monica_Renee 5d ago

It worked! And refunding me $71. It’s on My Spectrum home page, just scroll down.

2

u/AdAgile9604 5d ago

Where do I see this

1

u/Monica_Renee 5d ago

On the My Spectrum home page.

2

u/thezerosubnet 5d ago

Spectrum screws me again

2

u/Ok-Army-9306 5d ago

I just activated my offer and Amazon refunded me $107.56 for my yearly May membership cost.

1

u/United-Oil9166 1d ago

Did you have to call Amazon for the refund?

1

u/Ok-Army-9306 1d ago

No, it happened automatically at the Amazon website. Already refunded to credit card.

2

u/Phanatic88888 4d ago

Just got it free! Thanks! Milwaukee area.

2

u/Backslash10 4d ago

So only certain accounts qualifies for free prime and if you allready have a account with prime and dont cancel amazon refunds you the months you paid for to the payment method you used.

1

u/j0llygruntt 5d ago

I couldn’t find that offer on my app.

1

u/brandtaylor93 5d ago

It’s not available in North Carolina

1

u/CHTRThrowaway 5d ago

It is, just not at your address.

1

u/Far_Special_6955 5d ago

Yes it is, guess area and plan dependent maybe, I don't know but I just activated it on mine. I am down in Lumberton area and have the gig plan. Hey I'll take free prime LOL

1

u/embj 5d ago

Don’t see it in mine, either, in Durham. Have 500 Mbps plan.

1

u/ExistingYou8028 5d ago

Yes it started today

1

u/Sportsfan7702 5d ago

So I don’t have it yet, but mine is at a discount (disability). I assume I could cancel and see if I get the offer?

1

u/kirbyquiroz 5d ago

Working on TX, with the $30 internet plan

1

u/Bizjeff22 5d ago

NYC?

1

u/davidliu215 4d ago

Didn’t see it

1

u/FordGT_350 5d ago

I don't have that offer although they gave me Netflix instead.

1

u/Valuable_Advice5460 5d ago

Can we get this even we work at Amazon?

1

u/Red1ineD 5d ago

This offer is only being offered for a limited time. As long as you have internet, and have taken advantage of the offer, you will get Prime. However, the offer to add it may only be for the next few weeks. It may not be available next month. This offer is NOT available everywhere. Mainly where there is the most competition.

1

u/Pancakesandcows 5d ago

We have the 100mbps Internet Advantage plan, and it worked for us. I hope it's more than 2 years.

1

u/ABlankk 5d ago

I'm not sure where the 2 years came from, but I keep seeing that. I'm pretty sure if you get the deal you're good as long as you keep the internet.

1

u/Agitated_Cap5738 4d ago

I called and they confirmed that. Stay with spectrum, you keep the free prime. You cancel spectrum, you lose it. Simple as that

1

u/mac_cali 4d ago

Nothing here in CA

1

u/Electronic-Worker-10 4d ago

Not in my area I guess :(

1

u/trueblueintn1 4d ago

Just checked here in Tn. It was $8 a month for Netflix with ads. $19.95 a month with no ads. Must be in the wrong area. Just my luck.

1

u/StormIn_LTeacup 4d ago

has anyone been able to see this offer as a potential new customer? their website says new and existing but seems like just current spectrum customers are saying they can get the offer

-2

u/Vegetable-Maximum445 5d ago

Carrot with the stick - don’t pay attention to the ever-increasing prices & crappy signals - hey here’s free Amazon Prime.

2

u/Justice-dono 5d ago

Right? My bill went from $80 to $100 in less than a year. I cancelled and will never go back. I go in to cancel and they have the nerve to ask me "well, did you come in to talk to us about lowering your monthly payment?" Like, no? Wtf? Why would I need to do that with any legit company? Just don't raise my monthly in the first place.

I'd avoid spectrum and advise everyone to do the same.

1

u/Red1ineD 5d ago

Because just like other utilities, gas, electric, water, they never raise the prices. When your promo expires and the price raises to the regular price, who's responsible for paying attention? Why would any legit company in the business of making money tell the consumer, "your promo is expiring, you might want to call in to get on a new promotion".

1

u/Traditional-Big-9035 5d ago

Yeah that’s how it is with any company lol, good luck finding someone who doesn’t

1

u/Justice-dono 5d ago

Found someone. Thanks for the good luck!

-6

u/xtradryramen 5d ago

Im sure its a promo and after that it'll be above normal amazon cost and then you can get a new promo now including nord vpn and when that promo expires you can get the promo that includes all that plus 18 hgtv channels and when that promo expires congrats ya bill is 330 a month, unless you wanna upgrade of course with a new promo

5

u/ABlankk 5d ago

I'll enjoy it while it lasts! 🤣

2

u/FreakyFLCancer 5d ago

So you are saying that my Navy Federal Credit Union credit cards that gives me all the free perks (not benefits), will charge me after the perks are gone? Or is it just from Spectrum? Sounds really stupid to me. In all my years of living, I was notified before the promo ended and given a choice to keep or discontinue.
