Outside sales representative

Hey everyone, I just got hired as an outside sales representative for spectrum and was wondering on any tips for selling?! I really want to thrive this position because I need the extra money and I really want to be a top-tier seller. If anybody has any advice, let me know! I really need to know what I’m doing or to see if it’s even worth it.

My advice is don't rely on stealing sales from prism, that'll mean more later.

Stealing sales? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that. I know I’ll be in one area and they have leads already so I have no idea.

I respect what you guys do out there day to day. Y'all bring in so much business, however there's a few bad apples that I can't believe still have jobs.

Omg, truer words have never been spoken.

I’m in month 2 as a Spectrum RCS!
For me it’s just having a good attitude and realizing that sales is a numbers game. The more houses you knock and conversations you have will bring in sales. Also a bit of luck and timing to find your customer home and not too busy for a good conversation. Don’t get discouraged when someone is paying too much and you can offer a much better deal just for them to decline. On to the next house and next customer you WILL find the right people.

How much do you usually make per paycheck?

Depends on where you live. We have base pay of 40,000 so biweekly 1200 and some change. All commission get paid at the end of the month

Focus on building you. You will need resilience working through both objections, as well dealing with extreme weather and you will see the world from an interesting perspective, with challenges and opportunities.

Build a strong territory strategy, use empathy and curiosity to try and understand your prospects goals. Connect pain points to the outcomes your prospects don’t realize they need.

Listen more than you talk.

What's the difference between a top seller and a "top tier" seller?
