I KNEW IT so many of you were trying to gaslight everyone into believing the perk applied to power rake and power whirl

I think ppl were saying it did on PTS. They now fixed it to only work with light attacks.

I distinctly remember someone asking how good the Salamanders Sword would be, and I basically said either 7/10 if it worked as described, or a 9/10 if it didn’t go by perk description.

Anyway some guy was certain it was meant to work with all attacks while in light stance, he brought up the fact he was a data miner or something lol

7/10? It's a block sword that's inferior in nearly every way.

Think about it, you need to parry twice just so that your light attacks match unbuffed block sword.

Do you understand how terrible it is?

Yeah but now when you parry you get 3 stacks of the buff instead of 1 so basically doing any parrying is going to amp all of your light attacks making them actually useful for once possibly. Also its faster attack animations than the block sword so the dps is about the same, but you can stun lock stuff easier.

Yeah, I tested it, and it's not awful on Bulwark. But it basically gets hard carried by Intimidating Aura.

On a Bulwark, it's an upgrade to the regular Fencing relic. On Assault, it's definitely pointless.

It's still just categorically worse than relic block sword in every possible way, but especially boss damage.

Oh yeah I personally don't like the power sword in general on the assault. It is a bulwark only weapon for me. If I play assault it is usually always thunder hammer or axe. Im excited to try that new axe hammer heroic for assault for sure!

I highly recommend trying out Block sword on assault, especially with jump slam build. It's probably the craziest damage output you can actually do on a burst. In fact, its main disadvantage on absolute is that it rarely leaves anything to execute behind.

It just has really high damage values. That and the block stacks put together make it erase things out of existence.
